~Aug 2013~ Sew what~We've gotta find a way back-Part II- TR link posted - 8/31

I knew that too Sandra - I had forgotten about that. I hope you had an amazing birthday... Did you do anything fun?

I did have a fun birthday weekend. On Saturday we went to another local Cedair Faire Park (Gilroy Gardens). They have a lot more rides geared towards the little kids so there isn't much they can't do. It was a fun hot day!! Then Sunday I woke up wanting Bubba Gump's so we drove into SF and had that for lunch. Didn't spend much time in the city so we came home and had a nice relaxing afternoon at home.

Glad you guys had a lot of fun!! Love the cup!

Hmm...I HAVE to ask..... Are those....Grand Puppies?

Nini

Nope... My neighbors would kill me if they were... They are cute little pure bred labs. :thumbsup2

Glad you had a great birthday. Love the menu! I have a friend whose birthday is the same as yours as well as our son in law. Popular date!

I love the date of my birthday... It's right in the middle of the year - and usually the weather is nice... :rolleyes1

Love the puppy pictures! They are so very cute and cuddly. I miss having a pet, but it just isn't feasible any more with our constant trips to visit our kids. But our neighbors all share their dogs, so we do get a bit of our "fix" satisfied.

Glad you get your pet fix - that is awful nice of your neighbors to share... We often shared Rufus with everyone... MM - not so much, he is still in his puppy stages and not many people want to spend very long with him. :rolleyes1 LOL

So glad you had a great time with the girls. Sorry your meal at Bahama Mamas was not great. Sounds like you three had a fun-filled time. I really like the tumbler you bought. I guess you'll be locked in your sewing room now for quite a while. Sometimes it's so hard to get back into the swing of things. Hope you have a very productive day.

Your nephew is ADORABLE!!!!!!

The meal wasn't that great - you are right, but the friendships more than made up for it. We did have an amazing time!

Thank you... I just wanna hold him...

Love the cup! I want one-

Me too! You can find them on www.tervis.com According to the girl at the Tervis store - the Evil Queen one is being discontinued - it was even marked down... So, I recommend ordering while you can.

Kat update - she's still at Travis AFB, not sure when she will be flying out, maybe tomorrow or Wednesday, but maybe not until Thursday. Today she is scheduled for speech therapy, pt and a swallow test. I think if she passes the swallow test, they will take out the feeding tube. My brother posts that she is making progress every day and she has a good attitude, which I've always thought is 90% of recovery.

So happy to hear this... I sure hope she passes those tests and she can continue progressing forward. Thank you so much for keeping me updated.

Not sure this meet & greet is going to be possible. But, we will see. If not that day perhaps another.

I know, I know - my DisMeets are all goofed up... They are still set up as they were when I initially made my mini-planner pages... I will need to go through them all again and figure out when I am meeting everyone. I know that Kathy's dates are off too.

August dessert party is open!!!

That puppy is soooo cute!!!!

And I love that villans tumbler!!

Thanks!!! I know they are just so adorable!!! I love my tumbler too... You can get them at www.tervis.com - but the villians one is being discontinued... So I would get it while you can if you want it. :) Now, I am just hoping they come out with a Monster's Inc one. :rolleyes1

That sounds wonderful Sandra! I love Bubba Gump - So does Mo - you should ask her to post her sweatshirt that she bought this weekend. So happy you had a wonderful birthday!

Hi D, i'm late to the party, but I made it!
Those puppies are gorgeous

No one is ever late... So glad to have you here!

**********************************************************

I made a TON of progress in my sewing room yesterday... So very pleased with myself! I managed to cut out and quilt my custom order bag for the week. I also finished one of my auction bags and the accessories that went with it (I honestly didn't have much left to do...) - then I cut out and prepped my next (and final) big auction bag... I will be so happy to have them all done!

And then, for the millionth time... I switched my day off with my Epcot day... I've gone back and forth on this, and in the end, I decided to switch it back to the way it originally was... Which means I have to go back and re-do those calendar pages AGAIN... :scared: One of these days, I will stop changing my mind so much. I have never ever done this much switching around - usually I book, and then I plan out my days, make my ADRs and I am done... But with TP changing their best days so far into the 180, it really threw our whole trip for a loop... Do I dare post the updated calendar page? :scratchin Or will I just jynx it?

Meh....

Photobucketaugustalternatetripcopy-3.jpg

I am a bit nervous that our only official day off is at the beginning of our trip, but I keep hearing that water park days are usually over quickly, so hopefully we will be able to go back to our resort a little early that day and relax for the remainder of the day...

