I only decorate early because it is my favorite time of year--the outside won't be decorated till after Turkey day due to HOA rules. I have to agree w/ Melinda. I can't stand people that keep decorations up (i.e.lights) all year------LAZY!!!
You all may think I'm crazy for decorating early--but--guess what??? While all you "fools" are shopping, decorating, etc last minute.....hear this: I AM DONE SHOPPING, TOO!!
Seriously though--we figure this will be the first Christmas that Addison will be excited about (last year at 8 months--the Christmas lights were completely boring to her!!) it all......and my plan was to get decorating and shopping done before Thanksgiving for a few reasons.
1. I have six brothers and sisters, their spouses, and kids to buy for. My parents. Shawn's mom, dad, step-mom, brother, sister, and 2 neices. My best friend and her husband. And then my husband (Shawn) and Addison. Can we say $$$$$! So the earlier I start--I can split it amongst a few cred. card billing cycles. We don't keep balances on out c/c's--and this way come afterwards--we're not paying huge bills.
2. I want to have all the hustle and bustle done so come the day after T-giving up till Christmas--I can actually enjoy the season and experience it all with my daughter and through her eyes! I can sit at the mall and sip hot chocolate by the fountain and enjoy watching others frantically "enjoy the season". (Trust me--I worked a few Christmas's at my friend's shop in the mall to help her out--and people were AWFUL!!!!).
3. And last but not least--my mom, dad, 2 sisters and their husband/boyfriend leave on the Magic the 28th. My husband, daughter, and myself are cat/dog/house-sitting for my parents (yes--the HUGE pool party is still on for the week izzinmac is gone, guys). So I won't be home for 7 days to decorate.
SO I'M HAPPY THAT I'M CRAZY!!!!!!!
