I just thought that I'd pop by to say hello. My family and I will be on the same cruise. I'll be travelling with DH, DD, my parents, my sister's family and family friends. All together, we'll be a group of 15.
It's my 2nd Disney cruise (4 night Wonder in 2008) but we have all cruised with different cruise lines in the past.
Unfortunately, this is correct. The rule is that the salon is for only 18 and over. There is no flexibility here. DCL is VERY strict with their adult only areas.
Just paid off my balance!!!!!![]()

She's 6!
My DH and I figured that at almost 7 she'd be old enough to at least understand and maybe even slightly appreciate the european sites. How wrong we were, I've been showing her books of some of the places we'll see (most notably Rome). She's really interested but she doesn't want to see any old broken buildings. She doesn't understand why they won't just repair the Coliseum and the other ruins!
So, we're rethinking our shore excursions!![]()

I thought I saw a thread around and about that occasionally there were on-board "specials" that would be a mom-and-me sort of thing aimed at the teen/under 18 set?
I believe that's only for nails. On our Aug cruise last year, one family we met wanted to get their daughters hair done for formal night and were denied access to the salon for their girls, they were 13 and 10. The mom commented that the salon was empty, but was turning away passengers more than willing to pay, due to them being kids. The girls did get their nails done though.
That is why the spa is in the adults only area....they're pretty strict about that...they should probably add a children's spa type place....maybe there will be one on the Dream?

My DD turns 7 at the end of next month, so they'll be close in age! I started talking about the volcano that destroyed a city and got a great reaction, so I went from there! She's almost morbidly interested....We also got her to watch Rick Steves episodes to give her an idea of what to expect. Now she points out naked statues to us when we see pics of them. Hmmmm....maybe don't take a page from my playbook!
Anywho, we're taking her to Rome, but that's the only long structured day. I might try to do some sort of game to make it interesting. I'm going to make up a scrapbook, and I might put in pics of sights we're going to see, and do a "scavenger hunt" of sorts....with as of yet undecided "prize".

Do you have any of Rick Steves' books? I am thinking of downloading a few on my Kindle to carry with on the trip.
Thanks.

Now that I've paid off my cruise, the OBSESSION starts with looking for my room number. We're booked in a cat 4 GTY, and I just KNOW our room will be right next to the captains... 8000 anyone?????? I actually wouldn't mind that, because then we'd definitely have a clear veranda. There are 6 cat 4's with solid white ones. We had it once and weren't fans..... The good news is that if I get a solid white one, I'll be REALLY close to Mindy.... I might try to "balcony hop" into her cabin!!!!
