Welcome CCM1281 - you will love this site - i just joined a week ago or so, and i'm here ALL the time - don't want to miss anything!! We are realllllllly excited for this cruise (our first) even though i'm not wanting to rush the summer either. The Monday after we get back, DS starts his 1st day of High School - so summer will have ended and sadly the cruise too....

where you are coming from?

Head north on Harbor till you pass the 91 Freeway There is a Character warehouse in the strip Mall on the southeast corner of Harbor/Orangethorpe.

I find that in Summer the REAL good deals are harder to come by. It is always loaded in the fall.

Found this on the main DIS site. Thought it might be helpful.

Hola amigos and amigas:

We have an afternoon city tour plan with Mazatlan Frank. There are 6 available spaces left. Anyone interested? PM me for more info. Mazatlan Frank will make sure he will have us back an hour before DCL departure time. :flower:

I can't believe how many more people are going on our cruise! This is going to be great.

Brenda - DS doesn't have to go back to school until the first Wednesday after labor day. But I still told him his summer reading book report and math worksheet need to be finished before we leave for vacation.

I see that people on the 7/28 Wonder have just received their documents. I guess it's maybe another week before we see ours.

Ohhh - you are lucky that you have that time between getting home and school beginning! Ryan has summer reading project that seems a little extensive - but i told him same thing - has to be completed & turned into the school before we leave -

Another week till docs or so? Always excited driving home each day - anxious for docs and more Disney clothes to have arrived!!!!! :-)

We would be interested in joining your tour. However we have a family of 6 adults, two kids ages 5 and 7 and two infants ages 1 and 2. Think Frank might be able to get another driver. Where are you going. I just started to email Frank on a different chat line. We might be interested in going to the old colonial town and mining town outside of town, lunch at the place called Tony's and then swimming at a hotel pool. Let me know what you had planned for your tour. Are you from Hawaii. I grew up in Manoa in Oahu. In fact my DM and DSi, SBL, and DN1 are coming from Hawaii for the cruise. I now live in San Bruno CA and my other DSi and DBL and DN2 are from Livermore, CA. DMIL lives in San Francisco.

Drlum, we are going to try to go to Tonys for the beach on our Mazatlan day. Frank had suggested that as a good public beach (as long as we eat or drink, LOL) so we are hoping it works out for us. We are just going to try to take a cab from the port.

I am emailing Matzalan Frank about getting us to Tony's and then maybe doing a city tour in the afternoon. I heard that you can rent Jet skis. My son and I went on a jet ski about two years ago in PV. When we were in PV we actually stayed at the hotel NH Krystal. It truely is a nice resort. The pool is huge. They also have a great little spa there. I think in PV we are going to take a taxi to the beginning of the Melacon. Walk along the Melacon and see the great sculptures along the beach front. The church is about one or two blocks off of the beachfront. You can't miss seeing it. Then at the very end of the Melacon is the two story tourist mart. There are lots of cute things there. There is also an upstairs with more stores. Sometimes a little cheaper upstairs. There is a small little restaurant that is a very local place. Had a nice brunch there last time. Cross over the bridge to the middle island. We bought four great pictures painted by a local artist just directly underneath the bridges that span the on the island. There is also a nicer but a little more pricy restaurant called River Cafe on the middle island. We ate here too. There is a really nice pottery store where we brough four great vases. Not the cheap touristy stuff that is at every other stall. Can't remember exactly which street. Need to be there to find it. More expensive but we actually have these pieces on display in our home. We plan on catching a taxi back to NH Krystal to swim before returning to the ship. I believe the ship is just around the corner from where the NH Krystal is. From town to NH Krystal I believe it was about $5 or $6.

Hi DocDisney:

Got a PM from Mazatlan Frank - he is trying to get a large vehicle to accommodate all of us - an open air fun trolley. We were planning to do the city tour because of the time factor but we can go with the flow. I think Mazatlan Frank can customized our tour to satisfy everyone. I am open to new adventures.

I am from another island - Philippine Islands. Born there, grow up in Norfolk, VA and Quincy, MA then return back to the islands when Dad retired from the Navy in 1966. When martial law was declared in 1973, we returned to US and settled in Southern California. I visited the Oahu and Kauai back in 1994 as a tourist but the tourists/locals thought I was a local - so go figure I must look Hawaiian. Here in the South Bay, large communities of Hawaiians, Filipinos and Asians so we blend together. Cecilia DN9 is taking hula and tahitian so we are practically honorary Hawaiians. She is performing at a HO'OLAULE'A this weekend and HOIKE (our halau's 25th anniversary) on Aug 27. :goodvibes Look forward to meeting you and your family. :bounce:

I got my Fantasmic Dessert Buffet tickets!

The only thing I don't like is that they are for the 10:30 show. I would have preferred 9:00 since we will be working with a 3 hour time difference but we're not doing it until the second night so maybe we will have adjusted a little. I guess I'll have to take a long nap when we get on the ship.

What are people doing in Cabo. We don't have any plans yet and have never been there. I was thinking of just walking around town and then trying to find a hotel where the kids could use the pool. Does anyone know of any organized tour leaders like Matzalan Frank?

Hi DocDisney:

Try PM to Mazatlan Frank - he probably has some contacts in CSL. We are doing the DCL Land's End Cruise then probably go into town and check out the Hard Rock Cafe and shop. :flower:

Randall - my DS & I are doing the Chileno Bay snokel tour - Cabo has a Hard Rock & the Cabo Wabo (Sammy Hagar's place i think) which we're going to try to get to after the snorkel tour...i have heard rumors (maybe others can confirm) that a certain amt of reservations are held by DCL for onboard passengers to book....if you can't find any other non-DCL tours

Hi Brenda:

I love your pictures - how did you do that? I tried to upload pictures but it keep telling me that it can accept from a foreign host. :confused3
