When August comes, I hope to be able to consider more options for airfare, hotels and the like. I love planning and would never want to hand all of the details over to an agent.

Would I bet nuts to consider flying into Las Vegas, hanging around for a couple of days, then driving to DL? I don't think I'll be planning a Vegas trip in the near future and thought I might want to add it in.
I don't think you're nuts - you can probably get a good deal on airfare to Las Vegas - not sure about the one way rental car though, since you're crossing state lines it might not be cheap (have never done it myself, so not sure) - worse case after a few days in Vegas you can fly out of Vegas to So Calif via Southwest Airlines, if you time it right you might be able to get one of their $29 or $39 per person rates (with fees/taxes it'll be about $50-$60 per person).

Oh, Robin, we could have met you there! Sturbridge is about a 45 minute drive from our house. Mary has never gone to Sturbridge Village either. Oh well. My sister was a big Bay City Rollers fan.

I found the website for the cruisewear that Disney sends you info about in your documents. I actually kept the brochure for future reference. It's www.cruiselineformal.com

Pete Werner already got rid of that hacker thing. Good job, Pete. Fast work. Imagine someone trying to not let us into our DIS. We will not be stopped. :hyper:

Just caught up on the weekend postings. It's been a busy one here -today is Lara's 8th Birthday! princess: :bday:

We had a family party for 20 here at home yesterday, and 16 of her friends at a Gymnastics Academy this afternoon. (They provide two coaches and take the kids on all the various apparatus). She had a great time, but as the kids were leaving the gym to go to the party room, she told me her left thumb was really hurting. I was shocked to see it swelling already so we put ice on it while everyone had pizza and cake.

Within the hour it was swollen and turning black and blue. The poor kid ended up spending her birthday at the hospital emergency room!  After being there for four hours, she left in a cast with a severe sprain and probable ligament damage.

She's finally fallen asleep (don't know for how long) but we have an appointment with a specialist on Tuesday morning for a more thorough damage assessment.

2004 has not been a good year for us so far - the highlights have been our February 28 Western Cruise and booking next year's Repo Cruise! I'm glad I've got you guys to keep me smiling right now!:wave2:

Happy Birthday Lara!!!! :)
Hope your thumb gets better.
Uncle Dalton won't be able to help you with the physio though :)
(Sorry Ontario joke)

Cheers,
Grumbo

But Uncle Grumbo is incorrect!

Uncle Dalton has given her until July 1st! So get those appointments set before then!

BTW,

Toronto Zoo Meet has been set for June 26th 1:30 p.m.

We are meeting at the Greenhouse Gift Shop!

Hope you guys can make it!

Oh Thanks Rennee! That was going to be my Factiod for the Day!LOL;)

Oh Well, here is another little tidbit!

In the depths of the Continental Divide in 1913, more dynamite was used in Culebra Cut than all previous wars of the U.S. combined.

Now everybody go back to doing the Cha Cha Slide!LOL

If you want more info on the Panama Canal - you might want to check out these books that us May repo cruisers are reading:

"The Path Between the Seas" The Creation of the Panama Canal 1870-1914 by David McCullough (link)

"Panama Canal by Cruise Ship: The Complete Guide to Cruising the Panama Canal" by Anne Vipond (link)

I just bought them yesterday. I started the history one first. Wow. It's a wealth of information!

Interesting website. It really is fascinating traversing the Canal. If you have binoculars, bring them.

Hey guys, I was gone for 3 days and came back to something like 10 pages to catch up on. I think that we need to vote in a secretary to take notes. Anyone up to the job?:teeth:

Gotta go check out the websites. Later!
