August 18, 2010...Can't wait for the MAGICal Mediterranean!!!

I've read on other threads that the European excursions are rumored not to be put out until early next year. I think it was posted by one of the moderators.

Have you booked on this cruise??

Kim

No, but I would really love to. I was looking at the old med excursions and was wondering what would be offered this time around.

Hello everyone

Just checking in, Hope everyone is enjoying their summer :)

400 and counting! The one-year mark is around the corner!

I know.....I'm starting to get mildly excited...don't want to overdo it too soon. Once we figure out our airline situation, we'll decided how far in advance we are going. I think I want to see a little of Barcelona before the cruise leaves. I left from there on my honeymoon cruise and I never got to see the city. I will be the only one that's been there twice and never really "been" there...LOL

i've got a bad feeling that airfare is going to be very expensive. i've been checking june airfare and frequent flyer availability.

We have already booked the airfare through disney as a fallback. My husband has some options. He wants to fly business class, so that the long flight is easier or the kids. If airfare is expensive. We're thinking of paying the fee to get the amex platinum card and then they give you the airplane tickets, buy one, get one free....we'll see what comes up as less expensive. What prices have you seen thus far?

any US airline is atleast $1000 per person leaving out of the NYC area. only airlines under that are Swiss and Iberia. what did you lock into with disney?

Which I know is very high....but it was something just in case...the Disney one might be cheaper by now. I don't know if you're going to get all that much cheaper out of the nYC area than a little under $1000 pp. I found a 1 stop for $700 but I don't know how my kids will do with that...I'm going to have my TA do some legwork for me....

With the realization of airfare costs? Guys - we're approaching the one year mark and this board is virtually dead....what's going on ?

Just as an FYI - I spoke with a friend, who is a travel agent, and she let me know if you've been comparing airfare for June and July to get a feel of what it will cost in August, you may be in for a big pleasant surprise. She said traditionally the cost to fly to Europe is much higher in June and July because the demand is higher. In mid August, many kids in the US are either back in school or leaving for college. She said that may apply for Europe too.

Lets home she's right.

Still super excited. :cool1: Can't wait to book flights, pre hotels and start figuring out excursions. Hope everyone is enjoying summer. :goodvibes

Is there anybody else who is from Europe going on this cruise? :yay:

Jackie from Ireland was going but she had to cancel. We only have about 9 families on our list, so there are a lot more that we don't know about. If you give me your info, (people going and ages) I can add you to our list on page 3.

saw your post on the barcelona hotels thread and booked Le Meridien myself. rates well on tripadvisor and cost is decent. don't know what our flight itinerary will be like so i just booked the two nights before the cruise and two nights after the cruise. i can always cancel or modify. i'll probably still check out other hotels too.
