Do the packing cubes really save room in the suitcases?? With Airlines charging luggage fee's for everything including overweight fee's I was wondering how heavy the cubes are?? Everyone seems to be buying them, so I am thinking of ordering them, but nervous about just wasting money on them.

Well, our post cruise plans have changed a little, when I booked the BCV for after the cruise I wait-listed us for BLT and the waitlist came thru! :cool1:Yeah, because I really want to see it, but nay because we are not planning on doing the parks this trip and now I will be seeing the Magic Kingdom all day and not going in! :sad1: My husband is not happy because he was looking forward to hanging out at the pool and the ESPN Club on the Boardwalk. It will be great, all of the ADR I made were for restaurants in all the Monorail hotels anyway, so we would have had to travel there anyway.

I also looked into 3 day park-passes and it would cost well over $1000 to get us into the parks:scared1: That is just way to much ontop of the cruise and 5 nights at VB pre-cruise.
Now I am just hoping that our VB waitlist comes thru!

I hope your VB waitlist comes through!! Can you get a cash reservation there??

I know that I am so late but just found this board. We are obviously DCL newbies! We are sailing the 16th as well and can't wait! I am quickly adding posts so I can PM Jen regarding the 8/16 cruise. I am traveling with my DH, DD who is 6 and DS who is 11. We will be at the Beach Club the week before.

We sent Bruce out to get bagels this morning and a lady hits him.:eek::scared1::scared1:I am telling you we need a vacation and NOW!!

Morning Everyone! Today is going to be a lazy sort of day in our house and I am so excited to just do what I want to do or even just do nothing! :goodvibes I am happy to say that I have the next 2 weeks off and am thrilled about that as well. I do have some work that I have to get done at home and I have to finish a presentation I will be giving on the 7th about our iPad program and I do have a few things to do for DD's dance team. Still, it should be relaxing. We will be leaving on on Friday (July 1st) to go up to our lake place and won't be coming back home until Saturday (July 9th).

Since we will be gone for the week, I feel like I have to get busy with a bunch of travel plans as well. I want to order a few smaller things for my FE gifts today. I also need to seriously start some shopping because I know my kids are in need of a few things. I think we will try to get to the Mall of America and hope for some deals. Finally, with the whole packing cube craze going on here...I am going to seriously consider those as well. I really liked the thread that showed the pictures of them being used. I wish a few more people would post photos with packed cubes though because I am such a visual learner.

Dang, I've missed a lot this week! I haven't been getting the emails about new posts, and then I forget to check the thread! I've been very busy lately, since I just got a full time summer job. :scared1: It's tiring, but I'll be glad to have some extra money when we go on the cruise. :goodvibes

I can't believe there are less than 8 weeks left! Only 50 days until we leave for Florida! :yay:

Congrats on the job! I normally have the whole summer off as a teacher but this summer have been working a lot so I know what you mean about being busy. I am just trying to think of the paychecks!

:welcome: Welcome to the cruise! Feel free to ask if you have any questions and I will look forward to getting your information when you can send a PM!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Kristin - Did you read on FB....Emily thinks you need a security guard to be sure that everything is safe for you! I think the whole family needs it!

Is Bruce okay? Is the vehicle damaged? :confused3

Crawl back in bed now!!!!

Welcome.
We'll be staying across the lake at Board Walk Villas. Hope your children will enjoy Storm Along Bay, the whirlpool, the slide and the sandy play area are great. We'll probably pass by to see the Big screen movie and do the campfire with smores at the beach, who knows we may bump into each other. We'll be there 8/13- 8/16.

Oh geez, sorry to hear this, glad he is OK, just another pain in the neck thing to get done. You guys definitely need a vacation!

I ordered some also, I mentioned it here last week and no one answered so I assumed no one has them. I started a thread in the main forum if anyone wants to see pictures of them in use.

I had voiced my opinion earlier, but with all the posts it probably got lost.

OK. I've been using these bags for years. The large is almost the same capacity as a carryon suitcase (12.75" x 17.5" x 3.25" ). The medium is usually big enough for me to place a weeks worth underwear in including socks and a swim suit when I'm using it in the drawer of a hotel or cruise cabin. The small is like a small toiletry bag size. The nice thing is that they have handles on the side and they weigh next to nothing. They are like my drawers away from home. I use different colors for each family member and it is easier to keep stuff organized in the suitcases.
The best thing is that they have a lifetime warrantee, but after 9 years mine are all in excellent condition.
Brenda

My Daughter is 14-going into 9th grade (January birthday)

I was back on Ebags this morning wondering if I should order more. I was looking into the packing folder/sleeve, thought it might be a good option for hubby's dress clothes. On Amazon the Eagle Creek one got not so hot reviews, but the same folder on Ebags everyone was raving about :confused3
It was SO helpful of Annie to post those pictures on the main boards. We're switching hotels 3x (a week in timeshare, a night at Beach Club and a night at CI&S night before cruise). Hoping to put these cubes to good use!

I just love the photos, that Annie posted on your new thread. I had misplaced my old packing cubes, so I ordered 3 more sets of them. Now they turned up, so I'll end up giving a set to my DM. I ordered the "slim" size, but I'm not impressed with that size. Still love the medium and the large though.

I just ordered another set for the girls last night too!!

Just wanted to double check... I don't want to read the daily schedules (like the surprise once I am on the ship)..

There is no formal night on the 5 night cruises correct? We dont mind them, but if we dont have to pack extra formal clothes, we wont.

Also, does Jim need a jacket for Palo? or will a shirt and tie work as well?

Thanks
Carole

As someone who has used them a lot....what would you recommend for a family of 4? It would be me, DH, DD (think teenager who over packs), DS and then what do you do with all your "extras" (shoes, toiletries, etc)?

Carole - I am one of those people that is totally sad by the fact that there is no formal night. DD and I are trying to decide how formal we want to go on the semi-formal night. I don't want to stand out for being over dressed but I also want to have fun getting dressed up.

As for Palo....DH did wear his jacket for dinner but not for brunch.
