August 2, 2011 disney dream

Sorry for the delay in posting but I have been soooo tired from being Scooters chaffeaur/errand boy/personal assistant....

I never knew you could have so many excuses to not do something because of a foot!

The truth be told it is good to see Scooter up and about and that he will be good to go by WDW...Plus I told him no way was I pushing him around in late July humidity/crowds and heat at WDW!

I agree God Bless America and our troops!

I remember the boards after the 9/11 attacks as well as the Bird Flu and nobody was going to WDW. We have to be on higher alert which is natural but this has to be one of the biggest events since 9/11 that has hightened our feeling of what a great Country we live in.

I got goose bumps watching the Philadelphia fams chanting USA while playing the NY Mets. What a great show of unity.

Coachycp, I am sure your back is killing you from carrying me these past couple of weeks. :rotfl: Ok away from politics and more important stuff. We need to find people who have been on the dream so we can get some navigators. The only navigators I see are from the other ships. There is one but it is from the first cruise. Not sure we can get much info from that one. Ok watched the Dream cruise out of PC last night. Ahhh wish I was on it. Yes a disney nerd for sure. I can't wait to walk down mainstreet usa. I just need school to be over. The monster I mean kids are driving me insane. Seniors have 15 days and they are going to push the issue the next 15 days. Uggh. Can't wait for summer!

Ok have a great week!

Scott

I totally agree with both of you! The best way to support our troops is to enjoy the freedom they fight for. Yes, there is a chance that something will happen. Will it stop me from traveling? No way!

Scott - here is a link to a blog that has the navigators from the April 10th 4 day cruise. I think the first 5 day that goes out is at the end of May so maybe we will start seeing some 5 day navigators after that.

Questions, questions, questions.

As I said once before this is only our second cruise. DW and I went on DVC members cruise last sept and had a wonderful time. We went into WDW (wl) on Friday night hit epcot, had dinner then stayed late at epcot to get everything in. Sat. morning up early, and goal was to conquer the remaining 3 parks. We did it and it was fun. It was hot but with just the 2 of us it was like we were kids again. Had dinner at Capt. galley at yacht club then back to MK for fireworks. Up early sunday morning and yep went back to mk. Then on bus to DCL.

Ok enough of memory lane.

Here is my question: Since we are going in on the 27th and doing wdw should we pack for both trips or do laundry. I hate to spend a day doing laundry but with luggage prices probably going up wonder if it is worth a couple hours?

thoughts?

Ok some have participated and some have not in my somewhat bi-weekly questions. Here it is: What is the one absolute 1 thing you must do when you visit WDW?

ME: fantasmic
DS 14 Safari
DS 11 Rocking roller coaster
DW MK fireworks

Question 2: If you could work at WDW what job would you want?

I want to capt. the :boat: from Wilderness lodge to MK.

Scott,

You are not driving me crazy. I am use to more active threads so I could talk to you all day long, every day.

I personally choose to do laundry. With the DVC rooms we have a washer and dryer in the room so I will usually throw a load in the wash when we head out in the morning and then when we come back I will change it to the dryer. Then usually before bed or first thing in the morning I will fold them. For our longer trips I usually do this every other day so the loads are not too bad.

I'll play along:

Question #1 Must Do

Me: Wishes/Illuminaitons (I know that's 2 but I have to do both)

Alyssa 15: Everything (she said it was too hard to pick one thing)

Question #2 WDW Job

Me: Capt the Wishes or Illuminations boats
Brittany: Ariel
Alyssa: a character or working in a fun restaurant like 50's Prime Time

Old questions that I have not answered.

Favorite Ride:

Me: RnR
Brittany: Big Thunder Mtn
Alyssa: Space Mtn

Favorite Disney Show

Me: Illuminations
Alyssa: Wishes
Brittany: Wishes

Our waitlist came through today for BWV so we will be there on the 31st and 1st. With all the people staying at BCV or BWV I think we should definitely plan a meet. Maybe on the 1st for some drinks. We could meet at the Beach Club or the lounge that is at the Boardwalk. Who is up for a meet?

Oaky, on our Christmas cruise thread we posted pictures so everyone could put a name to a face and it was a lot of fun.

So I will get it started here if anyone wants to join in.

These are some pictures from our Christmas cruise

This is part of our group going on the Aug 2 cruise. From left to right: David (Brittany's boyfriend), Brittany(my DD 22), Lee (David's Dad), Angie (David's Mom), my Mom, my Dad, me, and Alyssa (my DD 15)

This was our last Disney cruise with my Mom (she passed away on April 2nd) and we really had a great time.

