August 12, 2012 5 day Canada from NY

I wasn't planning on booking a second cruise, LOL but when they announced the NY cruises and I wouldn't have to fly...I had to do it. I only wish I could have booked this on board last year.

Dear August 12th Cruisers,
I'm sorry to say that we had to change our cruise dates to an earlier date (June 2012). It was a hard decision and a lot of my "issues" with the change were that I felt bonded to the group going on the 12th. So I'm sayin' bye for now, and I hereby promise to write you guys a trip report so that I'll be part of the August cruise still!
Keep the thread blossoming, and do a rip roaring FE!

Just stumbled across this thread - we've been booked on this for a few months, as soon as we heard news of the NYC port (we're in CT). This will be me, DH, DD (will be 7) and DS (will be 4). It'll mark DH's and my 4th DCL (one more till GOLD) and the kids' third! My dad and his girlfriend also booked, though Dad isn't much of a Disney fan (boo hiss) so we're working on convincing him he'll have a great time in the adult areas and with my kiddos!

Hi:

We are booked for this cruise. We are New Yorkers (from Manhattan proper) and when we realized how little vacation time we had this summer, we decided that this was the way to go. There are four of us, me, DH and two DDs, 16 and 14. We are so excited to hop in a cab on the 12th and just head over to the terminal!!!!

We are booked as well...have been since they announced Disney was sailing from New York. We are in New Jersey so the idea of jumping in a car and driving to get on the Magic was too hard to pass up. It is me ,DH , DD and my dad on the trip...before this sailing we will b on the maiden voyage of the fantasy..so we are pretty excited for that...we also just booked the Med for 2013 the 12 night going to Venice...

Now that excursions are out has anyone decided which ones they are doing...not quite sure here.

Which 12 night Med cruise with Venice??? We are booked on the July 25th 12 night, and I notice you were on the August 23, 2011 Alaskan cruise. So were we! Very interesting coincidence. Maybe we'll recognize each other on the Canadian cruise?

I think we're leaning toward the clipper ship in NS and the nature park/children's forest in NB. They seem to be the best options for DS5 while still being interesting for us as well.

We are actually on the June 27th sailing..that date just worked out better for my daughters sleep away camp...Very fun about Alaska...we really loved that cruise..we didn't know what to expect..we actually went on that sailing with 3 other DISer families we met in the med in 2010... Did u do any Disney excursions in Alaska. Did your daughters go to the clubs at all?

This cruise will be our 13th cruise (all Disney)....we've done 10 already (including several Caribbeans, two TransAtlantics---one East and one West, a Med cruise and last year's repo from San Francisco and inaugural Alaska)......and we're booked on the April/May Hawaii (our official honeymoon) and we're also doing the Aug. 10th 2-night right before this trip (so we're B2B).

We're from upstate NY (Rochester) and we've always wanted to do a cruise out of New England but won't cruise on a different cruise line...so we were super happy to see these NYC trips!

My kids love the clubs, especially my oldrst DD who will be 10 on the trip, so I'm sure our DDs will get to meet. Our last cruise both my kids spent a lot of time with a couple of the girls they meet at the DIS meet we had at the start of the cruise, they liked going into the clubs and already knowing kids
