August 16, 2011, Disney Dream - Part 2

[MICKEY'S DREAMERS]

We have had so many issues in the past too. Lost files are no fun at all!! We even bought an external hard drive so that we would have to deal with lost files, but I got lazy with my files the past year and didn't save them on it! Ugh! I hope we will be able to save these files, otherwise I have sooooo much work to do in the next two weeks!

CANDY ! Fingers crossed for you !!

Marco (DGH) has an external drive as well. I know that he purchased a licence (a few tens of USD) for a sofware that automatically, in background, makes a back up copy of his files with no "human" action required .
He is sure (hopes ?) that all his files are safe ... In fact he "controlled" last week and all his back up was done !

Who turned off the heat?!? Friggin' cold & oh, Happy Friday!

Happy Belated New Year!!!!
We had a great time on our trip, although the weather was cold and windy. And yes when you are on Deck 2 you can see waves splash your window when there are 20 foot waves and gale force winds! But a rocky ship is better than a snowy driveway any day.
Looks like I missed alot on here in the last 3 weeks! to all the new people cruising with us! Now that we're back I'll try to be on here more often.

WE are having a very grey day , with fog ... lots of fog , I cannot see the houses in front of ours ...
It's not cold though ...

Oh, I'm having LUNCH , I'm home alone : strawberries dipped in white chocolate !! Yummmm I HAVE to fight the sadness of such a grey Winter day ...

What a cool X-mas surprise, the NYE cruise was a surprise for my kids. I was on the Wonder for her last cruise before leaving. We got to see the Dream at the port when we got back. I did a drive by and shot a bunch of pictures, although none as good as we are now getting from the peeps that are already on her! I really can't wait to get on the Dream and see all that new stuff for myself.
Here's a pict of my son looking out our window at the waves, they were much bigger than they looked!

What great pictures!!! It must have been so much fun ringing in the new year onboard! Those waves look pretty high to me!!

We were supposed to be on the Wonder Panama cruise, but we unfortunately had to cancel. It was very sad!

Thanks, I took alot of pictures on the cruise so at least a few turned out good.
How were the NYE celebrations onboard ?

NYE was fantastic! They had fireworks that night instead of pirate night, they had a DJ on the deck and free champagne or fizzy cider for the kids in plastic champagne glasses that we got to take home. They also had FREE drinks before and after dinner that they were walking around with. There were like 4 different drinks to choose from one being a yummy rum punch! When the countdown was at 0 they launched a bunch of streamers and had all the characters out dancing.
I guess you could not use the pools ... there were many activities ?
There were kids in the pools every day, but not mine. They seemed to be having a good time riding the waves that would take them from one side to the other of the Mickey pool.
have you got pics of Castaway - decked up for the holidays ??
This is the one part that kinda made me upset, they took the decorations down before we got to the island. I don't know why they couldn't have left them up till our cruise left since it was a Holiday cruise. I was really looking forward to seeing the decorations!
Sorry for so many questions , I'm really curious ... and would like to dream on YOUR experience on the Magic !!Wonder.

All in all it was a great trip, but I don't think I'd do it again mostly because of the timing of the trip, it is a pain to get ready for a big trip right at Christmas time and then with the snows that keept on comming through that was more stress since I was driving. I like the idea of a spring trip or summer trip, but fall is my favorite time to cruise! I also ran my first CC 5K while I was there and let me tell you guys it was HOT! Runnung down that airplaine landing strip is not easy, I don't know if I'll be able to hang this August.

Candy, I'm so bummed you had to cancel the PC cruise. I wish I could have just stayed on the ship and stowed away! It seemed like the weather was just getting better as we were leaving, our last 2 days were the best out of the trip. Although I did read that they were not able to dock at CC so I guess the conditions must have gotten worse instead of better down there.
