Hi All-
We booked our 2nd DCL trip on 8/16. We are sooooo very excited to visit Castaway Cay twice in one trip! It will be me(John), DW (Marybeth) and our 2 DS (Nick, 12 and Matt, 8). Looking forward to the trip and maybe chatting and meeting new friends!

Welcome aboard! We visited Castaway Cay twice on our last cruise and loved it! My DS will be 11 on the cruise and is so excited to meet all the kids again.

All of you from a snowy region can understand my frustration right now, I just went online and found out that school is closed today. Not from the foot of snow that we have on the ground, but for the inch and a half that we might get that isn't supposed to start until 10 or 11AM. Does anyone else think that's a little over cautious? Why not just let the kids get out early? Silly Marylanders!

That is just silly! We got 20 inches here on Saturday to Saturday night and it was crazy - yet....kids were still at school Monday morning bright and early. We were suppose to get 5 more inches today but thankfully it stayed south of us.

Hey Rob! Yep, we are doing the fish extender. Check out the post on the first page of our thread....it will tell you want to send me in a PM and I will get you the information for the website.

I am having MAJOR computer issues right now (the hard drive fried on my computer). I am hoping to have everything running good as new by the new year again. Right now people can view the site but I can't change anything (or add new families on the page) until my computer hard drive is all set up again.

Okay - just have to share the news. Most of you do not know that I have not had a job or the details of how stressed I have been without having a job. It has been a really hard summer/fall for my family knowing how bad the economy is and that I couldn't get a job anywhere. I had actually begun to wonder if we should look at changing our Disney plans...meaning possibly even canceling or changing this cruise.

GOOD NEWS TODAY.....I GOT A JOB!!!! I got an independent contracting job with a school district (3 year contract, possibly longer or the possibility of other jobs in the district). I will be technology integration specialist and be helping the teachers learn how to integrate technology into their units. The school I will be at is a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) school that has the latest in technology.

I am just so excited and had to share! I feel like now I can really get excited about our cruise as well because having a job means that we can afford to do Disney!!!

Wow! In light of last year you would think they'd hold out in case they needed to use "real" snow days.

The high school here lost power the other day at like 8:30AM. They kept the kids there - in the cold & partial darkness - until 11:45AM so they could get in a "half-day"! I fear it's going to be another loonnnnggggg winter!!

It does feel like Christmas has come early in our house. I think that the new STEM (or whatever they are called in each state) schools are going to be a huge deal for a while. It is a great opportunity for me to get in as they are developing the program as I will be responsible for the multi-million dollar grant. I am really excited!

And last night they were saying 5 inches possible for the game on Monday and another "significant" storm for Thursday and Christmas Eve, OMG, enough already!!!

On a totally unrelated note... the kids are off school today too, we did get the full inch and a half they were calling for! Think my kids will still be in school till our trip in August?
