Aug. 5th, 2006 - Eastern Magic!!!

We go to the Flower Power concerts at Epcot each Spring.
They have lots of oldie groups there.
The Turtles, The Grassroots, Paul Revere and the Raiders,Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Guess Who, The Beaver Brown band, Peter Noone and Herman Hermits, Davy Jones, and much more.
But they have never had Dion or Air Supply. Wish they would!!
When we lived in Oregon we saw Johnny Rivers and Sha Na Na.
My DH has seen Rod Stewart, but I had to work.

Since you have passes I'm sure you have seen lots of great performers.
We like a big variety of music and artists.

But Dion is a big favorite!!!!

Good morning! 2 more days and we leave!!!! How am I ever going to get through work today. :confused3 :rotfl2:

Have anyone of you guys done the internet package while on board? I need to email DS while we are gone and I am not for sure exactly what the costs are of emailing while cruising. I read some info in the Passporter but that info is as clear as mud to me. Any help? :confused3

I am too getting excited. I am bummed because DH said we couldn't go see the MK because we were just there in April. I guess I will survive. We will arrive to late on Friday to even go to DTD. Another bummer.

Mary,
sorry you wont be making it to MK :sad2: this time, but the main thing is you are going on the cruise!!! :cloud9: And it's almost here :woohoo:

This is the final countdown for us. The last week :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Time to :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Marcy,
you'll make it though the day :thumbsup2 , then you will be one day closer!!

See everyone soon,

Kathy

Well, Monday is Rob's day off, so we got lots done today. All the clothes washed and started the packing. I also found a bunch of summer shirts that I had stashed in my closet from when I was preg and couldn't wear them. I also found another dress I had for semi-formal night. Woohoo. Hhhhmmm...maybe I should dig through my closet more often.

I'm nervous for one of my listings. I've sold through 4 pretty quickly and only have 1 left. I usually only like to have about 5 at a time. Anyhow the last one, the people are building a house, and the pressure is on to get it sold. An agent from where they are building who referred them to me called and said they want a new agent because it hasn't sold yet. (it's only been 52 days) Our market is SLOW! Anyhow, we just dropped the price last week which usually generates some business, it's been in the paper, HOMES mag, etc. So I am doing all I can, but they are stressing. I talked them into holding on for a little longer. I told them when I was listing it in June that I was going on vacation, but I'm sure they forgot. They will freak when they find out. I was waiting for the storm to pass. I have a very competent agent filling in for me. Who knows, they may be happy to have someone else for a week. I think they were just venting to the other agent because they held off in selling for so long. They also turned down 3 showings for various reasons, so I think they are more mad at themselves. So I may get the axe tomorrow when I call. I was hoping I'd get some showings between now and then. Grrrr. Just what I need to worry about. I'm sure you are very familiar w/ this AZRealtor. Sorry everyone...I just needed to vent to someone.

Tomorrow is supposed to be the hottest day of the year so far. 95 degrees. There is a weather warning on right now for our county for flash flooding. The sun is completely out, and it's thundering like crazy. We may have cooler weather in FL.

Gotta finish folding and packing.

Well, our friends that are going with us just got here yesterday. :teeth: I can't believe that it's been almost three years since we've seen them. We're all trying to think about what to wear for pirate night since some of us want to dress up and some of us don't, my dad of course. Oh well maybe we'll come to a mutual agreement of some kind maybe a tropical shirt or something.
And we leave in 3 days :cool1: I'm so excited!!

Anyway, hope everyone is having a great day.

Tarabra - I know exactly what you are talking about. There is good & bad with this business. Though had it not been for one of my very ridiculously demanding clients we may not have afforded this trip. Hopefully, we can meet up & discuss our markets & careers. Of course, my favorite thing to do is to talk Real Estate. But I do not want to bore anyone.

:Pinkbounc We leave Wednesday!! Just finishing the packing today. :hourglass Went to costco & brought another memory card for my camera.
Off to the Poly --- :stitch: I can not wait to see the girls reactions.

wishing everyone a safe trip - stay healthy.

