Some cool information

Found out last night Owner's Locker now has a deal with DVC that you can get 20% off your annual fee. We have two lockers now and love the convience of it. I no longer have to drag down shampoo and stuff, hair straigtners, etc.

Just wanted to share the information.

Lanyard Update

We have a total of 123 on order so far. Last day is June 11th.

Sorry to hear that your job is stressful - I do not like a boss who is watching everything I do!!

Kind of funny because it is not really my boss watching everything I do. It is really the public (we are in the news - TV and newspapers - all the time) and other schools and educators. Since our school is one of the few in the nation to go 1:1 iPads and let all 800 kids take them home, people are watching to see all the mistakes we make. My talk on Friday will be on the first 3 weeks of our program and I will highlight all the successes as well as all the challenges we have faced.

Man....I hate it when I am so busy that I don't have time to get on our site! There are so many things that I would love to comment on but I tend to get so far behind with this new job. Tonight I should be working on a presentation but I am kind of blowing it off. I was asked yesterday to be one of the keynote speakers at an Apple Computers event on iPads in education. This sounds like a great thing...but the event is on Friday and I am suppose to have my presentation in to Apple by the end of the day on Thursday! SCARY! :eek: There will be hundreds of educators at this event and it will be interesting....I just don't know how I feel about being a keynote speaker.

So, I will continue to blow it off for a bit and try to catch up a bit here. :rotfl:

It is a great blessing to get a job nowdays and I know you'll do great in the presentation, thank you for sending back the info for the website! and for understanding how crazy things can get, please let us know how you do! xoxo Elcka:thumbsup2
 
I like the idea of posting a design for the Castaway Cay 5K t-shirts and everyone ordering their own. That way everyone can pick what type of t-shirt they like (they have everything from tank tops, to fitted t-shirts, to performance shirts), and we don't have to worry about how to pay for them and have them shipped. I couldn't find any appropriate Mickey images on Cafepress. I was able to create one on Zazzle. What do you think?

I thought about putting a date on the shirts, but since there will be a run on each of our 2 CC days (I think), I thought that might be too complicated. And everyone could add their own text to the back of the shirts (a "team" name, or "back of the pack" or nothing).

If anyone has any ideas of a better design, I'd love to see them. I am not known for my creativity, so my feelings definitely would not be hurt if someone came up with something better.

Once we have a design down, I think we would just have to email a link to the design to whoever might want to order one. Or maybe someone can figure out how to just post the design on that website for orders?

I was wondering about a few things , but I'm not sure who to ask.

Can we arrange one or more definate group meets such as either at the port prior to boarding and on board?

Also is it possible to have a list here of everyone in the group who is cruising ?

I was also thinking of doing a group cabin tour.

It would be nice to see the various categories for future reference if we can have enough volunteers. Maybe on the first day before our cabins get messy, before the lifeboat drill ??.
We did it on a couple of our last cruises.

A cabin tour would be FUN. We did a tour of a few cabins last cruise and it was GREAT FUN!!
 
Its been hectic, its been crazy, but I guess I can share the details with all of you at the cruise. Harry - I create the website using iWeb and host it on my .mac account. This makes it difficult to have someone else help with updating it. What I could use some help with is helping when new people join in or there is something posted that I should add to the site. I have been so busy that sometimes I miss what is posted. If you wanted to help by sending me an e-mail or PM if there is important information posted here, that would really help.



I think we will have to see who is interested in each type of meet. I can put it on the website and then those who are interested for each one can let me know via PM or e-mail. I will put the list on the site and see which ones have enough people who want to get together.



I get hectic and crazy! You missed the whole point where due to my new job we started the process of canceling this cruise and then in the end, I begged my new boss for the time off and am back on the cruise again. There were several weeks where we were not planning on going so I took down our website and others took over with the main plans. I am now counting the days to the cruise so that I can have some totally relaxed and non-crazy days with everyone!



Let me know if you want to be added to the run on day 2 or the run on day 5...or both!



You could join in! I think it will be a great run and it sounds like there might be people walking if that is more your pace.



I usually make our t-shirts with transfers but I have also used Vista Print and ordered them as well.

Hi Everyone.

I am glad to hear all the great Mother's Day everyone had.

Things are busy with the end of the school year activities. My girls recital is only 4 weeks away - :scared1: where did the year go???? I get raffle prizes for our scholarship fund so I have running around asking for donations. That is four recitals to get items for - some people have been so generous but it is a tough economy out there.

I bought mine in a Disney store !!!
:confused3 MHO is that it would be nice to gift a little something to everyone in the cabin ; specially IF there are kids , they will be so excited to find many surprises !!!!! BUT I guess that how many gifts you wish to give ... :thumbsup2 is entirely up to you !!!!!
