I am overplanning myself crazy with our trip in two weeks! Here's my question:
The schedule (of which parks on which days) that I like best for our family is landing us at a couple of the parks on their "worst days" according to a couple of different guides. So do I go with schedule I like for our family or go with the other one that most avoids the crowds, knowing that I will enjoy it more?
What would you do? (and the answer " stop obssessing" is perfectly acceptable!!). I really want some opinions. Thanks!

I thought the same thing when planning our upcoming trip. It was hard because I made all of my ADRs 90 days ago. I just decided to go to the parks based on my ADRs. I did plan around mnsshp (we are not going). Most people who are do not go to mk the day of mnsshp. I am planning on getting to the parks early and leaving for a mid day break. Fortunately this time of year the crowds are lower so we (hopefully) won't have too much to deal with. So from one over planner to another stop obsessing. Have fun.

I have the same question, for those of you who just got back and went to a park on a non-best day how did it go??? We leave next week and I'd like to tweak my parks if possible. Thanks!!! :earsboy:

jpolak-it's good to know I'm not the only one! Does anyone else have an opinion about going on days that are not "recommended"?

When we went at the end of August, and incredible slow time, we did go to Epcot on a day not reccomended by one guide, Tour Guide Mike. (For TGM folk it was a red light day) We didn't have a choice on not going to Epcot that day unfortunately. We did fine using the TGM info to get around and avoid lines but I was amazed at the crowds that day. For example the other days we were at Epcot there was never a line, and I mean a total walk on, for Spaceship Earth. On that day it was a 20 minute wait. Fortunately we didn't need to ride it then.

So to answer your question I would say you should definitely plan on more lines and crowds going on a non reccomended day. As for your tolerance level that is another story. I know for us by using Tour Guide Mikes touring information and only going on "green light" days except as noted above we only waited in two lines over 5 minutes and those were for RnR (22 Minutes) and Soarin (8 Minutes) both with Fast Passes. (Yes, our longest waits were with Fastpasses, don't get me started on how RnR handles FP :crazy2: ) 90% or more were under 2 minutes and yes, I did time it. (Geek!)

So for us we got spoiled. For other people waiting in 10 - 15 minute lines during a slow time doesn't bother them and they don't want to adjust thier schedules. It all depends upon your tolerance level for waits and what you are used to. Also since you are with other people some have suggested that lines are good time to get to know others. :rotfl2:

Edited to add: I would also avoid any Spectro Nights unless you want to see it. Yes the lines at the rides are less but even during a drop dead slow time MK was a zoo. Lots of rude folk. I can not imaging going to see Spectro during a peak time.

Good luck with your trip.
