Dizzy up late or up early? I should have logged in as my ds11 had his buddy over and they woke me up. I am so tempted to test the smoke alarms this morning:rotfl2: but will let them sleep:littleangel:.

Went and saw transformers and IMO best of the three. It actually has a story line. I do miss Meagan fox though:rolleyes1. A. Lot of robot violence and language that is inferred. They stop a lot of suggestive sentences with change of scene or explosion. Wonder if there will be an unrated version.

Speaking of movies I hope pirates will still be on the ship as I skipped theatre planning to watch it on the ship!popcorn::

I sincerely hope so. We don't normally hit the theatres for movies. But I love me some Piratespirate:

My excuse for not sleeping.... stress. I want to do my fish extenders since there's no use trying to start sleeping now.... but Mackenzie is in my bedroom sleeping soundly.

I'm not looking forward to this either.

I'm a compulsive rule-follower, and I will be really upset if there are people with a later port arrival time being let onto the ship before us!!

Since DCL CMs for the most part have problems enforcing the rules (i.e saving pool chairs, kids jumping in the pools, seat saving, etc. you get the idea), I wonder how they are going to handle this? It is going to be crazy unless DCL informs all passengers, and it doesn't look like they are going to do this.

I know how you feel.

If we knew for sure that DCL would enforce the rules then I think it would take away some of the anxiety. But like you said Dizzy, we all know how that goes.

I am a rule follower too and usually don't like to push things. But I am truly considering arriving at the port at 10am just to see what happens. I can always bring my champagne and OJ and fix our mimosas while we wait for the port to open.:thumbsup2

According to the documents the parking garage will not open until 11am either but this doesn't make sense. If the terminal opens at 11am then the parking garage would need to open a little earlier so those who are parking can take care of luggage and then park their car. Otherwise you are penalizing those who are parking at the port. Every time I think about this I have more questions and it's giving me a headache.:headache:

Hopefully I will have a little more information next week. The concierge manager I spoke to said she has reached out to their partners at the terminal to try and find out more information on how this is going to work. I'll let everyone know what I find out.

On a happier note! Alyssa got home from Vegas last night.:woohoo: It's good to have her home. It was getting a little lonely in the house without her here. Now she is getting ready to go to the water park with her friends.:upsidedow Oh to be a teenager again.:goodvibes

Well I was awake half the night too! But no computer access. I was trying to sleep in a tent with a very thin (useless) air mattress in a camp full of 40 teenage girls. :sad2: I got 4 hours of sleep. But I did have a wool blanket to keep me warm (yes it is cold in the mountains near where I live). I'm just glad to have one more thing crossed off my to do list before the cruise! This week I think I finally have time to work on my FE and FE gifts!:banana::banana: I also get to make an outfit for a friend's DD for her trip to Disneyland. princess: If only I weren't so tired...

I am so looking forward to a very laid back relaxing vacation! I'm starting my packing list.

Couldn't sleep. Just like tonight. I like looking at the Port Canaveral website at night too. Very peaceful.

I love mimosas. That would be a good way to pass the time.

Maybe the idea is to have more people use the DCL busses? I hope this goes smoothly for everyone, but I have my doubts.

I agree that you deserve a medal. I couldn't do it.

I do have my packing list ready. I created a list a few years ago. I don't like reinventing the wheel each time we go somewhere. Each family member gets a page for themselves to pack. And my list includes things to do before leaving home like calling the credit card companies to tell them I will be using my card more than normal and not at home, to cancel my newspaper, to make sure the garage door is down (I always worry that I will leave it up, but I never have.), and a few other things.

I love mimosas too! We usually drink them in the limo on the way to the port but since I am driving this time I don't have that option.

