The ones that really annoy me are the radio stations that play Christmas music from either right after or before Turkey Day, and stop at 6 PM on Christmas night. Like Christmas ends almost without warning. I'd like to hear it for at least a day or so after. I think the topper was last Christmas. The first song the radio played after 6 PM was Easter Parade. That is just wrong. :tilt:

Of course, that was a rhetorical questions! You will never, EVER catch me putting up my Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving! I always hate it when I go to a mall the day after Halloween and the Christmas stuff is up. I mean, come on! At least give us a few weeks!

Ok ok, relax!! i agree with you all!! I don't normally put up Christamas stuff until at least after, DEC 1st, always!!I don't even listen to Christmas Songs until after T day too..... But this is an exception due to my upcoming trip!! and next weekend is shot, because it is my sister baby's shower in New Jersey, so i had to do this week!
Oh, please, my fool friends, you have to understand that!!! LOL!! :worship:

My other biggest beef about Christmas is the people leave Christmas deco on, way after Christmas is over!! Some people leave on all year long!! Now i HATE that!!! Mine goes down on New Years Day...No exception!! (unless of course, i may be in WDW one year on New Years, which that would be nice someday!!):teeth:

Here is an early greeting for my fool friends just to annoy you...

MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Santa arrived in one of our local malls on 11/3! I can remember when you wouldn't see anything about Santa until the end of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. I'm not taking Haley to see him until sometime in December. To me November is too early for all this. Pretty soon, he'll be out in July like the Hallmark Christmas ornaments.

That is for Marketing purposes!!
(I know that because my DH who was my finace at the time, worked part time as Santa Claus one year, to earn extra $$$ (I know, isn't that funny?? and he wasn't even heavy either and had to added on lots and lots of padding))

But anyway, it is to remind everyone to go out and buy gifts early for Christmas!! The earlier, the more products to buy!!!
I think it is ridiculous!!!

Unless of course it is the Disney Version of Easter Parade!LOL

I remember one year I left my stuff up until almost the end of March! I did not want to freeze my pootootie off! Actually my Super threatened to take them down if I didn't. She finally did so all I had to do was put them away!

I usually leave them up until January 15th! I celebrate Christmas again on January 7th and then New Year's again on the 14th of January!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ONE AND ALL!loL

I only decorate early because it is my favorite time of year--the outside won't be decorated till after Turkey day due to HOA rules. I have to agree w/ Melinda. I can't stand people that keep decorations up (i.e.lights) all year------LAZY!!!
You all may think I'm crazy for decorating early--but--guess what??? While all you "fools" are shopping, decorating, etc last minute.....hear this: I AM DONE SHOPPING, TOO!!:p
Seriously though--we figure this will be the first Christmas that Addison will be excited about (last year at 8 months--the Christmas lights were completely boring to her!!) it all......and my plan was to get decorating and shopping done before Thanksgiving for a few reasons.

1. I have six brothers and sisters, their spouses, and kids to buy for. My parents. Shawn's mom, dad, step-mom, brother, sister, and 2 neices. My best friend and her husband. And then my husband (Shawn) and Addison. Can we say $$$$$! So the earlier I start--I can split it amongst a few cred. card billing cycles. We don't keep balances on out c/c's--and this way come afterwards--we're not paying huge bills.

2. I want to have all the hustle and bustle done so come the day after T-giving up till Christmas--I can actually enjoy the season and experience it all with my daughter and through her eyes! I can sit at the mall and sip hot chocolate by the fountain and enjoy watching others frantically "enjoy the season". (Trust me--I worked a few Christmas's at my friend's shop in the mall to help her out--and people were AWFUL!!!!).

3. And last but not least--my mom, dad, 2 sisters and their husband/boyfriend leave on the Magic the 28th. My husband, daughter, and myself are cat/dog/house-sitting for my parents (yes--the HUGE pool party is still on for the week izzinmac is gone, guys). So I won't be home for 7 days to decorate.

SO I'M HAPPY THAT I'M CRAZY!!!!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS!! Good thing you weren't my neighbor!!! You will P**s me off!! LOL!!!!!!

