BTW - have you ever had any Granny Smith Fries? Someone on the DL boards suggested I get them because they are delicious. She said they are just like french fries, but made with Granny Smith Apples and have vanilla whipped cream for dipping. They sound great. Might have to try them.

Where do you get these????????? FInd them!!!! Send them to me!!!!!!!

OMG, this sounds so yummy!!!!! One of these days I am going to go to a state fair or someplace that has all the fried goodies and make a pig of myself.

Believe it or not, I got it from the Arizona State University website. Use this code - 294-ASU-2004. Both adult and child tickets are $33.95 each. I printed them myself and didn't have to pay for shipping. I was going to get them through Costco.com, because they were $34.99/adult and $29.99/child, but would have had to pay $7.70 shipping. This way it only cost me $67.90 for the two tickets.

Went to a fair a couple of months ago and I could not believe the stuff they fry! Just about everything!

I saw fried apples, fried twinkies, even FRIED CANDY BARS!

Me too. I saw fried Oreos! Never saw fried candy bars, though. All this talk about junk food is getting me hungry.

Renee, I took the boys to Legoland in 2000 and had the apple fries. They were great. We drove from DL to Legoland, it's not a bad drive but not much to see for a long time on I-5.

I checked the deckplans, not only are we on the same flight going out to CA, but we are neighbors. Now when it that party that Mark was talking about?

New Deck Plan Feature!

You will soon be able to roll your mouse over the various highlighted staterooms to find out which Fool is in which room!

To test this new feature:

1. Go to the Deck Plans

2. Roll your mouse over to Deck 2 and use Room 2098 as a test subject.

3. Once your mouse is over that room, look at the bottom left corner of your Internet Explorer window!

How cool is this?! Fantastic - we already know who is next door to us, but do they know about us, Tinkerbell129???

We went to Legoland in 2003! DS Loved it as he is a huge Lego fan! Be sure to ride the coaster that you peddle! So much fun! The mini-land is unbelievable! Be ready for the really costly food! I thought it was way out of line for that type of place (approx $12/pp for lunch).

Enjoy!

Just to put it into perspective for Pam....Marsha and I live less than 100 miles from each other (that's right...isn't it? I'm 50-60 miles from Concord, you're less than that right?). I (well, DH actually) mailed the envelope on Tuesday, so it took 2 days to get there.

Wow, I didn't realise the length of time post took in the US. I know it's a big country, but only 100 miles taking 2 days by post. In England, there is either 1st or 2nd class and about 85% of 1st class post is delivered the next day. Of course, here on this tiny Island, we only have 'post' and everything is delivered..... whenever!

You could go see where the Old Man in the Mountain used to be. Not much else really.

Jenny, is (or was) the Old Man in the Mountain the rock formation near the top of a cliff that was shaped like a straight nosed man? Forgive my ignorance, I've seen photos of that and just knew it was in New England somehwere. Do you mean that it is not there anymore? What happened to it?

In an ongoing effort to offer new services and break into new markets, JGE is pleased to announce the new JGE Priority Service Parcel Service JGE-PSPS.

Now, for a low, low, fee you too can have your highly important personal and business documents hand-delivered by one of our skilled Parcel Carriers.

And, in an effort to provide service that is superior to the USPS, we have provided our carriers with the best equipment available to us.

So, mail those letters and packages with PSPS today! Where our motto is: We promise it will get there! Eventually!

Well, like I said, we are very excited!!! OK, I usually do not share "such" personal info., but Brian and I are very proud of our dd and are bursting at the seams!

Our delightful, very smart, sociable, loving, and beautiful dd has been working hard for years on her reading. She has dyslexia which makes her brain process letters and written language in unusual ways (letters are processed backwards, letters jumping around, and much more). Well this week, she passed two reading benchmarks in a row, and is just one small step from being on grade-level for reading!!! She has made new neural pathways and is close to becoming a normal reader! It has been a journey, and she has had to work much harder than children who have normal reading and visual processing skills. We are so very proud of her! We believe she will be on grade level for reading by the end of the school year!

Oh wow Barbara! Thanks for sharing this wonderful news about Marissa. Congratulations to all of you. I know how much work she must have done to achieve this and how much help and support you all must have given to Marissa. Joy, our DD suffers (slightly) from dyspraxia and learning has always been a struggle for her, so I can empathise with every single, well earned achievement. I could feel the pride and excitement coming through in your message, and it made me misty-eyed! So many best wishes to you all.

I know, isn't that cool that we're neighbors on the flight and on the ship? Are you staying at the HISP? If you are, wouldn't that be awesome if we were near each other again?

Don't forget, the party is in room 6084. ;)

:cat: Reading is my very favorite thing. I have been known to stand at the stove stirring dinner with a book in the other hand. Usually I don't burn anything. LOl

I used to stand at bus stops on my journey into work when I was younger (and didn't drive) reading. I can't tell you the amount of buses I missed because I was immersed in a novel.

Perhaps we should have a book club on the cruise?

PAm, the mail got here today, so from April 19th to the 22nd, not bad. Used to be there was air mail, first class, third class, and media rates. But 1st and air got combined, so your letter will go from your local post office to a sorting facility. From there it is either delivered to the distant post office for next day delivery (if it is in the same sorting facility area) or sent to another sorting facility. Sometimes this is done via air, sometimes via truck, it just depends. Jennys envelope went from thier sorting facility to mine and then to me, thus 2 days. So you just never know how long the mail will take, but unless you send something 3rd class across the country, you can usually get a letter with in 7 days. Third class is all truck, itr's like us sending a letter to you. Unless it's airmail, it can take 6 weeks to get there! As JGEPSPSwas not in business when Allan sent his envelope, I am very quite happy to say that it got here with out any difficulty!

As far as the Old Man, yes, it was a sillouette way up on a mountain side. Unfortunately, it succumbed to the forces of nature and slid down the mountain in the fall of 2003. It had been patched and glued, wrapped in wires and cables, etc over the years, but nothing could prevent it from happening, nor was there any warning. I couldn't believe it, I had seen it so many times and just like that, it was gone.

Woo Hoo for ASU and the Sun Devils. I lived in AZ 8.5 years, just think if I was there today, I would be getting the pool ready to open.

Fried Mars Bars are a common delicacy in Scotland. Never tried them myself - I can get in enough trouble just with the Mars Bar never mind the batter they are dipped in first and then the frying!

That's the one. It's not there anymore. The rocks fell. They had them supported by wire and stuff, but it wasn't enough to hold it in place.

For the Fools who are going to DL before the cruise I want to find out the least expensive place you are finding park tickets.

I just booked 2 nights at the DL hotel (on points). DVC has lowered the points needed to stay at the DL Hotel (only the DLH, not the PP or GC).

Bought airfare into Orange.

Just need to book transfers and park tickets.

DD and I are gonna have a girls weekend in November. She has a couple of days off from school and we are leaving DH at home! :cool1:

Yeah, and I'm not a man, and I don't live in a mountain... :rotfl2:
