We're staying at Disney's Old Key West resort - I wish we had time to go to Key West. I love it there. DH has a dream of retiring there with a bed and breakfast. I just want to retire there.

I'm hoping that DS will let me take it easy this WDW trip. I really want to enjoy the atmosphere and not rush around the world.

have a great time! how long will your trip be? wdw is another place we need to go...but i think we're saving that for when the kids are a bit older. they're just a little too young, i think. i'd be tired!!

guess what, everyone??!!?? i went out & purchased a new luggage for our boys! it's just so exciting...and starting to buy things for the cruise! i'm trying not to get too carried away here... :flower:

We're flying into Tampa on Sat. 4/23 (because it was more to fly into Orlando than it will be for us to fly to CA in August). We're staying until the next Sat 4/30.

I started packing (I pulled the Mickey luggage out of the attic on Sunday). I wish I were packing for the cruise but I guess some things you just need to wait for.

When we get back I need to make the final payments and order our DL tickets.

Sounds great!

Ok, Ill do it......

4 months from right now we will be getting ready to board the ship!!!!!!! :cool1:

Hey Friends

I have my list of things to pack and so far my whole page is full. :)
As for my clothing I didn't know if I was packing to much. I guess this question will not be for the first time cruisers on Disney :) b/c we don't know what to bring and what not to bring. I wanted to pack the following:

1st Day - Casual wear / Swim wear / Formal wear
2nd Day- Casual wear / Swim wear / semi formal wear
3rd Day- Casual wear / Swim wear / Dinner wear
4th Day- Casual wear / Same swim wear / Dinner wear
5th Day- Casual wear / same swim wear / Dinner wear
6th Day- Casual wear/ same swim wear / Dinner wear
7th Day- Casual wear

I'm not planning on washing. I will wash our swim suits out and dry them on the Verendah. I'm planning on bringing 3 swim wear suits. Should I bring more or less? Kids are planning on swimming a lot.

I was not sure if there was one or two Formal nights. Are they going to have a tropical theme? does anyone know

Casual = shorts, t-shirt, sandals, sun dresses, etc.
Dinner wear = Dockers, Linen/slacks, nice shirt/blouse,
or can we be really casual for dinner. I will bring two pair
of slacks/dockers to wear every other day.

Of course it's not going to go in this order but this is just an idea. :flower:

I didn't want to post this on the other thread b/c I was afraid people were
going to start a chat fight :) on Formal and Casual wear and start a long post about who's dressing up and who's not :) oh those post are so funny. I love to read them. I personaly want to dress up and maybe after cruising for the 3rd and 4th time I may change my mind. But I will follow the rules and find out for myself if it was worth bringing Formal wear.

This is probably a boring post, but I was bored and wanted to chat :earboy2:

ROFL! I just realized my timing was off because of the time difference in CA. ;)

Sounds like a good plan JayCee!
I will be doing laundry because we will be gone for almost 2 weeks, with 4 people and there is no way I could pack that much stuff. I used to be dead set against laundry on vacation, but we went to WDW over Christmas a couple years ago for 10 days. That long of a trip with all different sorts of weather clothes made me have to do it...and I found out it wasnt so bad. ;)
Ill probably do a couple loads before we leave DL, then a couple on board. I guess overall 4 loads in 2 weeks actually is a vacation, LOL! :)

Oh yes 2 weeks...I will be at the laundry also. Im glad it wasn't that bad.
This is our family's first trip so I am pretty sure my attitude will change next time around about washing :)

sounds like a plan! i was thinking of packing 3 swimwear as well! on our previous cruise, i've packed capris...and i've rotated them, where i'd wear one on one night, and wear the same one (with a different top), on another day. i figured, i don't really get dirty in them, so it's ok...and it's not for consecutive nights/days! the way i see it...less clothes, more room for souvenirs! hee hee

i believe we are having 1 formal night...1 semi formal. although, personally, i don't quite know the difference between one & the other, except one is more dressier than the other. but both are pretty dressy, i suppose. as you can tell, we're not fancy people! i'd rather live in shorts & sandals!

