August 2008 Disney Trek PTR

Well, yesterday, we got one more thing ready for our trip. We've been debating over driving our van (which has 105,000 miles on it ) or renting a car or maybe even flying. We decided we didn't want to fly because we'd be too limited on what we could bring or we'd have to ship stuff ahead and we really don't want to do that. Then I couldn't hardly stand the idea of paying to rent a car and then leave it parked for 10 days while we're using Disney's transportation. I guess that's the skinflint in me. Anyway, we took our van to the garage and had them go over it and do some maintenance things and they declared it trip ready (well as much as they could anyway). So we're going to drive our van.

Anyway, that's one more thing done!!! 5 weeks from right now and we should be at MK!!

i wish that i could give a once over to the plane in these upcoming months to make sure everything is working soundly! hahaha but i will keep do practice packs, to optimize my valuable space

I just came back from my morning walk and DH was still in bed as it was only 6:20AM. I hadn't turned a light on in the room or anything yet. All of a sudden he just spoke up and said "5 weeks". That was all, nothing else. He cracks me up. It really is only 5 weeks and we'll be on the road to Disney

haha thats so funny about your DD doing extra chores, ive been doing some extra marketing so i can do a few more last minute screen printing jobs, so i can have a little extra scratch as well! yeah i dont know what it is but once i get into tattoine traders or pretty much anything in epcot, i have to be drug out!

I have gift cards that I have been saving to use on this trip for my extra purchases.

It's so much fun to get Disney stuff in. I've been thinking about starting to pack some things too, but I keep telling myself it's too early. 5 weeks from right now we should be getting pretty close to arriving at POP. Can't wait!!!!!

I am going to bring an all most empty carry on to fill up with my Disney purchases. I am flying because I don't have enough time for the drive there and back. I have to go back to work right after the trip.

The empty carry-on. That's a good idea to bring your treasures home in. I'm glad we are driving because my girls always buy so much that a carry-on would never hold it.

get some cycling socks, they are really comfortable and they usually wick all of the sweat and heat that might acrew in your foot. plus they are really comfy.

no problem, they are a little foreign when you first put them on but once you get used to them they are soooo nice!

Another task accomplished. I just made our final hotel reservation for the drive home (I hate to even think about it). Anyway, bit the bullet and got it done.

4 weeks from today is my B-day and they are going to take me out to lunch at Red Lobster. The dog goes to the kennel and we'll pack up the van and attempt to go to bed earlier than usual.

4 weeks from tomorrow we'll be getting up about 4:00am and hope to leave no later than 4:45am.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't wait!!!
