Maybe I should leave the raincoats at home and just pack an umbrella???

We are just packing a small umbrella and no raincoats....WOW, you can get raincoats too in that small amount of luggage you are taking ??? - now that is impressive :worship:

Surprised at how cool Corsica is, I warned my guys about topless sunbathers but topless and cool weather together.....oh MY:scared1:

I am re evaluating the luggage choices now! We can bring one suitcase, and 4 carry ons, anything extra will cost us. Def leaving the raincoats home now!

We are a military family! Mindy I see you are from Jersey, I was born and raised on Long Island.

Shawn- we are you from originally?

I heard there are alot of military families stationed in Europe on our cruise...don't know if that's true or not...anyone else hear that?

Kelly, we are ex-pat but have met many wonderful military families down here in Stuttgart as well as alot of military contractors. There are not too many
people getting overseas ex-pat contracts these days with the economy like it is. I guess we are lucky (saying that sarcastically as I'd rather be in US!)

We were in the Med in June and even if it is rainy, it is still warm. I wore Capris all the time with Tees, although did have a cardigan once or twice. Take a lightweight jacket/waterproof (we have the ones that squish down really small), and you will be fine. I take one cotton, smart sweatshirt, that I have used once. Otherwise, If it is really cold (I think not), I can always buy something a bit cheap!

Strangely enough it is colder on the ship than outside, because of the air con!

We have alot of people from that area on our meet thread-NY, NJ, Conn, etc. We have a couple of other mil families
from Germany here too. Check out Pixie08's website-

I am from the South..... NC to be exact. Just spent 6 weeks visiting this Summer and just got back to Stuttgart August 11th.

Look forward to meeting you!

Shawn

My parents retired in NC :) I met my DH there when I was going to school, we lived in Sanford for a bit, now my parents are in a small town close to Winston-Salem. We'll visit them and spend a few weeks at Topsail next summer.
We love the Wilmington area and will prob settle there in a few years.

I will print a selection of magnets, but I warn you the paper is a bit dull and grainy, thats what you get for going to the £1 shop.

Just finished my case, weighs well under 20kgs, so may go and put some more stuff in! :rotfl2:

OH still has to do his. Still not decided if laptop is coming or not!, the wifi was rubbish on the ship last time, so can't really see the point, except to download photos to.

Off to the shops now for some last minute bits. I have lost OH, I thought he was in the garden, but he has disappeared along with dd - whats the betting he has snuck into work!!!!

Shawn, wait till your boys get to Nice!!! That beach is amazing, but there are a lot of people topless who shouldn't be!!!:rolleyes1

Aren't you allowed 1 suitcase per person???

I looked through the old posts a bit last night and it seems that way.
Disney did give us a good rate :)

I called last week to upgrade our room and this cruise is completely booked! Hoping for an upgrade when we board......I can dream:lovestruc

Happy packing to everyone, off to finish mine!:laundy:

We're flying a discount airline and they charge for everything. We figured with summer wear we could get by with one checked and the carry ons, we've done 4 day trips with just backpacks, so it's possible.
If it comes down to it, I'll just pay for another checked bag, I really hate stressing about weight limits.:headache: Vacations are supposed to be stress free right!

Just dropping in to wish everyone a great cruise :thumbsup2

we were meant to cruise with you but had to cancal :sad1:

OMG, cool! My husband is from Mocksville, also a small town near W-S.

Topsail and Wilmington are both great!

We moved here from Raleigh so not too far from Sanford.

Ok, packing finished :yay::yay::yay: Though I stupidly left printing the magnets until today and the printer won't take the paper for some crazy reason :confused: so it looks like we'll be magnetless.

Safe travels everyone who's setting off today :banana:

Dumb question but are you putting the paper in one at a time since the paper does stick together?

Jennifer

On the airline we are on (German Wings) you aren't allowed any free baggage.
We paid to each have one checked bag and then we will each have a carry-on. Checked bag can't weigh more than 20 kilos and carry on can't weigh more than 8 kilos:scared1: This is a discount airline though...

My guys are giving me such grief - I put on a cute straw hat - "that looks terrible" - I put on a cute floral dress - "you're not wearing that are you!?!"

I am getting a complex:eek:

I just got done weighing all my bags and they are all right on. That is fine for now but will really stink comming home.

Which base are you at in the KMC? My husband is at Ramstein.
