August 16, 2011, Disney Dream - Part 4

I bet the Grand Villa will be lovely!!

For Phillip's birthday last year, we got a grand villa at AKL Jambo House. We loved it because it was a one story. So, this time we wanted to try OKW since I hear its the biggest. I think everyone will enjoy it.

After his party at the Lego Store, we'll be coming back to the villa for food, cake, and the piñata. So, the extra space will be helpful.

Hi Guys,

Hope you are all well.

I can't believe how excited I'm getting - my friends yesterday were laughing at me ! Its now at this time next week I'll be at WDW doing ...

Im going to the dvd rental today - to get out some disney movies for the weekend

:banana::banana:

:lmao::lmao:Yeah, my arm won't be long enough to hold the menu out!!:lmao: I'm going to be bugging Erika to read it for me, or at least it accross the room for me!!:lmao::lmao:

I'm there for ya Candy!!! :)

I really want to do the Forbidden journey but I sometimes get motion sickness hoping my love of Harry Potter will get me through, that and a travel sick pill. :rolleyes1

We are riding for sure!!! I just fear we might not be able to ride anything else all day LOL. Hoping since the patch got us through a hurricane on the Magic, it can get me through FJ!!!

And Mission Space? We've never even been within 50 feet of the entrance to that thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dh and ds do that one, we go an do Journey to Your Imagination :rotfl2:.

I tried to do the online check-in for the first time but it didn't work out for us this time. We have 4 rooms booked and they are all under the same reservation number. If I checked in our room, it would also check in the 3 others with our c.c. # and stuff. Since, those rooms were for friends, I was told I was better off waiting until we get there to check in so there wouldn't be any issues.

So, I guess I will try the online check in next time.

This is our first time doing it so I am hoping it works out ok!!

Good morning everyone!

What a FUN way to spend the weekend!!:):goodvibes:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:):goodvibes

Did you combine it with a rebooking OBC/

No, this is our first DCL cruise (and I'm suspecting it won't be our last!).

Here is the countdown I have hanging on my cubicle wall at work!

CubeWall.jpg

Not a great picture, but you get the idea!

Busy weekend ahead for us. The whole family will be up in Allentown, PA for a drum & bugle corps show. Mario and I used to march in the Crossmen and there is a big alumni event/reunion in a nearby park all afternoon and then the show is in the evening.

Sunday we will be recovering and packing. I took this afternoon off so I can run errands and get my hair cut. Must make that run to BJs for sunblock!

Is there anyone else NOT dressing up in costume for pirate night? I picked up an inexpensive pirate costume for Ben at Target around Halloween but I don't think he will wear it, and I don't think anyone else is interested. :confused3

Maybe I'll just pick up eye patches for the four of us and make do w/ the bandanas! pirate:

Happy almost weekend!

Sounds like a fun weekend. Please take some pictures to share with us.

Love your countdown!! We have a countdown chain that the kids wake up each morning and take a link off of!!:thumbsup2:)

When we were there in 2007 the kids conked out (Ben was 2yo and in a Beco carrier and Beth (6) had crawled in the stroller) one afternoon in Epcot so Mario and I used child swap and both rode Mission Space taking turns.

He went first and we discussed the green/orange decision before he went in. While I was waiting... a group of teenagers came out all stoked because someone that was riding with them got sick during the ride so they all got "puke passes."

If I had any doubts about which version I would ride...that sealed the green decision right there!

We have a chain at home too for the kids...this one is for me!

I was so proud of myself yesterday at lunch here at work. We had a department pot luck (team bonding etc) and I made it through the entire hour without mentioning our upcoming trip!

good morning everyone!! like you all, we're getting so excited here too! It's so cool to be around other people who love disney like we do! Over dinner last night we were talking about what we need to pack in the car for the long drive down, and I was telling them how I've been having fun chatting with you all this week. So glad I decided to "join in"!!

Laurie you are very talented

thanks!! it's my creative outlet - but really, it's not that hard, just took some time to get good at it. :)

you're right, once you go on a disney cruise, you will be hooked! happened to us last year!

we don't really dress up much for pirate night - we have homemade t-shirts, and we'll put on some pirate tattoos - that'll be the extent of it..you will see a wide range on the ship - some don't do anything, others get really decked out. great people watching night!

Thanks for letting me know this. I've never done online check-in with more than one room before. I'm holding out until 7 days in case we get a waitlist (though I am doubtful). I did read on the Vero board that sometimes people get upgraded at check-in, so I can hold out a little hope for that! :wizard: Otherwise, we'll just make do without the kitchen.

:banana::banana:

I am so jealous! At least TODAY I can start with "this time next week we'll be flying down to FL"! We aren't going to WDW at all this trip. It is going to be very hard for me to fly into MCO and know I'm NOT going there. At least we'll still be doing Disney things, even if it's not WDW!

No, this is our first DCL cruise (and I'm suspecting it won't be our last!).

Yeah... after our first in Jan I since have been plotting 4 more... 2 are actually booked (counting this one)... which would make us Gold by 8/12! (maybe that's a bit too much... as if that were possible!)

Is there anyone else NOT dressing up in costume for pirate night?

We are doing Palo that night, so no pirate costumes for us. (Unfortunately, it also means we miss the group pic--I can't wait to see it posted here afterwards!)

Since we will be going to WDW after the cruise, our online check in won't be until Thursday.

I've actually started a day by day to do list!

I just starting chatting and I look so forward to everyone's post. It is so addicting. It is nice to know that I am not the only one crazy about Disney. I told my family that but they do not believe me. My kids 16 and 12 (boys) think I am crazy. But I catch them once in awhile asking me about the cruise and what we are doing.

You are definitely not alone!

We won't be really dressing up in costumes...we have matching Mickey head tie dye shirts and then we have Mickey, goofy and capt jack hats to wear. They give you bandanas at dinner too

Did you combine it with a rebooking OBC/

I just emailed my TA about rebooking on board, assuming that we wouldn't get the Disney Visa OBC in conjunction w/ the rebooking OBC.

She told me to definitely use the Visa because you can get both OBCs!

trying to decide what to do about our dinner time - when we booked, only late seating was available, but it looks like many of you are at main seating (esp. the girls katie has been emailing) --do I try to get it switched when we get onboard, or just go with it?

when we took a carnival cruise this past spring I did like having the later dinner.

See if you can get switched, since soo many of us are early dining it would be FUN to see you!!:):goodvibes:thumbsup2