We put the lights up on the back raised patio a week or two ago only because it was warm.
If it is warmer Sunday I'll put the rest up out front. I know DW will want them on right away, but hopefully we'll wait a few weeks for that.
Yeah Janet DW gets the Ukrainian Christmas and New Year off with the Government (Unbelievable  ) MIL does all the meatless dishes and stuff. I just grunt and say pass the cabbage rolls :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Hey guys, Bob does have a pool!! Remember fools, he is having that Post Cruise party at his house after we get off the cruise, so wear your bathing suits to there!!

Oh, i forgot to tell you before...My mom called me earlier and and told me that she spoke to her employee (my mom is an owner of a flower business) and he just got back from the Panama Cruise this week on another Cruise Line. He asked When are we going to Panama and my mother said, "August" and he said, 'OMG,.you are going to sweat big time, because it was hot and humid last week there"!! My mom said, Melinda, we need to prepare to sweat", so i said, "Well, mom there is still that Drunk and Naked party that you can always go to!!" she said, 'NO THANKS, i rather sweat instead!!":crazy2: oh well, i tried!!

Happy Friday everyone! I'm posting before "reading" today. It's a gorgeous, just absolutely gorgeous day here in Southern California! I hope it is this way when you visit in August, though it will be warmer that is for certain.

As I was putting away some Christmas gifts, I jammed to some "Outkast."

So, I'm wondering - what type of music is the "Ship Of Fools" going to dance to?! We're eclectic listeners, but are partial to good old Rock N' Roll.

Anyone care to share?

Barbara :)

Hi Barbara,

Good ole Rock n Roll is good to me!! I love 50;s and 60;'s, too...

I like to see the guys do the Electric Slide and the Macaenra!!! LOL!!!

Boy, BIG HEADLINES in your area!! Scott Peterson found guilty, 1st Degree too!!!!I thought they would convict him, but maybe 2nd degree...
I always thought he did it, anyway, from the very beginning!!!!!!!!

Sounds good to me Melinda, I also cannot wait to see the guys dancing, lol!

Yes, it's a big day here in CA - Glad they got him...what a tragedy...

Sounds like you are having a holiday day, and I for one think you are very smart for preparing prior to your trip...lucky you to be going on vacation soon!!! When you return, you can come home and enjoy the spirit of the season!

Won't be the same while you are gone, maybe we should all take a "thread vacation" while you are gone, lol!

Happy holiday preps. everyone, the only Christmas thing I'm doing right now is the shopping as I hate crowds and picked over merchandise, the early bird gets the best choices, ;)

Barbara

Hi Arlene,

You are one smart cookie re: time changes and eating times! I had not even thought of that only that we did AOK on our last cruise and enjoyed the shows before dinner. Our children are older though, but we will take a nap/quiet time with dd every afternoon this time as we were pooped when we returned last cruise.

I sure am going to miss being with the Ship of Fools at early dinner though. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

TGIF!!!

Barbara (PS Too funny and what a small world about your brother and sis-in-law's names!!! We are called "B2" in our family and have a J2, D2, M2, and K2 too, lol!)

Good idea Mandy...while the pool guests are here maybe someone will find that damned water moccasin that is hiding somewhere in the pool area!

Hey Bob we'll volunteer Mark to help you find your pool footwear. In fact if he finds it we'll let him wear it while at your place :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Grumbo,...What a guy!!! Here's Mark always trying to horn in on JGE, and you come along with an offer like that!! Makes me proud to know you!!!

Sometimes I'm the funniest guy I know...

On another thread,
MELISAZACK asks: What movies are playing on the 11/28 Wonder?

O&WMOMreplies: You can call 800-325-2500, choose res. and find out what movies are playing approx. 1 week before you leave.

MELISAZACK comes back with: THAT NUMBER GOES TO NATION WIDE INSURANCE.....LOL...

I reply: Too bad it wasn't GEICO...you could have saved yourself $300 on your insurance.

I just crack me up!!!

Bob I KNOW we're going to get along well. You have the same stupid warped sense of humour (humor) as me. :hyper:

Cheers,
Grumbo
