So you guys have gone and corrupted Sandy. She sent in a photo after all. I guess I can't be completely mad at her. She didn't send in one without the make-up. It's a shame that it's about 4 years old and I've lost about 40 pounds since that photo was taken. I'm sure she'll be having fun posting more candid photos of me as we get closer to sailing. I guess I held up my end of the bargain and now you-know-who has to start his trip report...Mark

Thanks Val! I am saving those to peruse. They would be good to use in Tracy's e-mail newsletter too.

Good job, and appreciate it!

Hey--while we've been on the topic of eating food at the ports--I thought I'd tell you about an article that was in yesterday's (Sun) Orlando Sentinel. (I just tried to do a search for the article and couldn't find it).
The jist of it was about a man who returned home after having been in Mexico (I believe) for a while and comitted suicide by jumping off his car while it was driving through traffic. I just skimmed the article but it looks like he got onto the hood/top of his car and jumped off to his death. They are linking it to a parasite that they feel he got after maybe eating something undercooked (pork) while in Mexico and it drove him to insanity??
WEIRD AND GROSS!!!

198 Days!!! We're flying now!

And to think that the Westbound cruisers are coming up on double digits. That's got to be very exciting for them!

We went to Disney on Ice yesterday afternoon and had a great time. Good thing I brought Haley's light chaser that I bought at the Disney Store with us, because they were selling them for $18.00 (I paid $5.00)! :earseek: The programs weren't bad - they were $10.00, but the rest of the stuff was really marked up. We had great seats - Row 9 and towards the corner of the ice. That wound up being great since all the characters hung out and performed at our end. That was the first time I've ever been to a Disney on Ice show and would definitely go back again. Haley loved it since a lot of the characters were there. We go to Sesame Street Live in March, but somehow I don't think it'll be the same.

We've gone to two of the Disney on Ice shows in the past and what bugs me is that all the music and voices are all taped. I have a hard time getting past that.

On Disney's official website it is showing availabilty on our cruise for a Catagory 4, 5, 6 & 7. Don't know if anybody was on a waitlist for a different cabin.

No more pin trading with CMs on the ships due to the recent flu outbreaks.

Never thought of the pins as being a great way to spread illness but it's true. I wonder if this is just a temporary thing or if Disney has decided to stop it for good.

OK, anyone solidly decided on any excursions yet?

As of right now, I am sure I want to do this one:

Papagayo River Rafting Adventure (5.5 - 6 hours)

What a rush! Brave the rapids on an adventurous rafting excursion that takes you through a scenic canyon carved by the spectacular Papagayo River. Your adventure begins after an approximate 1-hour trip to Pueblo Bravo, where you'll enjoy a tasty coconut drink before receiving rafting instructions and safety gear. After boarding the raft, your expert guide will take you on an exciting river journey of approximately 2 hours amid intricate rock formations, soaring cliffs and exotic wildlife. You'll paddle through Category 2 rapids that end in a thrilling rush of whitewater. After your adventure, it's an approximate 5-minute ride back to Pueblo Bravo, where a lunch awaits before the approximate 75-minute return trip to the ship.

Water shoes or heel-strap sandals must be worn during this excursion.

Adult Price: $99
Child Price: $NA
Departure Times:
14N Eastbound: 7:45 am, 11:15 am

Never done it before but it looks FUN! :umbrella:

There is some interesting reading about Acapulco here:

Acapulco Thread

Within the thread is info about night time cliff diving opportunities.

I haven't decided on any excursions yet, but I am enjoying researching them!

NO CM PIN TRADING??!!?? :faint:

This will not do! There are many die hard pinheads going on this cruise!! (myself, Tinkerbel129, Ivanova, EyeRN, etc. come to mind)

Hopefully this is a temporary change and the CM trading will be reinstated when flu season is over.

Is it just the random trading around the ship with CMs wearing lanyards or were the pin trading sessions suspended, too?
