Sandy: We're doing an RV trip next year for our vacation. Renting an RV and going west! That way the dog can even come LOL.

Well, since I've told you about our pets, might as well make the leap into the shallow end and tell you about us.

My DH and I have been married 27 years this August (will be celebrating during the cruise), and have known each other 30 years this year. We LOVE to travel -- mostly by car because you can see more. We've been to 29 states on road trips -- from Maine to Florida and as far west as St. Louis. We also flew to Arizona a couple of years ago and did a 10-day road trip through that state as well, and have been through Canada many times.

I work at a Law Library My DH works at in research at a food company. My DD graduates HS in June and wants to take a year off to work and buy a car and save money for college. Then she will be enrolling in College to take up web graphic design. She loves Japanese Anime films and art, comic book art and has some of her artwork displayed at deviantart.com. She designed the guidance book and yearbook covers for her high school this year and is very proud of that. She is also in the process of creating her own website which will display the comic series she has been working on over the past two years.

We are avid Alias, Survivor, Amazing Race, King of Queens, That 70's Show and Everybody Loves Raymond fans. One of our hobbies is movie watching and criticing.

If we could travel for a living, we would in a minute. This will be our 4th Disney cruise. We've been to WDW four times -- including two weeks when my daughter was 9 for her first time. Right now, my family won't sail on anything other than Disney because they like the comfort zone of it and the "no airs" atmosphere.

Well, that's it in a nutshell..... :grouphug:

Okay! I am collecting all the information tidbits everyone provides about themselves and will put together a litte trivia quiz to hand out for everyone.

Now you've started my neurotic side! I'm going to have to pay even greater attention and read, learn and inwardly digest, all the information about co-cruisers so that I can hopefully win a little handout. One thing you have to know about Big CHeeser and I - he is happy to watch and not even take part, whereas I was brought up to believe that you don't stand on the sidelines, you get in their and WIN, and second place is not good enough. I was under a lot of pressure as a child. Why do you think I gave up skating competitively!?!?!

I spoke to Mary yesterday and asked how Bob's been feeling and she relayed a funny story that had happened over the weekend:

Bob did like he always does, kissing Mary goodnight, crawling into bed and falling to sleep. All of a sudden, he wakes up with an elderly man dressed in a cowl standing in front of his bed.
"What the heck are you doing in my bedroom?.. and who are you?" he asked.
"This is not your bedroom," the man replied, "I am St. Peter, and you are in heaven."
"WHAT!?? Are you saying I'm dead? I don't want to die.. I'm too young." said Bob. "If I'm dead, I want you to send me back immediately."
"It's not that easy", said St.Peter, "you can only return as a dog or a hen. You can choose on your own..."

Bob thought about it for a while, and figured out that being a dog is too tiring, but a hen probably has a nice and relaxed life. Running around with a rooster can't be that bad.
"I want to return as a hen." Bob replied. And in the next second, he found himself in a chicken run, really nicely feathered.
But man, now ! "he" felt like his rear end was gonna blow.. then along came the rooster.
"Hey, you must be the new hen on the farm." he said. "How does it feel?"

"Well, it's OK I guess, but it feels like my rear end is blowing up."
"Oh that!" said the rooster. "That's only the ovulation going on. Have you never laid an egg before??"
"No, how do I do that?" Bob asked.
"Cluck twice, and then you push all you can."
Bob clucked twice, and pushed more than he was good for, and then 'Plop' and an egg was on the ground.

"Wow" Bob said "that felt really good!"
So he clucked again and squeezed. And you better believe that there was yet another egg on the ground.
The third time he clucked, he heard Mary shout:
"Bob, for Gods sake wake up, you're making all over the bed.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Poor Bob, not only he drools but he plops too!!!!

Hey Nancy, about a million years ago and in another lifetime, I was a figure skater too. How long is it since you were on skates? For me, its about 30 years!!! I still have really vivid dreams of competing seriously and I can perform all my double jumps perfectly. WHen I stopped skating, nobody was doing triples.
PamPat - I haven't skated in a few years. I took it back up recreationally after I got married, then paused to have Megan, then started again when she was 9 months, then stopped again when preg. w/Emma. It's like riding a bike; as long as your fitness level is adequate (sp?), you can still do the jumps & spins - you never really lose the technique.

