Aug. 5th, 2006 - Eastern Magic!!!

YEAH!!! Artie 137, :thumbsup2
now 3 have them, well actually 4. Our daughters came to our house too, so campcoach has hers too. we had them come to our house so the grandkids wouldnt see them and spoil the surprise.

Hopefully today a few more will get theirs too!! :woohoo:

well I am off to the post office this morning
to mail a set of mickey hands to another dis board member for her cruise.
she wanted some to give to the grandkids for the cruise and they wern't going to WDW before the cruise to get them. So I am mailing her some. Her cruise is a year away, so she is a real early planner.

I still need some clothes and time is running out. I gotta get busy with this.

Have a great day everyone, hope to hear tonight from more of you who have got your Docs today!! :surfweb:

Kathy

We got our docs yest. too. They were waiting in the door. Oddly enough, not as exciting as in the past. I think it was because I knew they were coming. I hadn't discovered the DISboards before our last cruises.

We took in the heat yest. on my bro-in-law's boat, and Ava swam in the lake for the first time. She didn't want to get out, so she will absolutely love Castaway Cay. I told Rob to plan on spending the whole day at Saratoga Springs by the pool on Thurs. (08-03) We get in at 9:30 am. After a 5:45 a.m flight. Which means we have to be at the airport around 4:45! Ick! Fortunately it is only 15 minutes from home. Ava hopefully will sleep on the plane. Rob usually can fall asleep too, but I can't. Not even on a redeye from LA.

It's another gorgeous day, so I might take Ava back to the lake. We were floating w/ lifejackets in 22 ft. water yest., so maybe I'll take her to the beach today. She's napping now. Recharging those Energizer Bunny Batteries!! :yay: :yay: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Yay Tara you got your docs!!! We are doing the red eye to Orlando on Wed Aug 2nd. We probably won't get to WDW until 1 a.m. But, I just didn't want to take the next morning early flight like last time. The airport is 2 hours from my house. That's why we get the limo so we don't have to leave our car at the airport. I made dinner Ressies for Thursday night but nothing during the day. I do want to head over to DTD but then maybe swim some too. I'll probably have a drink by the pool. :cloud9: I'm ready for some tropical drinks.

We got our docs today...super exciting since this is our first cruise ever. :Pinkbounc (#5139 is our cabin)

One thing left to buy, but it's a doozy. I'm using the cruise as an excuse to make my husband upgrade his 1980's style black suit. :smooth: Fun for me...but torture for him.

See you all soon.

Leslie

:sad2: Sad in Ohio. No Doc's yet, boo-hoo. In ohio it's easy to work on your tan, the temp has been in the 90"s and lot's of sun :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: . Did the small waterpark an hour north of here on Sunday. Getting too excited. Soon we will be all crusising. :confused3 Does my husband need a sport coat for semi-formal night on Thursday? Later Sue

My Dh's plan is, coat & tie for formal, just coat for Palo, and just the button up dress shirt for semi-formal, all with dress pants. Then docker type pants the other nights and polo's or hawaiian type shirts.

Good morning everyone,

Well what a surprise about the new carnival ship tilting like it did. I am so grateful nobody was thrown overboard. That could of happened so easily as much as it tilted. I guess those people had aguardian angel looking after them. I cant imagine how terrifying that would of been.

But I am not nervous about our cruise. Sometimes freak things can happen especially with a new ship.

I hope to get out to finally look for some clothing. I fit gets too hot this morning I wont go, but hopefully it will hold off for awhile today. I want to be at the store by 9 when it opens. But I still have alot to do before i can go.

hope everyone has a good day today. I'm sure more of you will get your Docs today!! let us know if you do!! We like to celebrate with you, we are a family here :grouphug: celebrating with each other.

Kathy

I hope I get docs today!!! 2 weeks from today I will be on a plane for Orlando. It's getting close! I have been so sad about the injured on the cruise ship that listed. I hope the little girl makes it okay.

Actually it is a Princess Ship, Carnival owns the Line but the ships sail under the Princess name. I heard that the little girl is going to be ok. That is some scary stuff, we were on the Crnival Glory in December and the ships are really getting tall, guess it doesn't take much of an error for problems to happen. Actually we are booked for Princess this coming December, maybe the price will drop. Sure hope our docs come today.

