Re: Pirate Costumes

If you don't want to pack costumes Hot Topic has Pirates in the Carribean t-shirts on clearance, plus it's buy one get one 50% off. Juniors/Adult sizes only. We did this last cruise too and I thought our pictures were just as cute as the full pirate costumes we've done on previous cruises.

Kristin-Good news about your dad! I'm glad he's on his way home

Thanks, they arrived home tonight..He is going to his regular dr. on Monday @ 11:00 so I am just hoping that it is good news and nothing is seriously wrong. Fingers Crossed!! So that they can come on the cruise with us still!!

:scared1::scared1:My poor foot today. I went out into the garage barefoot and stepped on a piece of metal and it went into my foot. I had to go and get a tetanus shot. It is the same foot I fractured!!:scared1::scared1:

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! :goodvibes

Pixie dust to all of you that are having some rough seas at the moment especially to the teacher who lost her student. I am a teacher as well and my heart goes out to you.

Someone asked how long a drive it is from our spot in Canada - well all told about 21 hours. We leave at 3am in the morning, stop that night and then are there by the following afternoon. It's not too bad really! It's the drive home that is so sad!:sad2:

Has anyone here ever stayed in Daytona? We are thinking of leaving a day early on our drive down to WDW and stopping overnight in Daytona - getting up and enjoying a walk on the beach and then heading over to Orlando and our villa for our check in. Any suggestions on where to stay? Or is there a beach somewhere along there that you'd recommend instead? I'm too eager to get our vacation started! :cool1:

Thanks again!

Kristen, you have to be more careful. You cannot do another thing to your foot. How is your ankle?

I am glad that your parents made it home safely. I hope everything goes well with your dad's doctor's appointment.

You are one brave woman LOL

Definitely Congratulations

Too Funny! We will have her drive some again today. I think the key here will be LOTS of practice!

Kristin - So glad that your dad is now home and can see his regular doctor.

I think this weekend you should find a comfortable chair by the pool, not move at all and rest that poor foot!

We drive from MN to WDW sometimes (last 2 trips) and it is a 24 hour drive. We usually just drive it straight through only stopping for gas and food....we get so tired though and the trip home is miserable.

We stayed at a really nice place in Daytona for one night in February. It was called the Bahama House. Our room was a 2 Queen Bed Ocean-Front Efficiency. I loved how we opened our patio door (large patio) and felt like we were right on the beach. The room and hotel were nice (nothing special but nice) and we had a package with free breakfast and free parking. I got it on Priceline for $130.21 all fees included.

Dang, I've missed a lot this week! I haven't been getting the emails about new posts, and then I forget to check the thread! I've been very busy lately, since I just got a full time summer job. :scared1: It's tiring, but I'll be glad to have some extra money when we go on the cruise. :goodvibes

I can't believe there are less than 8 weeks left! Only 50 days until we leave for Florida! :yay:

ONCE AGAIN HERE IS A FRIENDLY CABIN TOUR REMINDER.
WE ARE STILL MISSING THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES FROM OUR CABIN TOUR: CONCIERGE, R, T, 9A,and 8(B,C or D) IF ANYONE ELSE WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER THEIR CABIN FOR THE TOUR PLEASE SEND ME A PM, IT IS NOT TOO LATE.

UPDATE
Categories so far confirmed for the tour are:
11
10A
9B
8A
6A
5D
4B
V
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far.:grouphug:

The initial plan is to meet at 2-2.30pm on the ship on deck 13 forward in the family zone. This could be part of a general Dis group meet and greet if anyone is thinking of organizing one.
At 2.30p sharp we head off to tour the cabins which hopefully should be done in about an hour or so.
The selection of cabins will be narrowed down to those that are somewhat signficantly different from each other, so that we are not seeing duplicates.

Those who are showing, would be the Disers who volunteered their cabins to viewed.

Those who are touring will be the tourists travelling to view the volunteered cabins.