Stephanie,

Maybe your dad can just wear a black pirate t-shirt. They seem to have them everywhere now. I don't think my DH is wearing anything special. I'm not sure if I even am. Just packed a little a few minutes ago. Getting more and more excited.

Good morning everybody, this will be a long day today and half day tomorrow for me at work, want to get to Florida, 1 more night at home to get everything ready. Our flight leaves at 9:20pm on Wednesday, will be spending the first night at the Hyatt at MCO, then off to the Royal Crowne Plaza. We are doing a dinner show on Thursday night and Blizzard Beach on Friday.

I am not one to panic, sailed the day after Charley, but a trpical storm named Chris is coming straight towards Florida. It looked like the time frame now would allow us to leave Port and probably sail around, but we might be in for some bad seas. Don't care where we go, but really don't want a shortened cruise. Also there are 2 more disturbances off the coast of Africa which could develope. Hopefully we will have a norrmal cruise everyone just needs to keep a heads up, speed and path could change. Not worried about safety, I will leave that to DCL.

Howdy,
I was watching the storm too. :sad2:
Of course since I live in Florida, it is about all they are talking about today.
I know DCL will route around it ok, no worries there, but sometimes they have changed from port canaveral to port everglades, so I would advise everyone to keep alert about this storm, check DCL's we site becasue they will post any changes on the first page, or at least last time they did.
If in doubt call DCL the morning you are leaving for the port to double check.
Those using DCL transportation wont have any worries, they will notifiy you if anything changes and they will get you where you need to be in time. :thumbsup2
The rest of us need to be very alert to the storms progress.

well we have managed to keep our mouths shut so far :rolleyes1 and it is still a surprise to the grandkids. With my mouth that is a miracle. :wizard:
I only have our last minute items to pack the last morning and I am ready.

It sounds like everyone is about ready too. For those of you coming early to do the parks, bring the sunblock!! It is 95 today but with the heat index it will be 105+ :sunny: most of the week. Arrive early where ever you go, especially the waterparks because they will max out by 11:00a.m. with that kind of heat.

Have a safe trip everyone and I iwll be looking for all of you in the Pomenade lounge. I will be easy to find, just look for my daughter, the lady with the purple hair!!! :rotfl2: I'll be close by.
Kathy

Thanks for the heads up on the weather. Here in Kansas City all they are talking about is the heat. :sunny: We are expected to hit 105 with a heat index of 110-115. Oh well, god bless AC! :thumbsup2

I hope the weather holds out for us. We fly in to MCO on Friday around 11pm. I hope the storms won't delay us too much on the way in. I guess if they do they do, not much we can do about mother nature.

Well I am off to do a bit of ironing and laundry, YUK! :laundy:

Mary,
I will post tonight or tomarrow if they have any changes in the storm to report.
Last night they wernt too worried about it coming to Florida, at least not for several days, but it is headed for St. Maartin, so who knows, we may have different ports of call than we were suppose to have. I am ok with that as long as I am on the ship!!!
Kathy

Oohh...maybe we could do a Southern Carib. cruise!! That would be cool. I'm over the Western ports. I'd like something different. It figures!!! Our day at WDW on Friday is probably a no-go. Then again, it's only Tues. so we could be safe.

Still packing. I think I'm almost done though w/ me. I need to pack for Ava now. Shouldn't be too tough. I have most of her stuff out and ready. My mom bought her a little Mickey bank for us to give her on the cruise, and I forgot about it, and she found it. She was so excited! I said, "AVA??" and she got this real serious look on her face like uh-oh. Then I realized that it wasn't her fault she found it and got excited for her. She's been kissing it all day. She even tried to put lotion on its hand! So funny. She's napping so I'm going to hide it again. We also bought her a cute Mickey book to take on the plane. I'm sure we'll be buying even more stuff there, but maybe not quite as much if we surprise her w/ this other "cheaper" stuff.

