August 2011 Alamo code???

Man that stinks. Is the beginning of August really that much more busy? I hope you can come accross something more economical. I know we only rented a car because we have some early morning ADR's and the taxi costs for just 5 trips would run us clost to $200. This was how I convienced DH that a car rental was worth it.

I wish it was that price for my 11 days.

We have only doen one trip without a car, and we regretted it. We love the freedom of a car to visit other resorts, make a run to the grocery store eat at some off site places we love...etc..

My price for August 11-23rd for a minivan was well over $1000!! So we are sticking to an SUV for $350.

Was that with fees and taxes? The $250 is through the insiders program and it includes all fees and taxes. I tried to use a $30 coupon, but we aren't renting a week and it wouldn't accept it, so I tried the $25, which did work.

yes the price I stated was with all the taxs and fees but I added 30 minutes to the rental time and was able to use the $30 coupon. Read my prior post again regarding how to increase your rental time by 30 minutes in order to use the $30 coupon.

Boy am I glad I booked last year. I have a compact car from 8/3 to 8/14 with an additional driver, including asll taves for $253.

Thanks for posting about BJs...I wasnt able to get it for $312 for my 10 days (8/24 - 9/3) but I did get $350 with all taxes and fees. And considering just last week it was $488...so I am happy with $350!! Anything under $400 for 10 days is good! Thanks again !

My Alamo rate for August went down just a tiny bit today ($18) but every little bit helps. We are saving a ton by renting from the Car Care Center instead of MCO. The weekly rate for pick up at MCO is $290. By picking up at the CCC and returning to the Dolphin the weekly rate is $181 (before taxes, fees, etc.)

Hi, Not ALAMO but Budget sent me an e-mail special for a Standard SUV at $209.00 per week. Use code is U102800 and coupon code that can be used is MUGZ029. My reservation is for 9 days and 2 hours for a total of $442.40. The coupon was accepted BUT not taken off the total?? I think they take it off when I return the car?? (can someone verify this for me??) My dates are 7/30-8/8. Hope this helps someone . Joan

I have been looking at alamo for about a month for our Aug 3-10th stay at WDW. Registered for Alamo insiders 2 weeks ago. Prices have been consistantly 240 (without fees, etc.). Checked today and prices for compact or midsize are now 149 minus 10%(insiders club) for 134 (without fees).

The prices are going down!!!

By the way picking up on the 3rd at 1:00pm vs 1:30pm showed a price difference to the good by a few dollars.

Alamo was accepting coupons for these exact dates as I have a ressie made early in the year with the 30.00 off. At a certain point (based on supply and demand) I guess they stop allowing coupons.

I saw that this morning. I often will put in dates (the week before mine or the week after mine) to see what different dates are getting. While July is still high, I saw that first week of August has dropped ALOT. I'm the second week of August and my rates are still high. I did manage to snag a minivan for a total of $266 without a coupon for a week, so I don't think I'll see anything better, unless they allow coupons and I can add it to the reservation without losing my rate. I think the better rates will come out as we get closer to August with summer ending. (Just in case anyone is looking for the small minivan deal--it's gone now.)
