August 2, 2011 disney dream

 just realized that all "dictators" were my neighbors..... the birthplace of evil is in Europe....., well, we have to show how nice and civilized Europeans today can be. At least Switzerland did not bring up such an evil guy, ufff.

We will bring lots of sweet chocolate to show that we are "friends". :grouphug: See you soon

ich freu mich so Eu bald alli zgseh (means so much looking forward to seeing you all soon)

Oh, please don't be offended! I didn't mean to upset you.

My DH is of Dutch-German ancestry. His grandfather was born in Germany, and came to America when he was 3, so we are definitely NOT anti-Europe!

In fact, my parents are from China and I think the WORST dictator of all time was Chinese (Mao Tse-tung)!

As for the Swiss, I think you have the BEST chocolates! YUM!!

We will see, we will be the guinea pigs and after this cruise a lot will be much clearer. So lets do our best, my best friend gave me the advise to just bring a bottle of great italian grappa and I will be in a very good mood for sure. My DH Urs would prefer a fine old single malt. :dance3:

This sounds good too!:thumbsup2:drinking1

Here's an idea! Those of us who have a port arrival time of 10:30 or 11 and are making our own way to the port should show up at 10am with drinks and have a mini dis meet/party if they won't let us in.:rotfl2:

Deb, :grouphug:, really no problem, was just joking, honestly. You can not imagine how much I enjoy be a part of this DISmeets group and reading your threads. :flower3: and sure I bring yummie Swiss chocolate.

You have a great family combination, I love that, your kidds have a great mixture of ethical histories. Wow, what language did the two of you speak with your kidds.

Of course I will bring yummie swiss chocolate,

Okay, I just spent the last couple of hours trying to get Alyssa and her friends set up in line at the theater for the mid-night showing of Harry Potter.

After I dropped them off around 10:30 I found out I had a slow leak in my tire so had to take the car to the dealer and now I need a new tire.:headache:
The I came home and made lunch to take up to the girls and when I did it started raining.:umbrella: So then I had to run back home again to get more towels and blankets and take them up to the girls. Now I am finally back home so I can relax a little before I go up to the theater later tonight.

Does your daughter speak german/deutche(i hope i spelled that correctly) I use to be our german translator at work. My daughter knows some but not alot. Unfortunately I only remember to basics and enough to have a small conversation.

LeiLani, our son Mark is begging to go to the midnight showing tonight!

But his dad and I both have to work at 8 in the morning. Mark was hoping his big sis would take him, since she finishes up her Western Civilization final tonight, but she says she wants to come home and relax and doesn't want to go out - and she's pretty pooped from staying up studying.

So, I just bought tickets online to the 4 pm Saturday 3D showing!!
Can't wait!!

Since I was born and raised in the US, we all pretty much just speak English.
But my parents speak Chinese only at home, so when I was young, I could speak both languages.

I still understand most of the dialect my parents speak, but since I don't use it very much, I don't speak it very well anymore. I was just able to get by when we went back to visit China - I could ask for the bathroom, etc!

I'll let you know how it is. We don't really like 3D show we are doing the 2D show.

All the shows at our theater are sold out.

We generally don't like the 3-D either. I think it washes out a lot of the color.

But I heard the effects were pretty spectacular for this movie, so we decided give it a try!

I'd love to hear what you thought of it - but no spoilers, please!

Just one more day to go and our little girl finishes school and first grade, next year she will be in second grade and you know what, the thing she is excited most about is that she will learn english. She is absolutely certain that she will then be able to speak as good as her mami when we visit USA for the next time . So far we did not tell her that we even might live in the states for 2 years. Urs is still in discussion, we will see if that dream comes true. And the best is, that I heard that Disney Cruises will start with cruises from NYC. Wow, Disney on your door step...:cool1:. We will see after our vacation.

. Yes, we speak swiss german, a dialect form of german, looking forward to speak a bit of german with you.

I am getting nervous, I am :laundy:, ironing, getting everything together, going through my packing list, going through all documents and hoping that I do not forget essential things. The first time we made vacation in Florida I brought way to much clothes and this time we want to do extensive shopping, my husband is not a big shopper at home, but in Florida he does his entire shopping for one year, business suites, casual clothes, shoes, we nearly don't bring clothes for him. And I will do a bit of shopping too :rolleyes1 .

I hope to be able to log in from our various holiday spots, not sure about captiva if we have access in our room. Do you know if you can log in from the rooms at Beach Club Resort? But I try my very best to stay in touch with you all.

Swissgirl,

My parents just got back from Switzerland last night, they were over there for 2 weeks visting other countries as well and had a great time! However they didn't bring back any chocolate... unless my dad ate it on the way back!

Now everyone please hear this please don't go feeling sorry for Scooter:listen:.....just feel sorry for his poor wife and kids that have to put up with him, :rotfl2:and as to him having to work sooo very hard ask him how much time he has spent at Ocean City over the past 2 weeks??? I'm just sayin'....:rolleyes1

And I guess we are to feel bad for him that it was windy and he had to come off the beach.....as I sit here at me desk working hard so I can go on vacation...

I just wanted everyone to be aware of Scooter and don't fall into his poor me trap! i have seen too many innocent people fall into it -:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great evening and yes, you too Scooter even though you have such terrible conditions to deal with!

This made me laugh. The first few times we were on a Disney cruise and they leave the chocolate on the bed, I didn't want my DD eating it in bed. So when she asked what it was I told her it was pats of butter. One day she looked inside and saw that it was brown. I told her it had spoiled. Finally she caught on a few years later. She was not happy that she wasn't getting any chocolate for a few cruises.:lmao:

You can get online at any WDW resort. I don't know if it is wireless or not. In the villas you have to use an Ethernet cord which is provided for you. I think there is a fee too, but I'm not sure what it is since DVC members get free internet.

Hope to hear from you on your travels.

There you are Doug! I was beginning to get worried about you too. I just figured since you guys like to wear matching shirts that Scott was just talking for you too. :rotfl2: Just Kidding!;)

Ok coachycp (doug). It is on my friend. Sorry I did not respond last night I was watching the sunset on the BEACH:banana:

Doug I did call your IT guy yesterday and he is concerned that you are "working" to much on disboards:rotfl2: Be careful they are monitoring you now at work. Might want to watch yourself today oops forgot today is Friday and you are probably "working" from home:lmao:

Ah it is good to have friends you can bust on and doug and I certainly enjoy it.

The mid-night showing of Harry Potter was awesome! I got up there about 7pm and we got home around 3am.
