There was a FE group started on our cruise Facebook page but the person that started the group had to cancel her cruise plans so we are looking for someone else with FE experience to start up a new group!!!

Hi everyone! I just booked this cruise for our family today. This will be our 1st cruise ever and I'm super excited! I've been trying to read up on the FAQ threads to see if I can learn anything about what to expect, terminology, etc., but I still have much to learn!

If no wants to take on coordination, I will offer. I saw the note their was one but then the person had to cancel. If I do, I will post the info here and on the Facebook for those not having a facebook account. I'll give it a few more days to see if there is anyone who would like to do it and if not will get it together. We had so much fun doing it last cruise I would hate to miss out on this one.

Hi all. I'm happy to see we have a FE volunteer. I had hoped to participate this time, but that is looking unlikely. I've joined a couple of FB groups that post pictures of what they give for gifts, and I have come to the conclusion that I am not crafty enough OR wealthy enough to afford to give such incredible gifts. I'd feel guilty accepting gifts that were so far above what I am able to do.

I know we have a long time to think about it, but have any of you decided on your excursions yet? I'm trying to decide if I should spend the money on Atlantis or stay on the ship on Nassau day.

Hi.
Don't be intimidated by the Fish Extender. Some people give very lovely gifts in keeping with their crafty skills or their budget. They are lovely to receive. But just as lovely are all the other gifts (mine included) which are not vey expensive, nor particularly reflective of any craft skills, are the best - the ones that are made by the youngest of travelers. The idea is just to add a bit of magic. I hope you will reconsider the FE because it is such fun to prepare for as a family and to distribute on ship.
Some of the best gifts I have received have been:
a penny for luck from British travelers,
a bag tag made of brightly coloured duct tape that I use to identify my bags to this day,
postcards from travelers' hometowns
A ziploc bag, covered in duct tape to look like Mickey pants,
Two Mickey Mouse decals for my toenails.
And many more.

As for Nassau, on our very first cruise we did do a bus tour of the town to see the highlights. Our plan is just to walk around the market and shops, or stay aboard.

Oops! We did do Atlantis. Was very expensive as we had booked an excursion with lots of options. If we were to do this again, I'd go with the water park only. Otherwise it makes for a rushed and crowded day. The lazy river was lovely.

When I logged into the disboards today, I was so excited to see a link for Disney Cruise Line/ Vera Bradley. I have to say, though, I found the pictures pretty disappointing. On the upside, I won't have to choose between Chamilia and Vera....I'm still on track to buy the rest of the DCL charms on this next trip.

Has anyone else booked a WDW resort for the few days before the cruise? I tried to convince DH to book the 3 day Dream right before this cruise, but he balked at it. So, unbeknownst to him, I called last night at booked 3 nights at the BWI. I want to wake up ON my birthday somewhere Disney! We'll be there the 13-16, then drive to the port and stay a hotel nearby the night before the cruise.

We're renting a car for the whole trip. I'm leaving it at the port parking garage instead of doing two separate rentals. The lines to pick up a car after we got off the ship in February were beyond ridiculous. I know I'm paying for a car I'm not driving, but it's worth it to save the frustration after 4 magical days at sea.

We are doing the back to back also. My son is 15 too. We are at Disney now but when we get home Ill be re-engaging for the FE!

Not everyone is super creative(I'm not very crafty) or has the equipment to do some of the crafts. Any FE item is a nice treat whether it is a pack of gum and tissues for the flight home or a personalized T-shirt.
