Oh I've always wanted to go to Austria! I have yet to get to Europe but one day I will. If you want any tips on California let me know. We were on the coast yesterday picking our daughters up from camp and I helped some tourist get the worlds best garlic artichoke bread. I hope they liked it

Looks like we DEFINITELY have to get together for a chat (and maybe a drink ) . We have travelled California before, but hints from the locals are always welcome.

Oh, and just a little hint, since you are in the FE group, there might be a little peek at Austria included in your goodies.

Thanks for the info. This will be our 6th DCL (which is why I say I should know these things). I remember having our picture taken every time, though. I would think they'd need to. I wouldn't get ON the ship without him. lol

You think I'd know the answer to these, but...

1. Do the cabins have illuminated clocks? I seem to remember the Dream having them, but not sure.

2. What is the procedure for checking in separately? We've always stuck together as a family. This year, DH will drop us with luggage, return rental car, then come back to meet us. I know how to get rid of the luggage, etc. He'll need his passport. Otherwise, can we check in without him? Doesn't he need to be there for the photo/other paperwork stuff, or can he do that when he arrives?

3. Is there a way to get the list of who's doing each mixology? I'm just curious whom I'm getting sloshed with. (OK... I wouldn't know the answer to that one. I just threw it in)..

Hello prior cruise buddy:

I'm not going on this one, but my husband is. I was actually on to check out his FE list because he has no clue! I'm the one that does everything.

Clock is very bright in the room-it's like the one on the Dream-we used the little card next to it to cover.

DH has dropped us off before. I was able to check him in (have cruise contract signed by him ahead of time, and he gave me his passport) Make sure he still has another photo ID with him to get into the terminal after he drops off car. I got his KTTW card and we were set. they already had his photo on file. If his photo is not on file, may be a different story since his photo would have to be taken.

I know I had another question, but can't remember right now

We have never been on a cruise before (and I am VERY new to "threads"). The girls decided on a Disney Cruise. We will be on the Aug. 17, 2013 sail. Looking forward to it but worried that we won't know what we're doing! Want to do some shore things but don't want to miss ship's movement. Are there plenty of things to keep everyone entertained? Anyway, here's our info:

We are from Fairfax, Virginia (just outside of Washington DC). This wll be our 9th cruise.

We have never checked in separately but we have also not had our photos redone. They do use previous ones if they have them on file.

I don't remember an annoying clock in the room but I am so tired by the time we get to bed that I wouldn't notice.

I will try to post the mixology groups later today. They will have people's first and last names.

1) Do you have to take your passports with you when you leave the ship in port?
2) If so, are there lockers or lockable storage places if your excursion is a swim where you don't want money/passports/cameras to get ruined - can they be stored somewhere?
