It's so nice to have a weekend of beautiful weather here in nj. What a difference a week makes.

Mindy- Congrats on being PIF.

Finally started looking at excursions. We are thinking of doing the beach break in Corsica and pompeii and the Amalfi Coast in Naples. Getting there.

Decided to switch to late dining due to looking at the port departure times.

thanks for the links to the pre-cruise reports. i subscribed to them and will print out to read on the subway.

can't remember if i told you this but we had a great time on our trip to washington and oregon. loved seattle and mt. rainier. crater lake was beautiful. we'll have to come back to visit cascades and olympic national parks.

i'm not doing too good on the plannng for this trip. we are vacationing during spring break (coming up in a few days) and have been focused on that. once we get back I can shift my attention to this cruise. at least i have airfare booked and post cruise barcelona hotel booked. i have to work on excursions and palo(want to do brunch on a sea day). i have to pay in full by april 19th. How is your planning going?

just wondering if anyone has looked into foreign currency yet and knows what they are going to do. we'll credit card as much as possible and euros are good in spain, france and italy. don't know if we need to worry about the other countries.

Be aware your CC may charge you a foreign currency exchange fee (up to 3% or so) if you use it off the ship.

We're planning to buy some Euros and some Euro travelers checks.

You two are funny!!!!!!

I think we'll be getting some travelers checks for the private tours we have, and a prepaid debit card with Euro, that we can refill as needed. It will avoid the dreaded 3% fee and will be easier I think.... I will look further into this when we get home next week!!!!!!

I was worried about jet lag, and now I think I'll just enjoy being able to relax a bit after a port tour before dinner!

Glad you enjoyed the Pacific NW! Summer is so beautiful here!

My planning is stymied by the fact that I have to wait until 75 days out! Otherwise I'd be in-depth studying about each excursion! I did however, buy a new pair of sandals!

So we got an email this morning from our TA asking us if we wanted to move our room to a cat 3 towards the front of the ship. We declined, since from everything we read from past cruisers, our location is better. My point is that apparently, not everyone paid their final balance for their Cat 3's last week and rooms have opened up. Maybe a few of us can get together and upgrade ourselves to the Walt suite, if someone let it go....Just a crazy thought.....

Also, what's the deal? There are about 6 of us on this cruise board that are active, what happened to everyone else? All the other boards seem to be hopping, is noone on our ship? At this point we could do an FE, there's only a few of us....I just find it strange. My last cruise there were so many people on the board.

So, yesterday I called my bank/ credit union asking about overseas useage. Using my CC from them, I only would pay a 2% fee for withdrawals. Nothing else. No cash advance higher rate! I'm sure any ATM I use will tack on a few bucks, but in light of that, I don't think I'd needone of those debit prepaid cards. If any of you have a card thru a credit union, you might want to give them a call!

This morning while doing my usual search, for cat 4 to go out of GTY. I was able to see a cat 12 for 4 people on the Aug 28th sailing for under 4k!!!!!! Looks like our sailing is kind of popular, as I've NEVER seen cat 12 for our sailing..... For 8k, if they did offer it, I'd give up my cat 4 and my 400 OBC from DCL...... I don't need a balcony that much.....
