August 17, 2012 Magic in NYC!

One step closer to the cruise. We went and got my 16yo ds his picture ID today.

The cruise is getting closer and closer, can't wait and I hope to meet all of you. Anyone planning on going to the adult nightclub at night?:cool1:

Hello, all!

Now that I've taken care of the fish extender frenzied-sign-up, I wanted to make a proper introduction!

For our anniversary, my husband and I are going on our first Disney cruise! We are huge Disney fans, though, and have have been to both Disney World and Disneyland several times:

Me:
3/95 - Off property
3/97 - Dixie Landings

As a couple:
8/2000 - Polynesian
4/01 - Disneyland (day trip)
5/01 - Contemporary
8/2004 - Wilderness Lodge
8/2010 - Wilderness Lodge

I was even in Paris when Euro Disney opened in the 90s, but I wasn't able to go (But of course watched the opening on French tv, lol)

Looking forward to both adult activities on board as well as activities for "big kids," which is what we are, really. That's why we love Disney so much - it brings out the kid in you! :goodvibes

Nice to "meet" everyone!

Welcome!! We are also cruising for our anniversary. Hopefully you will come to the meet as well.

Hi,
My family is cruising the Magic August 17, 2012 from NYC. We want to join a fish extender group. Can anyone give me some advice as to how to join? Please? Please? Please?

Hi disney debi!
I am new to disboards and cannot wait until our DCL vacation. We have cruised on Disney 3 night cruises before and loved them. My husband and I enjoy our quiet time as well as the family time. We have 2 teenage daughters. We are hoping they will make friends and have a ball so we can too. Ha!

Hi again,
I am so excited! I just keep posting hoping someone will post me back! Is the Atlantis Aquaventure worth the price of the excursion. It will really cost a lot for my family of 4. I was told that I could book a room at the Comfort Inn Suites in Paradise Island cheaper and have use of all Atlantis ammenities. Has anyone ever done this before? I am nervous, but don't want to break the bank. Help. Please.
Tracey:)

Hi my family and I did the Atlantis Aquaventure thru Disney two years ago DH DD19 and DD16 (ages today) and we enjoyed it very much. We are glad we did it but wont be doing it again for awhile. Because of the expense. I think it's worth doing once so you can cross it off the bucketlist. lol :)

This time we are going to go to the Pirate Museum since we are traveling with my brothers family and his kids are DD9 DS6 DS6. I don't think they are tall enough or brave enough for some of the slides.

Hi Tracy, We too will be going Atlantis for the day. I have heard about the comfort inn room thing too but worry about the time to get a cab check in and get back to Atlantis. This will be our 6th time on the Magic my son 15 is more excited this time than when he was younger. I believe the meet up for the group is 3pm in the promenade lounge. Keever is the keeper of the fish extenders.
Hope

We did this last summer. There were 4 of us (2 families of 2). I don't remember the exact dollar amounts, but I know that each family paid exactly 1/2 of what it would cost if we did it through Disney. In other words, it cost us what it would if we only paid for 2 people through Disney. We even took the DCL bus back to the ship, we happened to walk out front when the Disney bus was boarding & since we had our DCL lanyards on, we blended right in. I even used AAA discount to book the Comfort Inn (which I don't have). We took a water taxi over (like $2 each), then a short walk to Comfort Inn & then checked in & out at the same time (this is key to save time!) We received our wristbands there & then a short walk to Atlantis. The desk person at the Comfort Inn told me that over 50% of their bookings are people who never even step into the room! They have quite the racquet going on there!!! We did book months in advance though, so I would look into it asap.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the advice. Our daughter is 15 and she is excited to try Atlantis Aquaventure. I hope we can meet to say hello on the ship.
