August 17, 2012 Magic in NYC!

I shouldn't have looked at the Disney Cruise Line. The 5 night cruises are pretty cheap. I am tempted to book one. I want to be one of the crazy people who do a 2 night 8 night and 5 night. I know my dad can't take time off, but if I can talk parents into letting me go alone I'd totally book since I do got enough to do one, and it would be a prefect time to test out traveling alone lol

Just came home from my cruise last night. The kids and I miss it already. They had a great time and so did all the adults on the cruise. It was great taking the ship from the New York port. I saw many decorated doors and knew that many of them belong to the Dis members of this board.

It was great seeing my son running through the halls every night to see what towel animal was left behind. We saved them all arounf the room all week, my DD also learned to make a monkey and displayed it for Roberto to see. Many great memories made and so sad that we are home.

My family also booked another cruise for 2014 hoping that one of the other Disney ships will sail out of New York.

We took our first Disney cruise on the Magic on the 17th. We had a great time as did our 7 year old daughter I wish that I had found this forum before we sailed so that we could have participated in the "fishies" thing. Oh well . . . Maybe next time.

We're looking into another Disney cruise but are disappointed that there are no sailings scheduled out of NYC for next summer.

The cruise was AWESOME! The Fish Extender gifts were SUPER. Thank you to all my "Fishy" friends who made our trip so memorable. Our daughters loved coming to the room to find our goodies. The gifts are all so amazing and so creative. Thank you all for your hard work and for making this an experience to remember.

Loved all the FE gifts! I made a slideshow of all of the pictures I took and used music from the CD's in the FE that we got. Everything was great, and my husbands favorite gift was the rum!

So I still want to cruise on one of the last 5 night Canada cruises because they are pretty good prices. I know I won't since parents wouldn't let me even with my own money , but hey I can't think of a present for my dad for his birthday maybe he'd want a 5 night cruise. you know gotta have wishful thinking

We got home late Saturday night.
The first thing the boys did was to cut a slot in the bank and put their remaining American money inside. They are saving for the next cruise. really, it was the best trip. EVER. Actually, we never saw them; they were in the Vibe. The Facebook photos show that they were really enjoying the group and activities.

Thanks for all the wonderful fish extender gifts. As I unpack, I am reliving the moments of surprise with each gift. I have put the notepads near our phones, hung the stained glass, adorned the fridge with magnets, selected photos for the frames, put aside pirate momentous for the next pirate party, put house keys on new keychains, put "emergency kit" items away for use later, etc. The cookies and pez and rum never made it home! Thanks for everything. What a wonderful experience in which to share.
It was nice to meet some of you at the meet. Sorry about locking the name tags in my luggage - they were delivered shortly after the meet. I put some in each of your fish extenders just in case you want to use them for your scrapbook!

We booked again for August 17 2013, but will most likely defer until 2014. Maybe we will see you on board sometime. If not, perhaps we will connect on the DISboards again somehow. If you are on Words with Friends, I am Ana Keeva; always looking for someone to play.

Thanks everyone for the fun treats and surprises!! We had fun delivering our Captain Mickey totes with goodies...we missed the meet (I had time screwed up) so I had hoped to spot the bags on deck at some point to meet some of you!! Hope everyone had a great cruise!! We loved it!!

We had the most wonderful time on our first disney cruise and enjoyed meeting you all. The fishie was so much fun. Thank you everyone for the great surprises. We booked a cruise to alaska, but will be pushing it back to 2014 as we are taking our brood to WDW next summer.

Totally agree-- Last summer on the Dream we did back-to back cruises (5 night & 4 night) and the 5 night was a "double dip"... so we had 3 Castaway Cay days in our 9 day journey!!!

I wish the ship would just dock at Castaway for a week & guests could come & go as they please-- inside for meals, nightime entertainment and bed... and CC as much as you'd like during the day! I would book THAT cruise in a minute!

While we were waiting our turn on the rebooking desk I showed DW Amy the 5 day double dip and her eyes got nice and wide. Hopefully when the 2014 dates come out there will be the 5-day, double dip cruises!
