Thats awesome, sounds like being at STEM should be a fun new challenge.

On a totally unrelated note... the kids are off school today too, we did get the full inch and a half they were calling for! Think my kids will still be in school till our trip in August?

Your kids might still be in school until August and in Minnesota, we will still have snow on the ground! :lmao:

Hi All-
We booked our 2nd DCL trip on 8/16. We are sooooo very excited to visit Castaway Cay twice in one trip! It will be me(John), DW (Marybeth) and our 2 DS (Nick, 12 and Matt, 8). Looking forward to the trip and maybe chatting and meeting new friends!

We will be on this cruise.. It will be me(Rob) dw-Priscilla,dd- Rachel 16 and her bff Shanelle 15. Are you guys doing the fish extender thing?

Okay - just have to share the news. Most of you do not know that I have not had a job or the details of how stressed I have been without having a job. It has been a really hard summer/fall for my family knowing how bad the economy is and that I couldn't get a job anywhere. I had actually begun to wonder if we should look at changing our Disney plans...meaning possibly even canceling or changing this cruise.

GOOD NEWS TODAY.....I GOT A JOB!!!! :cool1: I got an independent contracting job with a school district (3 year contract, possibly longer or the possibility of other jobs in the district). I will be technology integration specialist and be helping the teachers learn how to integrate technology into their units. The school I will be at is a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) school that has the latest in technology.

I am just so excited and had to share! I feel like now I can really get excited about our cruise as well because having a job means that we can afford to do Disney!!! :woohoo:

:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:

Welcome to all the new guys ' I'm the honary Brit on this cruise :rotfl:

Jen Congratulations on the job - that must be a great relief!

Helen - The pictures of Bella are so cute! I love the one with her by the tree! Glad to see that you are almost to your holiday break. We have 3 days to go before we are on break (my job and the kid's schools) but DH is already on his break. We are really tired of snow and cold in Minnesota too! Here is hoping you have a warm and wonderful Christmas!!! :goodvibes

Does anyone know if there is a formal night on the 5 night cruises?

Not that anything will be the same with the new ship and all, but in reviewing some 5 night Navigators from earlier this year there were 2 "cruise casual", 1 "pirate", and 1 "optional dress up" nights.

Evening Everyone!

I am assuming the same thing as Harry posted since that is what the 5 night cruises have been. This kind of makes my family sad because we really love the formal night. I know a lot of people don't like packing the formal wear and getting all dressed up but for us, it is so much fun and I loved wearing a full-length dress!

I would think they would be sharing more about this soon since the first cruise is going to take place soon! You would think those people might want to be planning if they are having a formal night.

We like the formal nights too, however it is an extra piece of luggage for us, so it is nice not to have to pay $50 just to bring the formal wear :)

I know that we will miss the formal night too. I guess we never know until the first 5 night sailing what will happen..

Did anyone notice that the Maiden Voyage of the Fantasy just got pushed forward??

Well, I hope our kids will meet up and become "Disney Friends". My oldest son is just beginning to realize girls are not "icky" so I expect some interesting times in my future! LOL!