Those who want to do both will come along on the tour to see the other cabins and when we reach their cabin hopefully they will open the door so we can see theirs also.

The lifeboat drill takes place at 4pm.

Hopefully as long as we don't linger too long during our tour we should be done to give everyone enough time to meet back at their cabins to pick up the rest of their family for 4pm.

The sailaway party takes place at 4.30pm. You still have time to enjoy yourself.

I believe they start boarding the ship around 12pm??
As long as we all get to port by 10am, we should be able to be on board before 1p. There is a DCL Ship tour that meets at the Port Adventures Desk at 1pm. There is also a Spa tour at this time.
When I got on the Dream in April we got on really late. So we dropped off my DM in Cabanas the buffet restaurant, went on a tour, then picked her up an hour later. Since we had missed the scheduled Spa tour when we went there at 5pm after the sailaway party, it was quiet and they gladly gave us our own little private tour of the Spa, salon and fitness center.
There's alot of activities that overlap for you to to have a choice. Some do get repeated on another day.

If anyone has any other questions or concerns or ideas to help this tour work please let me know.

Brenda

Since everyone in the forums raves about them, I decided to order some packing cubes from ebags to give them a try. I found code CATASUMM11 that gives you 20% off and free shipping with no minimum purchase. Thought I would share the code in case anyone is looking to place an order.

I ordered some also, I mentioned it here last week and no one answered so I assumed no one has them. I started a thread in the main forum if anyone wants to see pictures of them in use.

The sun is making an appearance today :cool1: We've had a lot of rain and cool weather so it hasn't felt like summer started yet.

Anyone doing something fun this weekend? I'm having the family over tomorrow for DS birthday (which was on Father's Day). One week until DD goes to sleepaway camp for 2 weeks :scared1:

How old is DD? Today is graduation day in our town, but the party invites are next weekend. So we are just relaxing today and hope that summer comes in over the next week because Montauk, here we come!

Just noticed that on the Dream there are no category 7 staterooms ...
If somebody has a category 8, then the next category is 6 ... not 7

Have they forgotten a deck of the ship in Papenebourg ? Are they reusing one deck of the Dream on the Fantasy? ... maybe if on the Fantasy there will be a category 7A and a category 7B ... one of the two will be the forgotten deck of the Dream !!!

Have you used these before? I will have to check out your other thread. The reviews for them are awesome. I cant wait to get mine and try them out. With 4 kids, I am hoping it will help to keep each kids clothes separate in our suitcases.

I just read your other thread. Thanks for letting me know there were pictures. That was so helpful in making me decide I need to put in another order for more packing cubes! LOL...

LOL Addicting isn't it and we haven't even seen them yet

My Daughter is 14-going into 9th grade (January birthday)

LOL Addicting isn't it and we haven't even seen them yet

I was back on Ebags this morning wondering if I should order more. I was looking into the packing folder/sleeve, thought it might be a good option for hubby's dress clothes. On Amazon the Eagle Creek one got not so hot reviews, but the same folder on Ebags everyone was raving about :confused3
It was SO helpful of Annie to post those pictures on the main boards. We're switching hotels 3x (a week in timeshare, a night at Beach Club and a night at CI&S night before cruise). Hoping to put these cubes to good use!

Thanks, for the code. I ordered some a few weeks ago. Today, we stopped over my parents and my mom showed me how she used hers to pack for their recent trip. I am going to order one more set of the large ones!!

I read your thread and loved the pictures thanks, soo much !!

I ordered some too!:thumbsup2 Can't wait to see if they actually help me pack better!!! Lol!!!:rotfl2:

I just got another set of the large. So I will have six for the trip. Got the blue for me & DH and the raspberry colored for the girls. I got the large ones...........

I figured since we are going to VB before the cruise I will put all of our clothes for VB in one and then I really do not have to unpack much just take the packing cube out of the suitcase!!:cool1:
