Here's the best way to describe it - straight from their own website

RideMax is a computer software program guaranteed to help you save time waiting in line at Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

RideMax allows you to specify the attractions you wish to ride during your visit, then uses a sophisticated scheduling algorithm to order your attractions so that the amount of time you spend in line is minimized.

Cool! Thanks!

You're welcome!!! Have an awesome time at DL; not going again till Nov/Dec - when they convert Haunted Mansion to "Nightmare before Xmas!!" DS hasn't been there yet for that - i go every Nov and then usually again in the spring!!

32 Days 0 Hrs 14 Mins 31 Secs until we leave for DL!
OR
768 hours
46092 minutes
2765540 seconds

OMG - you've been busy with the calulator!!!!! how fun that so many of you are going to DL before the cruise - guess we could have done that - but never go during the summer so didn't even think about that......although in hindsight, it might have been better - and would get me to the port earlier - we don't land at LAX till 10:40 - so probably won't get there till noonish depending upon how many the DCL transfer shuttle is picking up around that time....and i'm not sure about our luggage - do we have to go to baggage and get it, or is it going to be automatically taken to the ship??? Sure anxious to get our docs and all those answers!!!!!

I cheated - I have a countdown program called Disneytime. It does the calculations for you :).

Oh that is very cool!!!

I have never been on a chat room until about one week ago. Does anyone know how to change the logged in name. I just happen to be an optometrist. The easiest way for me to remember my log in name was to put my name. Now I feel kind of silly for putting my name. We will be traveling with my sisters, their husbands, their two kids DD2 and DS1, DM, DMIL and my family. My name is Randall, DW is Irene, DS Matthew (7) DD Carolyn (5). We are in a catagory 6 room.

Look forward to reading more over the next few weeks. Just spent about 2 hours reading all the old post.

For those of you going to DL for the first time. Check out the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland at your local library. It has a lot of great information. Author is Bob Sehlinger. It has one day, two day and different age group plans for Disneyland.

I am the Disney nut in my family. Just so you know a great way to see Fantasmic is to enter the show area for New Orleans Square about 10 minutes after the first show has begun. Then wait out and watch the fireworks and the end of the first show. When everyone gets up at the end they will stand up and move out of the area. You then proceed down to the front row to see the show. While you are waiting you can split up your party and go and ride Pirates, Haunted Mansion, go shopping in New Orleans Square, go to the Restroom or get snacks.

Another HINT FASTPASS does not expire. You do not need to return between the stated time on the fastpass ticket. You can return anytime after the stated time and they will let you in. THis way you can collect a fastpass for later in the evening before you go back to your hotel room for a nap.

The best place to see the Electric Parade is Directly in front of Hollywod Pictures back lot. Most people will not sit in this area because they think it is a walkway entrance into Hollywood Pictures back lot. However if you look at the sidewalk you can see where you can sit or just ask a cast member.

Another hint. Roger Rabbit Cartoon spin is not connected to the same fast pass system as the other rides. You should be able to get another fast pass for Cartoon spin even if you already hold one for another ride. This is as of 11/04.

Welcome DocDisney!! that should be your 'login' name. I too didn't think about my login when I joined and just used my boring email address which is my name too. You will have to 'rejoin' using your new login i believe. Thinking about doing this myself but probably after our WC Disney cruise next month. I just joined these groups myself maybe a wk ago and I'm addicted now!!! But it's a great place to get and share a TON of info! If you rejoin under another signon, let us know what it is!!!

I may do the same later - after our WC MAGICal cruise 8/13!!! I just joined last wk and am totally addicted - i've read so many of the threads but have found soooo much info! i'm totally the disney nut in our family but fortunately my DS14 (who is accompanying me on cruise) is as well - hubby no - daughter - a little! :-)
let us know if you rejoin w/a new login!!

Dont everyone go changing names on us here, we will never get it all straight, LOL!

Welcome, drlum...Randall! :cool1:
Thanks for the DL advice. That will help.

It is so hard for me to believe this trip is under a month away now. We have a paper chain going and I keep reminding the kids "Take another day off!!!". :teeth:

Anyone know where the best place to watch the fireworks is? I've heard you should have a view of the castle and matterhorn. We are planning on doing this on Thursday and Fantasmic on Friday.

I cant speak from experience yet, but from what I've heard watching them from the Hub is the best view.

first things first...welcome drlum!

wow, a lot has been happening on this thread!

as for fireworks...we had seats by one of the restaurants (they had yellow & white umbrellas) and we were able to see the castle & the fireworks. however, there were trees around, and we had some "obstructed" views, but it was ok, cuz we were seated on chairs! i did see lots of people sitting right on the floor (would that be the hub?) and from there, it seemed like it wasn't blocked by trees or anything. but you're on the floor. that's what i've observed!

have fun! :flower:

I am just trying to test this. What is a URL. I was trying to post a reply and it said I have one or more URL and could not post.

The best place to see the fireworks is directly in front of the castle in the Hub to the different lands. However this area gets really crowded. This way you get to see the fireworks go off directly behind and above the castle. You can also see most of the fireworks from around the Lake near New Orleans square. The music will play in this area also. Be prepared for a mass of people leaving the park right after the fireworks. I like to watch the fireworks from the walkway inbetween the castle and tomorrowland. You get blocked by a few of the trees but you can often get a spot here much closed to the fireworks time. Then when the fireworks are over you can walk directly back into tomorrow land and ride a few more rides here before the rest of the crowd disperses. Or take the monorail back to downtown disney without much of a wait. Remember that Toontown closes early because this is the area that the fireworks are shot off from. Make sure to see Aladdin show in California Adventure. It is broadway style show. Legoland. I heard that someone was going to Legoland. FYI you can buy discounted tickets at Costco.

There is a Disneyland outlet store in a mall somewhere close by to Disneyland. You will most likely need a car to get there. They actually have a traveling Disney store that sell close out or other back stock from Disneyland that travels around. We just went to one at the Petaluma, near Napa and saw a sweat shirt 55 years that I bought at Disneyland last year for 55.00 for about 35.00. I signed up for the mailing list. They say they will mail you a card when the store gets within 25 to 50 miles of where you live. I don't know how to contact them other than that. You might be able to call the Chealsea Premium outlets in Petaluma, CA and add you name to their mailing list.

I've been to the traveling outlet store when it was by us. I got some great deals. I don't think they've been around us in over a year (I miss it:(). We've been to DL before but DM has never been. We only have a day and 1/2 before the ship sails so we need to pack a lot in to a short space of time. We watched the fireworks from the walkway between the castle and tomorrow land at WDW. I've just heard there are so many effects that you need to see the castle and matterhorn. Maybe we'll try to a spot at the hub. It's a one time shot so I'd really like to see it.

Hi there...I've always liked them from near the Park (top of Main Street) right in front of the castle...all you guys going to DL before the cruise is making me jealous (especially since i originally scheduled flights {in error} for Friday 8.12 instead of Sat 8.13) now i wish i had kept those flts and just gone to DL that Friday afternoon & night :sad2: &

Just an FYI we are celebating my mom's 70th birthday on August 18, 2005. We also are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary (actual date is 9/16).
