Hey Aunty Brat, You could do a theme wig.

If that won't do, Grumbo has so selflessly sent me a couple of photos of himself modeling some wigs for Aunty Brat. What a great guy he is.

I just showed my daughter and she fell to the floor laughing. She can't believe I would actually wear something like that!!! I guess we will have to show her. I think wearing a FABULOUS wig like that to family kareoke night or too the teen club kareoke night and singing a song, just for my little cherub!!! This idea is getting better and better....

Although, I think I need to see Mark and Jazzman's suggestions, just to make it fair.

Or course, this means I will have to get a formal that matches...decisions decisions!!

Welcome Wiskas to our insane group. If you look on the first page the first message has all the links to all the things to sign up on, whos going where with whom, dining times, you know.... all the personal stuff we want to know.

Auntybrat, I think the wig wearing kareoke teen singing mom is a great idea. Glad to hear your chemo is going well. I hope the next go round is easy and that you don't have any bad side effects.

In support of Auntybrat, I think we ALL need to bring a wild wig for a special DIs meet!

My plans were to do this from home this weekend, when things got back to normal. But "normal" never came! Is anyone else sick of this summer!! My DSL was supposed to be back up the 17th - now the 24th!! So I'll do this from work... and from my memory- so you are in trouble already!!

Anyone interested in Hojo can book through the website link below and will get the 15% discount. Here are the rates they offer on this link.

Room Type NK1, 1 King bed, No theme park view. $67.15 with discount. This is the category that CAN face I-5, but HoJo has stated anyone using this special link will get the best rooms available in the category.

Room type NQQ1, 2 queen beds, Premium Balcony Upper floors with DL view. $84.15 with discount

Room Type NQQ2, 2 Queen beds Deluxe with pool view, No Theme Park View. $ 79.90 with discount.

The link to reservations is
http://www.hojoanaheim.com/mouseinfo/

You can see the room layouts/hotel map by clicking on the green diagram in the upper right of that link before making reservations.

For those who are undecided and want more info, here are some reviews. HoJo seems to get consistently high reviews. We planned to use it based on our visits many years ago when our kids were younger. We loved it then, but I was worried how it had held up/changed over the years. It seems to have done better than me!
This first link compares it to other hotels in the same vicinity. It had the highest rating and the most reviews. Actually, it was rated higher than all hotels in the DL area the last time I checked- even the DL hotels. Of course, the expectations are different for a full service DL hotel versus a smaller off site hotel. But HoJo seems to be holding together!

BTW, put "Ship of Fools" in your comments if you book. That will give them an idea of how many of us use it.

Regarding shuttle service, I did get the name of a service that can provide transport to the port. I think we can make this work for anyone staying in the DL area regardless of hotel. Highest rate is $18 per person, but can go down to about $11 per person if we use a larger bus with more in the group. Let me know if you are interested. If you want to do this on your own, I can provide the company info. Just can't remember it now

Since my DSL and home email is down, anyone who needs more info can contact me at rolane@oceanspray.com

Grumbo,
Thanks! I'm in the grapefruit side of the business. (Not too many cranberry bogs in Florida.) This coming season's grapefruit crop was virtually destroyed by Frances. We had a picture in today's paper showing groves with the ground completely covered by fallen grapefruit. Doesn't look very promising for any processing this season!

Oh Oh, here comes the OT police!!! I'm outahere!!

I've been tring to stay away from this thread only because we are still uncertain if we can afford it.
So today I called DCL and cancel our 3 days stay at WDL and air with them. Then I called Costco to transferred our ressies. They gave us a $516. savings over DCL. It's looking better for us to go, now just have to see what air is going to cost us before we can say we're there for sure.
I guess we'll have to wait till Feb. for airfare rates to come out.

Let's hope and pray that next summer is better than this one for all of us.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!
Auntybrat: I booked our return flight with Air Canada. I think yesterday might have been the first day I could book for Sept 3. (something like 356 days before I think). Used all our saved up points - but abit worried if Air Canada goes bankrupt by then, maybe we'll be stranded in Florida!
We have stayed at HoJo once in DL. It was very nice. Beautiful grounds/gardens. Nice outdoor pool. Very clean:)

Welcome, Whiskers!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :jester:

You must be a fellow Canadian if you booked your return with Air Canada! I've been looking at their airfares as well and the Tango fare to get to LAX looks pretty good right now. I'll have to check the return from MCO. I'm feeling fairly confident they'll still be flying this time next year. They're emerging from their "bankruptcy protection" at the end of this month and have secured new financing, so they should be all right for awhile.

Ginger, I think that you have a good plan. Airfare through the cruise lienes is usually a LOT more than self booking. But if you have to cancel, you have to meet us all when we return. I think there are quite a few of us who will be staying in the world for a few days after we return. Kinda easing into our land legs!

Bankruptcy is a bite in the butt! We are flying to WDW next month on Delta FF miles. I hope the stay in business till then!

For all of you Canadians, JGE is putting on "No Frills" flights from YYZ to LAX and MCO. We have an 8-track sound system and you'll notice the aircraft are top notch.
Prices will be out soon.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Here are some of our fleet.

JGE Enterprises can't be worse than some of the Toronto-based charters I've flown with over the years!

We'll probably end up with JetsGo into Las Vegas and back from Orlando with them or Tango or Air Transat.
The Tango flights to Las Vegas are very expensive.
I used Jets Go for our trip this summer and although the seating could have been better it was on time and helluvalot cheaper than Air Canada.
Still along way off yet anyway so not too worry.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to stop in and say hi and say sorry I haven't been posting much here. Been pretty busy getting ready for our cruise in 2 weeks (that is if there are any islands left to cruise to, lol).

We're still on for this cruise. I've been looking at airfare since Continental has their pricing out, but I might wait to see about Southwest out of Philly to get a better deal. We changed our ressies at the Holiday Inn. I wound up getting a better rate (and a suite) by booking on their website. Only catch is that I had to pay in full and pay a $25 cancellation fee if we cancel, which we won't be doing. We're also thinking of renting a car for out there instead of doing the shuttle so now I have to check that out. Of course, I will start to work on all this when we get home from our current cruise.

Hope everyone stays safe and dry.

Another busy weekend getting the house unpacked from moving.

Saturday is DD Kaleigh's 2nd birthday and party. So I have to get ready for that.

Denine - I can't believe that Kaleigh is two already! Why it seems that only yesterday..........

Well it looks like we are "grandfathered" that we don't have to pay the final balance until the 60 days before...BUT here is the zapper....Those new ressies who has 90 day final balance will be able to book excursion 90 days before, 60 days will still be for us... Well, i guess we can't have our cake and eat it too!!!
If we pay 90 days out we can book excurions 90 days out ... so although we're grandfathered DCL found a way to get us to part with our money sooner than we "have" to (although we can still cancel 60 days out because we are grandfathered). For anyone wanting to do a "popular" excurions (like dolphins in Curacao) paying 90 days out might be important.

Two-foxes, I sent you a PM because I might be interested in your cabin.
Let me know if this works - our TA told us that when a family in our group cancelled their ressie, we couldn't put someone else in the room, that DCL won't "allow" it (basically we'd be bypassing their wait list which they don't want us doing).

And on a side note - I really should keep AuntyBrat reigned in better. ::yes::