Wow! 2500 pins! Why did your DD stop her riding lessons. I rode when I was younger and loved it...still do. On the last cruise I went horsebackriding in MX with Sandy's DD. Western no less (they wouldn't let me do bareback to avoid that awful saddle.)
DD1 - She took weekly private lessons for about 6 months then slowly lost interest. I don't think she was bound for competitions; she just seemed to be doing it for fun. At $40 a pop, that's an expensive hobby and we could better use that money toward the cruise! She and I did do the trails ride in WDW in Nov. and she loved it! I considered doing a trail ride as an excursion on the PC cruise, but I think it will be too hot.

Okay! I am collecting all the information tidbits everyone provides about themselves and will put together a litte trivia quiz to hand out for everyone. Heck...I worked in the Disney Store for 7 years and probably have some "prizes" laying around.
I love this idea!! "Know Your Fellow Fool" or "Fools Clues" or "Name That Fool" or "Who Wants To Be A Foollionaire" or "Who's Fool Is It Anyway", etc. Okay, I'll stop now.

It's lovely to learn about some of the new names appearing, I hope to hear more about other soon!

Renee the name tags arrived yesterday and they look fabulous! Thank you so much! They quickly went into the 'Cruise' folder I have sitting by my computer.

Sorry I missed chat last night, either I have a little bug on top of this other tooth situation or this antiobiotic cocktail is making me very ill. I am so tired of this whole situation and hope to be feeling better soon - I have a lot to do this week! I wanted to talk about Accapulco too!

For those interesting in chatting and feel alientated by the eastern time slot, don't hesitate to pop into the chat room (and stay a few minutes) at later times. I think it would be great for others to join in on the tail end of the chat, or create their own. Lynn is correct, there seems to be nightly chat opportunities.

PamPat - you're my kinda gal. I'm fiercely competitive but like to think I'm a decent sport about it. Whenever we can create teams or make a game out of something I'm all for it!

Kmiles love the new link there babe - quite fetching.

I got a chance to watch John Perkins from his book talk in January on Cspan this morning. Has anyone read his book - Confessions of an Economic Hit Man? It looks pretty interesting.

Just got some pics in of the puppy .. here is Sammy! He is going to be neutered tomorrow morning!

I'm on the May repo cruise and was wondering about some things. We've had a real problem with handicap rooms being all taken, and now that we are booking excursions, with HA excursions.

I ended up calling the WDW special needs group and they transferred me directly to DCL for answers to my questions. So far, all the answers are no or probably not. Do you all have anyone needing special assistance rooms and/or wheelchair users? Just curious how attentive DCL is going to be on this issue.

Feel free to PM me if you have any theories/opinions on this so as not to take up space on your thread if you want. Thanks, Kelli

This (Mark's TOT pic) was discussed in chat last night and I just came across it in my reading so I thought I would put it up again:

Happy Fools Valentines Day:love:

The newsletter has been e-mailed to everyone you signed up with me. I sent it to the last address you sent to me. I did not put the entire file name together because of all the problems with the first edition. Remember to add .pdf to the end. I tried to do it in HTML but that was too much work and I lost all my formating so for now I'll stick to the PDF. If you don't get the e-mail, please check your spam filter or folder for it. If you get the e-mail but can't get the link to work, check my troubleshooting section for help.

If you have new things for the next newsletter, please PM or e-mail me. If you want to receive this newsletter and weren't on the list, please PM or e-mail me. Make sure you are listed on page one (PM Jazzman or Grumbo) before you ask me to add you to the list. Thanks!

Question about the wine tasting. I don't really drink (gives me a terrible headache) but Howard would be interested in going. Would it be a problem if I went anyway, eventough I may not be drinking anything?

Donna

Donna, not a problem. There may be something there that you are interested in. There are others that are not really into wine that are coming. Would you like me to sign you two up?

Tracy

Tracy-

I was checking out local wines-they are under $20 a bottle-should I find something else-I don't want to be a El cheapo ducko!

Dan

Dan are you sure you are not El_Wicked_Droopy or whatever his name is? I wouldn't be concerned about the cost of the wine. Bring something recommended from the local winery or something you've had and like. Of the wines I'm thinking of bringing, the most expensive one is $19.99. One of Diane Disney's wines though is $100 a bottle. Does that make it $80 better? Not necessarily. Now if it costs less than $5 a bottle, I'd question the quality. Not that it will be bad, but I would still question it! I've had some great bottles between $7 and $20. I rarely open a bottle over $20 (not that I don't, but most of those we save for special occasions or because they need to age).

Hope this helps!

Tracy
