August 2010 anyone?

Hi! I'm new here and am hoping to go to WDW next August. I have no idea when to begin planning or what is best to do first, if I am thinking about this too soon, etc. We got our free customized maps and DVD in the mail, so we are excited to start planning!

Anyone else going next August? I notice rates for lodging dropped this year on August 9 - is that similar from year to year?

I have a million questions! Experts - what advice do you have for where I should begin? I am not completely committed to August if June or July is better!

My husband and I, our son (who will be 5) and my parents will be going. I'm known for my couponing and internet savvy shopping with promo codes, etc. We don't want to be "cheap" on our Disney trip, but stretching our dollars is always a plus!

Also, our son has food allergies to nuts and eggs, and I understand that Disney is VERY accomodating with meals.

So... who's in for August, and where do we begin? :cool1: TIA!
Were going 1ST AUG 2010 14 nights staying in The Port Orleans Riverside from the uk found this link for POR http://www.portorleans.org/video.php plus free disney dinning plan at he Port Orleans Riverside from 1st august till November 2010

Hooray for August!!!!

My family booked bounceback for next August. We will be at POR 08/14-08/29!!! I have recruited some newbies so we will be a GRAND GATHERING for at least 1 week of the trip but at least a party of 7 for the entire 2 weeks.
This should make ADR's interesting.......:rolleyes1...Thank God the booking window is back to 180 days!!!

Happy Planning Everyone!:goodvibes

I want to join too...we went to Disney this past August for 7 nights and we had a blast...so much that we want to go back. Also the weather was crappy some days...the crowds were so low that we would definitely do it again!!

So here I am getting ready to start planning another trip for August 2010!!! :woohoo:

We got lucky this year by boooking POP and getting upgraded to SSR!! So I am just waiting to book my next trip...I may do it sometime mid-January...please keep your finger crossed!!

If any of you are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort in 2010, please come join our 2010 CBR Countdown thread. The link is in my signature below. Who knows...some of us may see each other.

Sorry if this is a repeat question but here goes.
Since you can book 180 days out for dinner reservations and are still waiting for the free dining to come out, what do you do? We have always booked the free dining and then had to wait for the 90 day mark. I am nervous that we will not get any of our favorite restaurants.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a million!!!

A HUGE congrats to my "kittten" Scott MC. He got a PIN today, and saved our group almost $1800!!!! BLT......here we come in 2010!!!! Thanks again Scott!

After initiating planning in April (1 year after our last trip), this trip just seemed so far away. Now that the New Year started and the holidays are over, it finally seems real. Although we are arriving on July 29th, the majority of our trip will be in August.

Since yesterday's announcement of deals through June, we know that August is not far behind. Keeping our fingers crossed along with everyone else.

We have a family suite booked at ASMUS for Aug. 16 for 10 days! Dreading the heat but hoping for some lower crowds! Fingers crossed for free dining!!!

We'll be going in August. August 21-Sept 4. TWO weeks! :cool1:
This is my first time going in August. I know it'll be hot, but I am hoping the crowds are better than my previous June trips :thumbsup2
We are staying at All Star Movies. I really wanted to stay at CBR, but with Toy Story 3 coming out, I was out voted by the kids, LOL.

We are going the last week in Aug.
Plan on staying at the Beach and Yacht club,Contemporary garden view and 2 days club level.

I'm planning on going Aug 25th to Sept 3rd. Does anyone know if the free dining promotion is limited to a certain number of people? I can't book my package until I get my tax return back, and I'm worried that it won't be available

Has free dining for August been released yet? I would imagine it would apply to everyone you list on your reservation. I am able to get it for my family of 7.

I'm sorry I didn't explain my question right. Is there a limited number of rooms that they allow to have the promotion overall? I know some people are booking rooms now and then are going to add the free dining if and when it comes out in april-ish. I don't think I'll be able to book until its actually announced and I'm worried about the availability of adr's and rooms. Cause if I remember correctly I read somewhere you can start making adr's in feburary for august. I've never done the dining plan/ free dining so I'm not sure what to expect

oh and it hasn't been announced yet for people in the US yet, but it has in the UK
