August 18, 2010...Can't wait for the MAGICal Mediterranean!!!

Happy Easter!

For our trip, I am debating about getting a new camera. I would like to get a small camera with some zoom that would fit in my pacsafe.

Any recommendations??

Thanks!

I have a Canon Powershot Elph....I love it...my model is a few years old already but it still takes great pictures.

I have a Canon Powershot SD1100IS Digital ELPH point and shoot that takes great pics! I'll be bringing that as well as lugging around a DSLR (also a Canon).

Hi all!

Happy Holidays! (sorry a little late)

We just got back from a week at Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Washington DC. We had a great time. We did a lot of walking!!!! I kept saying to DH and DD that this is great practice for Europe. Both in terms of walking and also in terms of going on tours based in history.

Can't believe pif is right around the corner. With the weather so nice here in nj it makes it seem like the cruise is around the corner.

Ok Gang - I"m trying to finalize my itinerary because on 4/20 I get to book everything. Based on the dinner schedule that Kim provided and the busyness (sp?) of our days, I'm thinking Malta or Tunis night for our Palo dinner. They just seem to be more relaxed ports of call and ones where we won't feel like we have to rush back for dinner. Let me know your choice.

Right now I have Lori, Kim, Cliffside (why don't I know your first name??) and us. Any other takers? I think, from something I read on the board, we can get a private room if we have a certain amount of people. I don't know what that amount is. I may need to get your confirmation cruise number to book the dinner for you, but I'll have DH call ahead and find out, so all our bookings can be done.

Happy Easter, Happy Passover and Happy whatever other holiday may fall today. 4 1/2 month...YIPPEEEEE!!!!!!!:dance3:

It is Susan. Sorry I thought you knew that. Hope all is well. Were you able to finalize the rest of your excursions? Palo seems good for Malta or Tunisia. Those days should not be as hectic and we should be able to enjoy the dinner without being exhausted from the days touring. Did you finalize your hotel for pre and post yet?

We are looking forward to this cruise. This will be our 5th cruise. Can't believe the date is fast approaching. It seems just like yesterday that we booked (November 2008).

Welcome- glad to have new members to our group. We also booked in Novemeber 2008. Can't believe that we are getting so close.

Just found this discussion board and it is perfect for us. We are enjoying planning our excursions and would welcome input from others who are also doing so. We have booked a private tour for Naples and also for Rome, and would be interested in reducing costs by finding another family to join us. We are two adults, and also a son (10) and a daughter (13). This will be our first cruise on Disney and our second overall.

Hi and Welcome. You will love cruising with disney. :cool1:

Well everyone we're back from WDW!!!! Staying at BLT was the BEST!!!!! My feet will never be the same, though I look at it as good practice for Rome. Glad to see the newbies who have joined our group.

To those interested, we have 10 confirmed for Pisa/Florence and do have room for 6 more. We plan on climbing the tower (you must be 8 to do so) and then heading to Florence. If you are interested in joining us, please PM me of post to this thread your email and I'll forward the information.

Hi Lori

Glad you had a great time at DW. I am thinking of staying at BLT after we sail on the Dream in 8/11.

We went on that exact trip the end of August last year and can I tell you it was one of the best vacations ever. Both my kids loved it and want to go back. We had unbelieve weather...not too hot and not cold. We are going to do a full vacation at DC next, but will definitely go back to Williamsburg.

I'm just an idiot. I think I knew your name, just didn't remember. We finalize excursions on 4/20 and that's when I'm going to get the concierge to book the group at Palo. We did get pre and post hotel booked. We're staying at the Apsis Porta Marina. It's a few blocks from the Sagrada Familia and it's a relatively new hotel. I was able to get a room for 4 for the night before we leave and the night when we come back for $181 per night on 1-800hotels.com. I thought it was a good deal. It got decent reviews and we all get to stay together in one room. It's not all that far from the port either.

Hi Lori

Glad you had a great time at DW. I am thinking of staying at BLT after we sail on the Dream in 8/11.

You'll LOVE BLT, it's a great addition to the DVC family. I just wish we'd have enough points to get a 1br after our Dream in April 2011, but we won't as we used some of our points to book the dream and only have enough left to stay at AKV in Kidiani. We went by Kidani and it looks like a nice peaceful place for a 3 night stay. We probably won't be doing any Disney parks after the Dream, just going to Discovery Cove and Sea World.

Yeah we had a great time. The only thing I regret is not giving us enough time to spend there. It was a whirlwind trip. We had one day in Colonial Williamsburg, 1 day in Busch Gardens and 1 day in DC and we did all the monuments, toured the capital and visited 2 museums in the Smithsonian.

I definately want to go back and enjoy it a more leisurely pace.:)

Yes it was really a great time. I would definately recommend going there on vacation.:)

It's on our "to-do" list, but want to wait until DD gets more in the way of history in school. She's in 1st grade now and only highlight like President's day and that associated with it gets covered. I went for the first time after 3rd grade and still have vivid memories!

Kim,

We went just before the kids entered 3rd grade this year. Haylee moaned and groaned about going because my son is into history and she is not. Well I have to tell you she had the best time in Williamsburg,....absolutely loved it. I was so surprised. My kids favorite part was the blacksmith...they stood and watched him for almost an hour.
