Good morning everyone! 7 months sounds so much better since we booked a dummy ressie for this ship in December 2008 and then switched it to this date when it opened in March 2010.

Have a great Sunday everyone

I agree 7 months sounds soo much BETTER!!:thumbsup2:banana:

I'm still here too! Things get so crazy during the school year I don't really get to post much - but have been reading about everyone else's adventures.
7 months does sound waaaay better!
We are so excited - although we still haven't decided whether we'll be flying or driving - waiting for SW to open up our dates and see what the fares will be. If we drive, I don't think we'll be doing WDW before/after as I had originally thought.
Not sure what we'll do in Nassau - was considering taking in Atlantis, but we may just make that a special trip all on its own. What else is there to do in Nassau?

--Oh and :cheer2: :welcome: :cheer2: to all the new cruisers!

Hello all,
Haven't posted in a long time. I just wanted to let everyone know we are still here. I am hoping to be more active on this thread.

Welcome to all the new cruisers!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!!

Hey there!!! Steve and I were just talking about you at lunch yesterday, he was asking if you were coming along with us in August. We can't wait to see you again!

 Oh yes !! Things get so crazy during the school year ... :rolleyes1 I AM A TEACHER going back to school tomorrow ;) after our Christmas holidays :19 days off !!!!!!!!:cheer2:

In Nassau there are so many interesting experiences : beaches are a must , but you could also explore its history ( we once did on our own the walking tour of old monuments , Fort Fincastle etc) or folklore , we are willing to visit the Juncanoo museum and maybe also the Pirates interactive exhibit ...
I'm told there are beautiful op if you like scubadiving or whatever water activity you can think of ...
D
isney offers lots of excursions , but I guess it could be "rather" safe to explore town /shopping and such on our own .
:goodvibes laura

Wow! 19 Days?!?!?! I'm a teacher too - We are lucky if we get 10 :sad1:
I guess I'll take a look at some of the excursions and see what may interest us - we're doing a B2B, so we'll be at Nassau twice and were thinking of just staying on board at least one of the stops as other cruisers say "there's not much to see/ do on the island.
Thanks for the suggestions Laura!:goodvibes

We booked our flight down to Orlando today! Airtran had a great price going down from philly... and we just had to grab it before it went up! We would have loved to taken a flight From our local airport but the one flight time offered would have brought us in late at night and it cost more. So philly it is @$72 pp. Now I just have to wait to get a flight home!

Hi Candy! :goodvibes Good to hear from you again!

My DD8 and I were talking about our cruise today. When I asked her what she was looking forward to the most on the Dream, her reply was, "Sleeping in the bunk bed!!" Can you believe that?? Not the Aqua Duck, not the characters...the darn bunk beds!!:rotfl2:

LOVE IT! It is so funny what the kids look forward to.

Don't know about anyone else but I'm starting to get really excited - it nearly 7 months.

I am TOTALLY getting excited! But....at this point, I am more excited about our February trip since we are 45 days out from leaving!!!!

Starting think about what to do in Nassau. Any ideas??? We've never been there before. Boys are 15 and 10.

Hello! We plan on spending most or all of our time in Nassau on the ship. I would like to just stay on the ship but DH would like to get off for a little bit. Last time we were there, we took a quick walk down to the market and then just got right back on the ship. I stayed in port just a bit longer and had my hair braided/beaded and would actually consider doing it again.

:worship: BIG THANKYOU !!! :)
Our first choice would be The Village as we are very curious ( after all ;) WE are Italian !) ... but DGH  is "grumping" that I give him Italian food every day !!!! :rotfl2

Laura - I have to say that this strikes me as a bit funny as well. I would think that since you eat Italian food every day that you would do the other tour. However, I could eat Italian food every day so I can see Grumpy's choice. :rotfl:

I need to ask DGH  to find new photos of our inside room for me on the Web ... :cloud9:

I will have to find some more to post on our website so that you can go there and dream about your room!

Hello! Good to see you again! I know what you mean about things being crazy during the school year. I was just saying that I can not be allowed to put one more thing on the calendar! :confused3

Good Luck tomorrow Laura! I hope you enjoy your first day back at school and that you remember not to work too hard. :goodvibes

This year we had 7 days off and it went way too fast! :sad2:

Great job getting a really good price on your flight. I keep checking flights to see if prices get better here but they are just too high so we will be keeping our driving plans. In many ways it is better because it allows us to bring everything we want (ie....over-pack! :rotfl2:).

7 months definitely sounds better!:thumbsup2 Guess I better start thinking about my FE gifts! I'm getting excited too!

Hi Candy! :goodvibes Good to hear from you again!

LOVE IT! It is so funny what the kids look forward to.

True! You never know what kids will like. DS would love to have a bunk bed in our room, since there is only 3 of us, I doubt our room will have one. I guess I should try and find out if we do.

I am TOTALLY getting excited! But....at this point, I am more excited about our February trip since we are 45 days out from leaving!!!!

Have fun! Maybe the weather will be warm. It will definitely be warm to you though!

I tend to over pack myself! But if you drive you don't have to worry about packing the FE's! We will probably drive too.
I'm not sure what we will do on Nassau either. We might get off and walk around. I would like to do the Atlantis, but it's kind of expensive.

We never visited Chinatown in London , but the Chinatown we visited last Summer in Honolulu was  let's say " Not a clean place at all !" ... though our friend Matt made us sample some interesting food ...

I guess DGH and I need to debate a little bit more ...

THANKYOU for sharing your opinion !!! :):) laura

Point well taken though - it would be like us traveling overseas and eating at an Applebee's or something?!? :rotfl: Traveling to Italy is on our "bucket list" though as DW's grandmother insisted until the day she died that's where the best food in the world is located!!

Hi everyone, Just an FYI that there is an up to 40% off deal going on for rooms at WDW between 8/14 and 10/1 (which dovetails nicely with our cruise!) so if you are planning on booking a room pre or post cruise, do check it out. I had originally booked a room at the Wilderness Lodge for what I thought was a decent rate. Then I got onto the WDW booking site and clicked on the special offer section, saw the deal and managed to book the room at the WL for an even greater deal. I even managed to move us up to the club level. So I'm very pleased with myself right now!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Add us to the list, we are sailing with a very large group this time. We have 4 staterooms linked together including TinkerbellTwins who joined the list a little while ago.

My family is me Jeff (Pudo), DW, DD (18), DD (7). My younger daughter is good friends with TinkerbellTwins' daughters. They met on the 10/30/10 Halloween cruise which was a blast. Many of those DISers have rebooked on the Fantasy 08/25/2012 Eastern. My older daughter managed to get her best friend (also 18) to come along this time so Vibe club is going to be rocking. :)

The others traveling include two other staterooms/families. It looks like 5 adults and two children so a total of 17 cruisers linked together for main dining.

This will be our 9th DCL cruise, looking forward to sailing on the Dream. We would like to be part of the FE, the one on the Halloween cruise worked out really well.

Florida to PA is a big adjustment, good luck with the house hunting. I'm a DBA that works in Princeton; let me know if your husband has any questions about the area.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff! I am a little afraid of the change. Hopefully, it will be a smooth transition.

Hello Everyone.

7 months sounds great!!! We have our count down started on our wipe board - kids love to change it every day.:cool1:

Jen - what are the dates that you are going to Disney in Feb?