I am sure our cruise will be fun no matter what happens with the weather. I have my bonine ready. :rotfl2: My MIL's bday is soon and my DH asked her today what she wanted. She said a family portrait on the ship. So, the pressure is on for us to take a good picture. :goodvibes I am getting so excited. I am off now to get mine and DD's pedicures. We leave tomorrow afternoon for Florida. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone,

I hope everybody is doing well. I just can't wait!!! I can't believe
I'm getting to go. This week is passing so slow. We don't leave
till lunch time on Friday to head for the airport in Nashville. It
takes about 2 1/2 hours to get there. Look out "The hillbillies
are headed for the Magic" I will be wearing shoes. I get so
tickled when I meet someone from another area of the U.S.,
several people really think we don't wear shoes. lol Got a call
from our son's cardiologist yesterday, they think he needs a
cardiac catherization. He is not in any danger so the doctor
said "have a great time on your cruise." My sister is an RN and
she will keep an eye on Steven. I'm a respiratory therapist that
travels and does home care. I'm ready for a break. I'm on call
24 hour a day 7days a week. I love people, but I also love having
time with my family. I've got a good deal of packing done but
still have a few things left to pack. Please keep me posted about
this weather thing. I never get to see any news here lately.
I'm running like a chicken with my head cut off. Hope
everyone gets there safely and we all get to meet each other.

God Bless ya,
Dianna

Hi everyone,
just wanted to say sometimes when the storms come through Florida, the lines at DCL are so busy it is impossible to check on changes. A couple of times the ship has had to go to Jacksonville or fort lauderdale instead of port canaveral.
So, If you have internet access and the storm does come our way go to DCL's web site and look on the front page and it will give you an update.
Now for those of you coming at the last minute or no internet access, If you cant reach DCL I would be happy to give you my phone number to call and I will let you know if we have heard any changes at all. My DH has a cell phone that is also a radio and has a PIN, which means even if satelite towers are out, he will still get phone calls on that number because it works off satelites only. Since we live here it is pretty easy for us to keep up on all the latest information with DCL.
Just PM me and let me know if you want our numbers just in case you cant reach DCL.

Cant wait til saturday, :woohoo:

mom x4,grandma x4

Markey, if you want our cell pin # let me know, just in case the regular phone service is interrupted. I am happy to help if needed.

Hi Dianna It is nice to know there are other medical people on our cruise. I'm Sue and I'm a CRNA and work for an out patient clinic. My DH is Rick and he is also a respiratory therapist. He work in the hospital in a level 1 trauma center. His main area of work is with the new traumas, sicu patients and the fresh open hearts. Your son will still be in our paryers.

There is an update on the DCL site now. It says at this time they don't see any changes to our cruise but they are monitoring it. I think we will be okay even though we aren't bringing our laptop. We are traveling with Disney to the port so they should know where to bring us. I will ask at the DCL desk at our hotel too.

heyy everyone!

my names Melissa and i'm on my mother and fathers ... or shall i say DF and DM 's sign on name...

my biggest fear is that i won't meet friends while on our cruise! I will be turning 15 August 13 and my parents ... being so thoughtful( note the sarcasim) will be having the characters sing to me ... i figured i would love to have some new disney friends to laugh about it with ... im very outgoing and would LOVE too meet anyone!! ... my family will be at the meeting mentioned ... replies as soon as possible will be fabulous...

Well good news and bad news. The listing I was griping about the other day bailed on me. Now I don't have to worry about it on the cruise. I am FURIOUS!! I even spoke to the seller today for about a half hour filling him in on our vacation. He never said a word about them being unhappy. Then the referring agent called me and said they found someone else. She talked to them on Sunday so she didn't even know I talked to my guy today. I did MORE than I do for most listings just because of their urgency to sell. I know this referring agent egged them on because the people were always nice as can be. Their market is SO different than it is here. Grrrr! I should sue everyone for $12,000!!! I am trying to get reimbursed for my advertising expenses, but I should also get reimbursed for the lost commission.

O.k. I'm done complaining. I really and truly feel like a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders. Let's pray for good weather.