i did get this really cute skirt! and i've bought some swim trunks for DH & DSs.

oh, i have another good news to share! we're going down to san diego!! DH wants to check out the new stadium! and i said since it's a drive down, we might as well stay for couple days! how exciting is that! thought i'd share the good news with you all! :flower:

Love San Diego....Sea World is my favorite. You'll have a great time.
So I will definetly rotate the clothes so I can pack lighter. Hey Im not fancy at all. Were a very casual family :) We will be the family u see running to the room to change after dinner :rotfl: Have you decided which excursions you are going to go on? I know we decided to do Randi and remember she will be at the terminal and not at the ship :)

Enjoy San Diego. I haven't been there in years but I really liked it (especially the zoo).

Cool! An extended trip! :goodvibes

I usually do 3 or 4 bathing suits too. I start out the trip in the 2 pieces, then I move to the tankinis, then by the end of the trip Im in the full 1 piece. :rotfl: Yes,I like to eat on vacation, LOL!
Rotating the cothes is a good idea too.
We dont get the chance to dress up often so we do look forward to it when we get the chance.

A two piece CAM " you go girl" :) I'll do the 2 piece and bring my robe for a cover up and not a wrap around :rotfl: Maybe I should start my sit ups :) I'm really excited about the family dressing up also.....but once were done those 3" heals are coming off so fast.

ROFL! Well, Ill be on my 5th day of vacation by the time we are on the ship...I may be into the tankinis by then. :rotfl:

Ill probably keep my formal wear on for the night after dinner. We have late dinner and weird as it sounds, I like dresses and heels. Thats probably because I never wear them. ;)

thank you! we went to sea world last year, so we're doing legoland this year. DS5 is really looking forward to legoland!

that's a good idea about bikini first, then tankini, and then, 1 piece! for me, i'd have to be just in "regular" tank & shorts after that! becuz i do love to eat!! that's one of the many things i'm looking forward to on our cruise!!

i am looking forward to dressing up! we don't get a chance to dress up often...unless there's a wedding or something. so it's nice to see everyone dressed up. and i love the idea of "getting ready"!

as for excursions...we're looking at paradise beach resort at pv, Randi's horse at mazatlan, and nothing planned for cabo. heard there's a costco there, and DH LOVES to visit costco at other places...(don't ask me why...), so maybe we might check that out. i know, it's not very "touristy"...but i guess he's on vacation too! we'll see! i think some of you are doing paradise beach too, right? and JayCee32...we'll all be with Randi! cool! was there anyone else going with Randi?

i love hearing about others' plans!

oh...as i was driving home today, i saw a van that had a sign/label that said "lax to disneyland", or something to that effect. the website was www.shuttle2000.com. for those who were still looking for transfer/transportation...another option to look into. :flower:

For excursions I think the only real one we are doing is the kids swim with the dolphins in Puerta Vallarta. DH and I of course will do the "go along".

In Mazatlan we are going to go to the beach on our own. Mazatlan Frank suggested a beach near a Tonys restaurant and I think we will try that.

DH's one request for Cabo is to go to Sammy Hagars place Cabo Wabo (or Wabo Cabo...I dont know). Since it will be early and and we will have the kids with us, we will just go for lunch or stop in for a quick drink and munchies. We definitely wont be partying, LOL! Jut want to say we went.

I think when we get back WDW we'll set up a conference call with nieces in CA and try to finalize excursions. DN 12 wants to snorkel but I don't snorkel and I'm not sure if DH will go with her. I know the 2 grandma's won't snorkel. So we need to try to make everyone happy. I'm really dreading this!

Repeat after me...it will all be worth it on August 13th...it will all be worth it on August 13th..... :goodvibes
