Barbara - I am so thrilled for all of you! What a wonderful accomplishment for Marissa! It's an achievement your whole family shares in for the nurturing and encouragement you've all provided throughout this journey.

She deserves the wonderful treat you have planned for her. You'll have to tell us ALL about it! We're anxious to hear about the new fireworks - and they'll be brand-new when you experience them!!!!!

We have had some medical issues with our DD too and have been reading EVERYTHING! WE ALL have worked very hard this year and DD is finally at grade level reading. She has a goal of 3 more levels before school is out (not sure if we are gonna achieve that)

Thank you everyone for all your kind words and thoughts for Marissa and Brian and I! It touched our hearts how compassionate and caring you all are. We appreciate your sharing in our joy!

Roxann, big-time congratulations to your dd too, as well as to you and your dh as you made/continue the journey. You must be bubbling over with joy too! We should swap notes about what we've found out about reading.

I had hoped to read and reply to today's posts, but alass, it's 11 p.m. PST and my eyes are drooping. I do not know how you EST and CST Fools stay up so late each night! I applaud you! I am a bear if I do not get my sleep. Ask my poor dh, lol.

Anyway, I wanted to say thanks again. :sunny:

I know some of our friends like Mel, Bob, & family; and Kathy, her dad, and family are going through major trials right now. Our family continues to pray for you and yours, wishing you good news soon with new joys sometime in your near futures.

Hooray for reading accomplishments. I have a nephew who is in the super smart IQ range, but struggled in school, it took many years before he was diagnosed with dislexia. He probably will never get it right, but at least they all know why. I am a voracious reader, I can think of few things that bring me more pleasure than a good novel. The more you read, the more you know.

Amanda, congrats on getting the go ahead for the surgery. And for your mom, too. Just think how nice it will be on the cruise, not having to worry that your contacts will get dried out in the sea breeze.

Nice day today, but the street cleaners are supposed to be here to sweep up all the sand from winter, I hope they reuse it. I am probably going to do some laundry. I do lead an exciting life!

Jenny, I have seen the Old Man many times. We came here on summer vacation every year from when I was 5 till over 18. Then my parents moved back here after they retired and we came up a lot to see them. I was shocked when the Old Man fell, but that's nature for you.

Anyone interested in the Ecost portable DVD players - they still have 61 left as of this morning. I ordered 2 yesterday afternoon and they were shipped today and should arrive to me by Tuesday... and thats with the standard free shipping. Great Deal!

I also got my SD500 camera from Dell yesterday, wasnt expecting it so fast - they originally said May 2nd. Cant wait to start playing with it. Its alot smaller than I anticipated.
