Thank you Paul...you know you are only giving more points to the Sisterhood by doing this, right?!!!

Has anyone seen this underwater camera? Dh may scuba dive since we have enough hours at some of the ports...I prefer it to be family time at the ports, but hey, how often do opportunities like these arise? Guess I need to be a good wife and compromise a bit...he deserves some special fun...scuba diving is a passion for him, albeit an old passion.

Anyway, check this out - good price, flash, and good depth. It's from another thread:

I actually have this one. We used it in the pool to try it out before our cruise and got pretty good pictures both on land and in the water. I can't say how the pics came out from Castaway Cay since Costco managed to ruin that roll along with 2 others. I was so upset since that was Haley's first cruise and first time to Disney World. They offered me free developing the next time. I said no "thank you" and now just get my digital pics printed there.

Hi Renee

Welcome back! :grouphug: Your weekend at Hershey sounds like it was a lot of fun!!!

I can't believe Costco ruined your film - that would be SO disappointing!!!!!

Question about the camera - can you actually change the film in it and re-use it? I can't seem to find one like that here in Canada. I may need to make plans to get one in the States somehow if it actually works like that! I've always wanted one with a flash, and the underwater "disposables" here are $14.99 each without flash.

Have a good day!

Arlene,

Yes, you can reuse the camera. If you want, I can check the Target near me to see if they have one and send it to you. Let me know. I think I paid about $20 US money.

Hi Barbara! What a good wife you're being, allowing Brian to use some port time to go diving! Martin is also a passionate scuba diver, although the opportunities have been VERY limited since Lara was born and we've never been away without her. He would also love to dive, but feels guilty going without me and giving up some "family" time in port. (I'm also a certified diver; we took many Caribbean dive vacations before Lara)

Here's an idea for you: Why don't we let them go diving in a couple of ports and make our own "family" trip - two "sisters" and three kids! The DD's will already know each other from the Lab so I'm sure they'll have a good time together. Sorry I don't have a companion for your DS - we'll have to choose an activity that could appeal to him. Let me know what you think!

Thanks so much for offering! I think there's a Target store in Buffalo (which is close to the Canadian border). I may try to go over the holidays. If I don't get there, I'll let you know and take you up on your generous offer.

Have a good one!

I know we are ALL busy but I have been working in order to have time off before Christmas. I only have to work tomorrow & Wednesday & then I am off until Christmas. :jumping2: There isn't any way I can catch up on all the postings so someone will have to give me the "HIGHLIGHTS" & especially if there is anything I need to know, reserve, etc. regarding the cruise :boat: . We have our $89.00 Philadelphia to LA reservations with Frontier on 8/17/05, staying with my daughter in Long Beach (she just moved into a duplex) & planning on her being my chauffer. Are we meeting in Disneyland before the cruise? Still don't know what's happening after the cruise. We may have to just fly home due to work obligations :guilty: .

I thought it was interesting reading about the reservations in Las Vegas since my daughter is getting married July 16, 2005, in the Paris Casino so I am going to follow their advice!

I AM GETTING VERY EXCITED :jumping2: You have to know me to understand how excited the holidays make me feel. Hope you all are ready for SANTA! have a great week. Will be back on Thursday. Toodles  :earboy2: JEANNE

JEANNE

Hey Jeanne,

I think a bunch of us are on the same flight going to LAX. Maybe we'll have a DIS meet on the plane! I booked Frontier out of Philly on 8/17 too since it was so much cheaper than Newark. I think our flight leaves at 9PM. Is that when your flight leaves?

Reneé

To help with the Sisterhood alliance :guilty: But its been busy with work at my p/t retail job.

Our house can now be used as a reference marker for planes heading into the NY airports :smooth: thanks to the hard work of my nephew & rest of the family.

Perhaps the men should have swim through the locks during our transit of the canal :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I get the impression there will be quite a few cruisers at DL/DCA before the cruise .... only 8 months to go!

Yep. My flight is 9:10 PM on the 17th from Philadelphia so we are together. We will all have to wear something lime green or our cruise t-shirts or something to distinguish our fellow cruisers. We probably could have "chartered" the plane. I only hope they don't change this flight. Frontier already changed my New Year's Eve flight but they were very cooperative with changing it again for me.