I have a packing list that I created a couple of years ago too. I pretty much know what to pack but it helps to have a list to go over to make sure I don't miss anything.

you know what, you all deserve a medal :cheer2:, reading your posts is so great, I learn a lot about your daily life, sports, kidds activities and so much is a whole lot different then here in Europe, but on the other hand, you have the same worries (when to be at the port, what to pack) and I realize that I am not the only "over-organizer" on this planet

I am so much looking forward to see you all very soon, we will be at the "pre-meet" at BWV and for sure at 3pm on the ship. And I guess we will be at the port arround 10:30, we have a port arrival time for 11am. Have you read aswell that it might be a possibilty to park on deck 3 and enter from there directly?

We just came back from a great opera weekend. About 3 hours from were we live, we have a wonderful old roman arena (similar to the very famous one in Verona, Italy), they played Rigoletto from Verdi, it was just wonderful, we had picknick with us, enjoyed the great ancient surrounding and the music, and at midnight, just 2 minutes before the official end, a thunderstorm came up and they had to terminate a bit earlier, because the entire Orchestra made a run to prevent their instruments from the havy rain.

Next Sunday I will be packing, we leave Switzerland on Monday. First we enjoy a few days powershopping in Ford Lauderdale, due to the very low exchange rate we plan to shop a lot. Then we will enjoy a few relaxing beach and pool days at the South Seas Resort in Captiva before we enter the world and we see you all.

Take care, have a great start of the week.

Thanks but I really don't. The girls were actually amazing! Just loud :lmao: They seriously were so good and kind to each other, no drama! :confused3 They had me in tears with how they treated each other. :littleangel:

It's always great to hear what our "friends" on the other side of the pond are doing. The opera sounds amazing! Boy your trip is coming up fast isn't it. How exciting.:yay: There have been some postings about people parking on deck 3 of the garage and there is an entrance to the terminal there. I don't know if this will change with the new opening time but right now that is what we are planning on doing.

It's only 18 days until we leave but we still have a lot going on between now and then.

1. Mid-night showing of Harry Potter on Thursday!:woohoo: Alyssa and her friends are planning on camping out at the theater for most of the day. I told them I would take them food but I wasn't going to show up til later in the day.:goodvibes

2. Alyssa goes to Sea World Camp on Monday the 18th. We will have to drive up to Minneapolis on the 17th and spend the night since she has an early morning flight out on the 18th. Then I will have to drive back up on the 23rd to pick her up.

3. Lastly, we have a wedding to attend in Tennessee on our drive down to WDW. I will definitely be ready for our cruise.

...and I thought I have a busy schedule:eek:, but all sounds very exciting. Harry Potter isn't out yet in Europe, and my little girl is still on other literature, but I am sure one day she will read those books.

You sure have some busy days ahead. I envy you and your kidds for all those great camps, we do not have that here and this is a shame. But we only have 5 weeks school vacation in summer, so, not enough time anyway. On the other hand we have great winter and snow activites for the kidds. Alena enjoys her 4 weeks of ski school in winter, we have a chalet in the mountains not to far from where we leave, so besides from the holidays on Christmas and February, we enjoy the weekends there without to long a journey. So this might be the trade for "no kidds camps".

 and :woohoo:

I wish my DS could have worked in going to Seaworld Camp. It looks like lots of fun.

Having your own chalet sounds enchanting.

swissgirl - appreciate the spend in the U.S. Especially after I spent so much in Reinach last year! Did you ever get the cabana?

We are all super busy! I'm taking my Mom for medical procedure tomorrow 5 AM (Its summer - Doctors have to get to the golf outings in the afternoon). Then I'm supporting St. Herblain France phone system implementation. What's nice about that is they close 5 PM Europe time and that's only noon here.

I got the Fish Extender gifts done today. I really hope everyone likes their gifts. Mackenzie and I had fun doing them.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I can't believe we leave for vacation in 17 days. :woohoo:

I bought Mackenzie a little Pirate Girl costume.pirate:

It is a lot of fun. Alyssa went last year and had a blast. She is so excited that it is finally here and now that she is in the high school group she is hoping to do a little more behind the scenes this year. She will be happy no matter what since she will be at Sea World.