:sad2: I keep rushing home from work checking the mailbox for docs or that lil sticky on the door from UPS. Nada. My nerves can't handle much more. 18 more days . . . that's, like, AROUND THE CORNER! Would I be a lil to anxious if I placed a kind call to DCL today, and asked?

We are so amped up and excited! There are no words. And did I mention that this trip is a COMPLETE surprise to my DS? He has no idea. All he knows is that we are going on a plane to someplace (he loves plane rides).

Oh -- and I did forget to say. My name is Stephani.

So -- I'm trying to figure out what to wear to the dinners. For the formal dinner, I'm wearing a cocktail dress and my son's grandmother (Thekla) is wearing a gown. For the semi-formal, I'll have on another dress and I believe she's going to wear a suit. I have to go pick up some dress clothes for my son. Would a suit be fine for him for the formal dinner and for the semi-formal, slacks and a button down shirt? What about dinner for the other nights? What is NOT allowed? I've already started pulling my luggage out and compiling my lists.

I am beginning to worry a little bit about my shih tzu, Verdell. She's almost 8 months old, weighs 5.5 lbs and is definitely my "daughter". Spoiled rotten lil diva, she is. :lovestruc She's never been away from me more than a night. And she is VERY attached. I was going to board her, but knew that she wouldn't do well, so a friend of mine agreed to take her in while we are gone.

I'm so struggling. Did I mention that I'm also a student working on my BA in Humanities with a minor in English? Yeah - tons on my plate. This single mother has her hands FULL! I'm working on a mid-term this week and I have research to do for my term paper that is due, check this out, when we are in St. Martin. LOL!!! So I have to turn it in a week early. So, I'm sitting here sucking up Starbucks because of little sleep last night, working on an telecommunications agreement that I half know anything about and just waiting for docs . . . :surfweb:

TTYL!

No docs here either  Hopefully they will be here in the next few days.

Trying to beat the heat today. It is suppose to get to 105 today with a heat index of 115 (or so the weatherman says.) I think I will spend most of it inside.

I am too longing for a nice tropical drink. :drinking1

Semi-Formal night is Thursday. That is the night the serve Lobster. I can't wait to eat it. Yummm

Stephani, did you use a TA? I did, I wonder if DCL would know when I get mine. My TA told me they come directly to me from DCL.

No - didn't use a TA. Went straight there the DCL website. Rookie over here, you know. I'd call DCL and give them your confirmation number, they should be able to tell you something.

Hmmm - for next time, is it cheaper to go through a TA?

Lobster . . . YUM!!! I'm SUCH a seafood fanatic!

Would someone be so kind as to run down the whole list of what happens on what night? And how do you "choose" your dining rotation?

Oh good, there still is a semi-formal night. I pulled out a black skirt that I usually wear on semi-formal night and it finally fits perfectly. The first time I've tried it on since the baby. Phew!!

Can't remember who mentioned about getting DH a new suit to replace his 80's suit, but we recently replaced DH's blue suit from the early 90's!! JCPenney's has really nice suits for close to $100. He might want to try there. Hey at least your DH still fits into his 80's suit!!

Kathy, it sounds like you do waaaayyy too much cleaning! :goodvibes :confused3 Always talking about your chores and mopping and sweeping!!! lol! I guess w/ a 20mos DD, my biggest problem is keeping up w/ the toys and books all over the place and all my real estate junk laying all over. We get so much junk mail that I just HAVE to save because it might be something important someday!!! :smooth: My DH is also a collector of DVD's, books, magazines, cd's. His stuff takes up the whole basement, and a whole bedroom. Needless to say, lots of clutter.

Hope you guys get your docs today! I wouldn't worry.

Stephani, people have posted a whole schedule in the past of events on the ship. I may look for that tonight. Until then.

Saturday - Casual
Sunday - Formal
Monday - Casual
Tuesday - Pirate's night
Wednesday - Casual
Thursday - Semi-Formal and Lobster
Friday - Casual

DH stopped at travel agent today and she said our documents may not be in for another week. BUMMER. So we can only wait and wait and wait. Other than that my DH will be happy to hear about the lobster, I can't eat fish due to seafood allergy so at least he will start out with two, his and mine. Later Sue

No docs again today, maybe I will call Dana tomorrow and ask if she knows when we can expect them. I know it's not a completely full ship because rooms can still be booked and it is still open for kids. Know any upgrade is truly impossible this year, never had one before either, because we have adjoining cabins booked.
