NO CM PIN TRADING??!!?? :faint:

This will not do! There are many die hard pinheads going on this cruise!! (myself, Tinkerbel129, Ivanova, EyeRN, etc. come to mind)

Hopefully this is a temporary change and the CM trading will be reinstated when flu season is over.

Is it just the random trading around the ship with CMs wearing lanyards or were the pin trading sessions suspended, too?

~Nancy~

I'm guessing that this is probably just a temporary suspension. Disney has discovered a very lucrative business in the whole pin trading deal. Part of that is getting new people involved which is assisted throught the CM pin trading.

Grumbo shared this great info with me concerning rapids classification. I thought I would share it with the thread just in case others may be considering the excursion as well.

Thanks Grumbo!

<a href="http://www.lights.ca/waterways/rapids.htm">Rapids Classification</a>.

I think I'm pretty comfortable with a level 2 rapids on the excursion. Of course, once I actually see the river it could be a whole other story! :scared1:

With the amount of people on this thread alone we could plan a pin trading event ourselves. Any one want to set it up?? I'm sure JGE would be happy to sponsor it...Mark

I think Dan and Scott (or Scott and Dan) were talking about having a special "Ship of Fools" pin made up if there was enough interest. Perhaps they would be able to hed up any "Ship of Fools" pin meets! :)

We all know that if JGE is in on it they'll want their share. Probably a $25.00 cover charge. :rolleyes:

We would just like to say a big thank you for all your wonderful links to sites giving us information about ports of call and excursions. You all seem so far away as you are overseas to us (in the UK), and watching you all post messages and keep us up to date makes us feel a lot closer to you guys. Thanks so much for all your efforts.

Pin trading.................. I have a few old traders, I supposes I could donate them to the cause. JGE is in on everythings, aren't they!

Big Cheeser, that's what we are here for. We have to help each other out. How was the girly weekend?

I mailed my package today.....
Also disappointed about the pin trading, we have been hunting them down for awhile to trade on the cruise, I hope we can put something together if DCL doesn't changethe new policy.

Possible Bus To MCO after cruise-Update

Are there any more people interested yet?? Our total so far is 78, and there is room for 55 per bus.

If we use Mears Transportation and manage to fill the bus (capacity 55) the final cost will be $7.29 per person. If bus leaves the Port by 10:00am or so, it should put us at Orlando Airport by 11:00am. Cost for bus is 401.25 and tip is included as per my contact. Departing Airline is needed to make sure you are dropped off at correct side of terminal.

Some people have mentioned the bus times seem a little late. We can make our pick up time anytime we want and if we have 2 buses they can have different pick up times.

Also Bmwdsny is linking early dining, and EileenAmI is linking late dining, so that a few DISboard friends can eat at the same rotation and sit near each other. We have about 90 linked so far...Mark

Mark, our flight doesn't leave until 1:30. I'd like the bus to leave when originally scheduled because we are not in a rush to get to the airport. I'm assuming the bus will have A/C on while folks wait right? I just want to take my time debarking. One comment I have though is that you should set a time that the bus will absolutely leave by. The reason I say that is because let's say everyone is on the bus but one couple. Does the bus wait forever for them to board? What if we search for them but they can't be found? Another question I have is will the luggage be somehow tagged so that the driver knows what bags to take off as he/she stops at each side of the terminal?

Are all on my daughter's list. Looks like we will have to get in line at Shore excursions and pray the weather is right.

I need to get on the stick and research some non-Disney alternatives.

I look forward to hearing how the Westerners fare going to places like the beach on their own should they elect to do so. We're probably going to do Disney sponsored excursions though. The one nice thing about going to the beach on your own (if taxis are available) is that you can come and go as you please. We went to St. Thomas last January on Celebrity and took a cab which was fantastic. There were tons of cabs to take us back to the ship. It was nice to just relax on the beach for as long as we wanted to.

We've had the chance to do both Disney organized excursions and excursions on our own. Both have positives and negatives associated with them. Here's my thoughts:

Disney excursions are great because they require little effort required on the part of the guest. All transportation to and from the excursion is arranged; crew staff even make sure you get there with color and image coded stickers. Often include food and/or drinks. You don't have to research reputable vendors or haggle with prices.

Organizing your own can be a lot of fun too but it does require more work. You can save money compared to Disney organized sponsors (or not) but that varies.

Here's an interesting fact from AAA:

All beaches in Mexico are federally owned and are thus public. As in Grand Cayman, the public is able to access any beach-front property they wish, without charge.

Hey Marsha - thanks for the interest - the Isle of Woman was a lovely little PR stunt which has already passed by, but got the island (which is a mix of offshore finance and tourism) lots of column inches in national and international press.

WE're off out now to practice our dancing - ready for the Promenade lounge in August,

Cheers

Hello Kathy- Mears has not yet returned my calls as per luggage handling. For now I'll assume we are reponsible for our own. If we do decide to use 2 buses then we will definately have one leave about 1 hour earlier then the other to help those with earlier flights. I think the 10AM departure from the port is still good for most. As per my conversations with Mears, they do have A/C and also a bathroom on the bus. Whatever time we set for departure will be our departure time...Mark

"Borrowed" this idea from the May thread and did a Google to find a couple of Pirate Name Generators:

I'm now Mad Dog Bonney - Part crazy, part mangy, all rabid, you're the pirate all the others fear might just snap soon. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

According to <a href="http://www.fidius.org/quiz/pirate/">What's My Pirate Name?</a>

Thanks kmiles!

I'm Dirty Prudentilla Rackham - the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

<div>
My pirate name is:
</div>
<div style="font-size:32px;">
Calico Jenny Rackham
</div>
<img src="flag.gif" style="top:5px; position:relative; display:block; width:100px; background-color:#320;" />
<div style="left:110px; top:-60px; width:290px; position:relative; text-align: justify;">
Often indecisive, you can't even choose a favorite color. You're apt to follow wherever the wind blows you, just like Calico Jack Rackham, your namesake. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!