RENEE: Tell me what you are doing about the flight home. Have you booked anything? Are you going to WDW? I am still fare searching for Orlando-Philadelphia. It makes me crazy that I can fly to California for $89.00 but have to pay $100+ to get home from Orlando!

I am so excited about so many things I need to tone it down. Only two more days of work! Have a great day. Toodles all. Can you feel the love :grouphug: ? JEANNE  :earboy2:

Jeanne,

We're going to Busch Gardens after the cruise so we're going to fly to Newark from Tampa on 9/5. I think I paid $130 for each of us on Continental, not too bad, but I didn't want to wait. Good thing since now that flight is $154 each.

Reneé

Renee,
Welcome back!! Glad you had a good time at Hershey. We go there sometimes at Christmas time but didn't go this year, since we are park out (gee wonder why??)(LOL) and also, my kids prefer to go the Halloween time since the roller coasters is still opens during that time. They feel the rides are too babyish for them at Christmas time! I have never stayed at the Lodge but stayed at Springhill Suites which is right there.

That is funny you are flying back from Tampa on the 5th,.....My aunt lives there. We were thinking of flying home from there to Newark but decieded against it...After being away 3 weeks, we just would want to get home and not draw it out any longer.

Ta Ta

We are also on the 8/17 flight from Philly to LAX. We have rented a van with a one-way drop off in Long Beach and will be staying near DL until we get on board. We decided to wait until Sunday, 9/4 to book return flights (just in case there are any problems with the weather).

:cat:

We are back from 4 great days at WDW and one at Universal. Melinda, sorry we missed you at MVMCP but we couldn't even find the friends we were with. Quite a crowd. But still got to see the parade and the fireworks. As usual they were so much better than EPCOT. We also saw the lights at MGM (WOW!) and the Candlelight Procession at EPCOT. They was really great. The decorations were beautiful and the snow a great addition. Of course now we are home I still have my cold and can't really believe that last Tuesday and Wednesday I was wearing shorts. Cold windy and sunny here.
Now all we have to do are put up the rest of the decorations and start shopping. Have not started yet. Oh well I still have 11 days.

Estelle--

You just missed our cold weather here in Central Florida. A cold front has come through and now we're all wearing gloves, snow caps, and winter coats. Well, the Floridians are anyway. Our friends from up north are still happy in a pair of jeans and a long-sleeve shirt! :D

Wow Estelle I think you could win on Survivor!!!!
Here is a snippet of the pm I received from Estelle yesterday.

Thanks for the information Grumbo. Had a great time in Florida. Do you know we actually saw Melinda (BMWdsny) at MVMCP but luckily was able to hide. She had a laptop in one hand and a turkey leg in the other and looked like she was loaded for bear. Anyway let me...... rest deleted

I think Estelle is having selective amnesia here.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Has everybody been stuffing their piggie banks for the cruise tips? I just realized that for our family of 4 we're looking at over $600.

I was thinking of just giving a nice thank you card. I mean, it's the thought that counts anyway, right? :bitelip:

Just kidding!

Yeah that IS scary isn't it.
Paid off the cruise and put the money on my parent's onboard account for a Christmas present last week. NOW have to start saving for spending money and other stuff.
I'm still not sure if I am going to do the REAS or not.
Sounds like there will be lots of times available over a 14 day period. Anyone else doing REAS?

Cheers,
Grumbo

I don't think we'll do REAS. I think there will be plenty of times for Palo seatings especially since there are so many sea days. I wonder if Disney will still only allow one booking for Palo when you board???? I also think there will be lots of open slots for the spa. I'd rather wait and see what the activities are before booking.

I've thought about this too. I'm sure they will allow guests to dine at Palo more than once on the 14-night but I wonder how they're going to handle the reservation process.

After having been on so many cruises on the Magic we generally know what nights and days we wish to have dinner, brunch, and high tea at Palo. But not knowing anything about the schedule for the 14-night will make it much more difficult to plan!

I want to look at the May Personal Navagators to get an idea but at the same time I don't because I want everything to be a surprise!
