I don't think this would qualify as a "Family" activity!LOL

But then again, any of the activities we have planned aren't really "Family" oriented anyways!

After people saying how high their quotes for Budget were at Port Canaveral I called them last night and went over my quoted price and why it was so much cheaper than what was being shown on the net. He said there was NO discount on my price, BUT that the number of vehicles available had reduced and for that reason the prices had increased.
I find that a bit hard to fathom being 10 - 11 months out but that was Budget's reasoning.

As much as I dislike Budget, they may be telling the truth. Since this is a "one way" cruise, no one will have their own transport waiting at the port. So all those cars normally in the lot will not be there, and travelers need another way out. Its either disney transfers or some other rental. This may be a case where early reservations will matter. Hope I can find someone in the family to pick us up!!

Yeah I am going to get off immediately and just get the shuttle and get the vehicle. I'll let the rest of the group deal with the luggage etc. (I'm pretty sure I can leave without the luggage can't I. Never thought about that before), get over pick up the vehicle and then scoot back to the ship.
You're right though Bob no one except for possibly locals will have wheels there so its going to be a lot of car rentals, limos and busses that day. Not leaving until Sunday so don't have to get too concerned about time.

Hmmm, maybe I will buy transport from DCL from the port to MCO and get my car there.

Or maybe I will stick my thumb out and see if anyone will stop!

I'm sure all of the rental companys are going to be drained of their cars due to that very reason. I suggest that we hurry to their offices after our cruise to get the proper sized car we reserved. Unlike MCO, the smaller locations just don't have the inventory. I need at least a minivan for our party of 6. I can't settle on a smaller car even if that's all they have left...Mark

Does any one living local know of any companys that have coach type buses for hire??

Oh Bob is just annoyed because he has to host a party for us when we get off the cruise and he hasn't yet told Mary yet!! LOL!!Too bad he is going on the 11/27 cruise...I am going on the 11/28 cruise!!! I could have have made his life miserable!! LOL


Anyway, i agree with Grumbo...there is probablry very limited cars at the rental place. I am glad i did mine already the other night with Avis...BIG Thanks to Mark!

I have this visual of izzi (don't even know what he looks like yet) with a little devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other shoulder - I think we got the angel whispering at him on this board and the ship of fools got the devil. I quess though we get to meet the real thing really soon so we will see how which one tends to control him more! Besides how many children (even grown ones did you say you had Izzi!- you were doing something to keep you busy on those hot Florida nights. Keeps you out of trouble. LOL

Man o Man, I feel like the new Rodney Dangerfield (RIP). Just can't get no respect around here. I was being a very good boy on my other cruise, passing along nice info about full moons, and along comes Grumbo!!! Everything went to hell in a handbasket after that!!! Doesn't that man have anything to do at work??? He wastes more time on these boards than I do. He shows up everywhere!!!

Mark...I'm very reluctant to do this, but hoping and praying it avoids any picture posting. There is a local shuttle service that I've seen around, and I understand some of the Cocoa hotels use them to the port. We almost used them last year when we had 22 in our group, but cancelled when we had too many different groups coming from different directions. Anyway there rates were good, and they seemed very professional. They have a website www.artsshuttle.com You may want to set something up now!
