Well how fun -- since Bonnie mentioned pets -- why not....

I have a dog named Nellie, a rabbit named Comet, a turtle named Capeheart and a lizard named Oberon. He had a wife named Nonnie, but she passed away. The dog is easy to find care for when we go away, but the reptiles and rabbit are another matter. And this year, being gone for three weeks, we are going to have to scramble to find enough coverage! But you make adjustments when you love pets but also love to travel. Thems the breaks...

Can't remember if I ever posted anything :confused3

So - It will be my sister & I on the cruise ..... leaving behind - her two kids- DS Eddie & DD Sara, 4 dogs - Bear, Nightmare, Trooper & Storm, & 3 cats - Nonnie, Tash, & Fagan. All of them managed to find their way to our house ... and never have left :sunny:

Happy celebrating to all that had B-Days & Anniversary's today ::MickeyMo

This exchange of information is really neat! Makes you all feel much more real to us. We know that some of you have met before and we feel a bit like interlopers.

Love the idea of a quiz! Does anyone else like that idea? Perhaps we could organise one? Give us some feedback.

THank you all who sent me the password...glad I got to join you all even though it was brief...now I will truly be addicted. :hyper2:

Great to find out stuff about people...it really does get you to know them better. All these animals!! And reptiles Cathy...you live in a really cool house. Love the idea of the turtle...not too crazy about lizards though!

More about me...one son, one DIL, one granddaughter. Son Son has his MA in music, places with a very popular cover band called Don't Call Me Francis :dancer: for those of you who live near me you may have heard of them. Also, plays withthe Lars Halle Jazz Orch:rockband: ...recently got a lot of air time on TV when they backed up a jazz singer with the Eagles fight song. He also teaches in PA. ..more about me later!

Enjoying my computer however really need to attempt to get the old one going :badpc: so I can at least get some more files off... busy day

Good morning everyone. I feel better today. Sorry I had to bug out so early last night. Anything interesting to report?

I'm not the only one leaving some of my family behind. I was feeling very guility. DH is a middle school administrator and the cruise falls during the last week before kids arrive and the first week of school. Since his school is on a military base that means a higher than normal number of families registering at the last minute. And, of course he is in charge of students schedules. DS 16 reports he is "Disneyed out" and won't be allowed to miss the first week of his senior year. It's a grade and responsibility thing. DD 19 will just be finishing her time in the CP and needs to get her car (and stuff) back to Maryland, beside catching up with all the folks she will have not seen for nine months. We will also be leaving behind Stridor an aptly named rescue Whippet and Garcia a fat tailed gecko that looks alot like a tie dyed shirt.

Second request....

A while back I asked for help about doing the chat -- and for the password. Haven't heard from anyone. Is the chat open to all -- or just a select few? Thanks,
Cathy

A little about us:

We are a family of four: Me, DH David, DD Megan 8 & DD Emma ~22 months.

I have been a full-time Mom ever since Megan was born. Before that, I was executive assistant to the CEO of a major university medical center. I have a BS in Math & a minor in engineering. I was a competitive figure skater before college. My Disney obesession began in 1999 with "the trip that started it all". I have ~2,500 Disney pins, but have slowed down my trading and collecting.

DH is owner/president of a company that sells tailoring and drycleaning supplies. The company was started by his Grandfather in 1940, then his Dad ran it and now he has been in charge for over 10 years. He has a huge comic book collection and his escape is playing first-person shooter computer games. He goes along with the Disney thing, but on every trip he says his favorite ride is the one on the airplane going home, LOL! He is really looking forward to the Panama trip even though it is on Disney.

Megan is in 2nd grade, loves animals not dolls and was taking horseback riding lessons up until recently. Emma is a very sweet almost 2yo who adores her sister and is a mama's girl.

We have 3 cats (Fuzz, Chunker & Rogue) and 2 kittens (Mickey & Minnie).

Gee - did I miss anything? :earboy2:

Hey Nancy, about a million years ago and in another lifetime, I was a figure skater too. How long is it since you were on skates? For me, its about 30 years!!! I still have really vivid dreams of competing seriously and I can perform all my double jumps perfectly. WHen I stopped skating, nobody was doing triples.

Ok...I'll chim in!!!

I am leaving my whole family behind (my hubby, a 21 DD who will be in college, a 20 DS who will also be in college and a 17 DD who is mad that she cannot come because her H.S. will not have started yet for the year!!!. I am cruising with two great friends...we all are obsessed with Disney and are so excited to be going on a girls trip...Hubby is not thrilled with the idea of me being gone for 2 weeks but I think/hope he is warming up to the idea...I hope so as I have been booked since day one of the ressies opening up and already have airfare and rental car booked!!! My friends and I all were on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic back in 1998 on the first official passenger sailing. My friend Susan has cruises DCL several times and I think this will be Cindy's third time on DCL. I have sailed 13 times on DCL and this repo cruise will be #14!!! I have also sailed Carnival, Princess, RCCL and we have an 8 day Carnival cruises booked for June 05 out of NYC...this will be a big reunion cruise with about 50 people.

I worked for TDS for 15 years but recently stopped when they were sold to Children's Place (no more discounted cruises...ba humbug!) I also work in a small law firm as a secretary. I will also be leaving my loveable 8 year old yellow lab (she's really white) named Daisy!!!

My one friend works in retail and the other works in telecommunications.

Just booked our rental for the day we get off the ship at Avis.com....got a full size (4 door) car with a code from mousesavers for only $50 including all taxes...cheaper than what Budget was offering. Our flight is leaving at 8:30 pm and we wanted a car to do some stuff during the day.

MJ (Mary Jane) :cloud9:

Okay! I am collecting all the information tidbits everyone provides about themselves and will put together a litte trivia quiz to hand out for everyone. Heck...I worked in the Disney Store for 7 years and probably have some "prizes" laying around.

Wow! 2500 pins! Why did your DD stop her riding lessons. I rode when I was younger and loved it...still do. On the last cruise I went horsebackriding in MX with Sandy's DD. Western no less (they wouldn't let me do bareback to avoid that awful saddle.)

Disneydudette....I also have a ton of stuff lying around from my store years....let me know if you want me to bring some stuff for prizes....I need to "let go" of some things that are just taking up room in my closet!!

MJ

Since I can lay claim to that as well. I was 4 months shy of my Donald pin when I left.

A little about us. DH, Ted, and I will be the ones cruising. We will be married for 30 years this March 8th. We have twin dd's age 24. One is married and is pregnant with twins the other is at home saving for a house. She has a great job in Human Resources with the Fed. govt. Hubby works for a City as a Right of Way Agent and I used to be a paralegal before the twins came around. Daycare was outrageous for twins! This is our 5th cruise, 3 of which we have cruise with the three Dudettes. One time we met at WDW. We all met on the DISboard in 2001 and have become more family than friends. No pets as we are avid RV'ers in the summer. We have had rabbits, birds, dogs and cats. It's not that we don't like animals but now we feel free to travel whenever we want to and not have to worry about them.

Hope to chat with you sometime. The time is never a good time for us. I think that the majority of you are Easterners and us out west are 2 hours earlier are doing the cooking or whatever.

It's great to see some new posters. Just an FYI. The "official" times for chat are not the only times that people are chatting in the chat room. Please check every night as most times, there are people chatting. You might just hit a time when you can say hello. If no one is there, please try again at another time. We'd love to have new chatters.