Here is another one with Brittany, me, and Alyssa

That's probably more pictures than you wanted to see but I have them, so I figured I might as well show them off.

For those of you needing to know (like me). I called DCL and asked which night Pirate night was planned to be during our cruise - they said the fourth nite when we leave Nassau. I'm hoping to get in to the site tonight to book a Palo ressie. Wish me luck!

JMTStone - I believe you are the one doing the FE list. We really enjoyed doing this on our last cruise and would love to do it again. Alyssa and I are in a suite and from what I understand you can only access those on the Dream if you have a room in the concierge area so I am trying to figure out how to include us in the FE. I might have to hang both of them outside of Brittany and David's cabin. Once I get it figured out I will PM you with the information. Have we set a cut-off date for the FE list?

I've decided to cut off 30 days prior to cruise. A lot of us are headed down to spend time in the world early (a BUNCH of BCV people ..... meet anyone?) so I want to let the crafters have enough time to craft. I'm also requesting people let me know if they do not enjoy a bit o' rum for the ADULTS. On my last cruise we exchanged airplane bottles for the people who liked to sample different rums and that was a bunch of fun so if you're not into it.... let me know. And for the kids I LOVE to shop for little boys as I have none. I let my girls pick out presents for the little girls.

On the last cruise, people also made gifts like personalized door magnets. We loved those and have them on our fridge.

Since we were having our vows renewed on that cruise, I even had my DIS friends invited to the ceremony to taste cake and watch us dance. They even helped me drink the champagne! - I'm definately up for a pre-meet or on boat meet! My husband and I decided this time we MUST have an adult evening at Pink.

So we made or excursion reservations today:

Jon and Taylor (DD18) are watercrafting at Castaway Cay
Mackenzie (DD9) and I are doing the Stingray Ray
Jon is parasailing on his own
We have Remy dinner reservations at 7 PM on day 5.

We did NOT make any reservations for Nassau. Jon can shop while DD18 and I do the spa. I could not book both of us to get or mani/pedi's together but they're within 1/2 hour of each other.

Can you tell I'm a bit excited. Yippie!!!!!!

We arrive on the 30th at BCV. And we're up for a meet.

Thanks for the information about Pirate night. I was wondering. We have Palo booked at 6:00 that night with our friends. Good Idea or not? We have late dinning time so kids will be on their own and then will eat at 8:15.

I wish dcl would put out dinning rotations and show navigators so us planners can not go crazy. lol

Ok have to get on to dcl site. ttyl

Scott

I got this from another thread but I checked it with DCL concierge and they said it is the information they have right now too. Of course, things can always change.

Our Cruise Itinerary and Dinning

Day 1 Port Canaveral Cruise Casual
Day 2 Castaway Cay Cruise Casual
Day 3 Sea Day Dress-up Night
Day 4 Nassau Pirate Night
Day 5 Castaway Cay Cruise Casual

According to DCL, the possible dinning rotations are:

1 - RP AP EG EG RP
2 - EG RP AP AP EG
3 - AP EG RP RP AP

Hope this helps.

Ok scooter and coachycp are up for meet before cruise. I have to check adr's as I think we are going to ohana the night before. Scooter is staying at bwv and coachycp at bcl. I have not stayed at bwv but know there is open space and lounge at bcl.

Events for scooter and coachycp families

cc day one jet ski
at sea palo 6:00
nassau blue lagoon dolphin adventure 9:30

every day rest, relax, have a great time!

Scott

We decided not to make any ADR's for the 1st so we are free to do whatever. I believe someone else posted that they will be at the Poly the night before the cruise and suggested a possible meet on the beach for the fireworks. Or we could have a later meet at the Belle Vue Lounge at the Boardwalk or a lounge at BC for anyone who might have dinner reservations. Like I said we are up for anything.

We decided not to do any excursions on this cruise. We mainly did this cruise to check out the new ship and hit Castaway Cay twice. We have been to Nassau a couple of times and could really do without it so we are going to stay on the ship. We might get off to have lunch at Hard Rock but that is all. We have a cabana booked at Castaway Cay for both days so that will be all we will do. Just want to relax and enjoy the ship. We do have brunch at Palo on the sea day at 10:30am and dinner at Remy on the sea day at 8:20pm. We didn't want to do both of these on the same day, but with the dinning rotations this was the day that worked the best.