In other trip related news... Suzi was able to secure our Dessert Party ADRs yesterday... So, Suzi, Bradey, Bradey's cousin Sara(h), and the girls and I wll be going to the dessert party together... Not only that, but Erin (nannye) and little V are going that night, as well... WHOOT!!!! It should prove to be a HUGE day for all of us! Super excited about it - we have never been...

Oh, and I finally remembered to open my birthday cards last night... I received some nice pixie dust from family members... So, I plan to purchase a couple of Disney GCs with the $$ and also, maybe my new Orthaheel flip flops that I've been drooling over... :thumbsup2

I hope you all have a wonderful day... Sending out prayers to all who need them. :grouphug:

D~

YAY!!!! you have your dessert party!!! I am so happy for you guys!!! Suzi was really on top of that! cuz ya know she's SUPA SMAAT.

going to finish my editing on photos before i do a report on our EPIC weekend.

Hi D - Love your bags!!!

How much fun are you going to have at the Dessert Party , TONS !!! We loved it!! here a few pics for you to drool over!

Oh WOW...those pics of the dessert party...pardon me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard!! I've never gone since we are always stuffed from the dining plan and DH wouldn't do it justice anyhow since one or two bites is enough for him. :sad2:

D~ I'm glad you got so much done in your sewing room and that you had a nice birthday. We are having a garage sale (neighborhood wide) on the 13th, 14th and 15th, so I can finally get the boxes out of the 3rd bay of our garage and the basement! The money we make will go toward vacation fund. :thumbsup2

Have a great day!:cheer2:

D, I am woefully behind and I know I won't get here before I leave for Disney on Thursday (I got all behind with being in Dubuque for the bridal shower, bachlorette party, etc. and then caught a bacterial infection and after work last night I went to bed and will do so again tonight.

First, congrats on your new nephew...he is adorable.

Love the DIS meet photos.

And what a fun surrpise for your birthday.

Goodness Gracious~ how did I fall so far behind??? I was still subbed to Part I and not getting notifications any longer...DOH!

Your trip with the girls looks like so much fun! I love that they all conspired to throw a big birthday bash for you....and you helped cook for it and had no idea! :rotfl2:

Your trip is coming up so quickly! Cannot wait to read another D~ TR!!!! :cool1:

I am also VERY excited about yet another piece of information I am holding onto right now... :rolleyes1 :yay: :dance3:

I am drooling over those dessert pictures too! Charlie and I want to attend one this time around since we've never been. I'm planning it for the day we do our Tusker House breakfast, with a late lunch, so we will have room for all of those yummy treats!.

I shared my brothers status update on my fb page - basically Kat is progressing well, passed the swallow test and they are going to wean her off the feeding tube. Still no confirmation on when she will be leaving CA. Apparently that decision is being made elsewhere....

OH GREAT.... now you have me wanting to do the MK dessert party!!!
not sure HOW that is going to happen.
Love your new calendar. I think we are supposed to meet on the 21st. :) quick meet & greet. :rotfl2: no autographs please...only pictures.

Now, to work on which day to meet Ruthie. :cool2:

Wow, those desserts look yummy! I think one of these days we'll have to skip dinner and just go to the dessert party! I would so drive down there and meet you guys for the party, but that is hands down the busiest week of the year at work for me :guilty: I work at an elementary school and the kids come back on August 20.

I can't contain my excitement... Joshs Brother's wife just had their gorgeous baby boy in the Netherlands... They named him Thomas Dakota, born at 1:10am on June 2nd... Mom and baby are healthy.

And perhaps the best part.... My very first nephew shares his birthday with his Aunt D~!

I could not be happier for them.... He is just so precious!

D~

:goodvibes Congrats on being an Auntie.... he is adorable

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ahhh... Bob Marley and steel drums.... Doesn't get much better than that.

D~

:scratchin Don't let her fool you she's really a Downeaster :rotfl:

D-Thomas is perfect!!!

Our backup name for Joe was Thomas. I always wanted Joe but DH wasn't keen on naming him after my living brother but he was all Joe when he was born. My brother Joe was thrilled! So happy now that we named him Joe. My brother Joe's birthday was 6/2. I still miss him so.:sad1:

I'm so impressed by all you are able to accomplish! I need to start working on some things for August. I had such a rough week at work last week that I just needed to chill over the weekend. This week isn't much better but I'm hoping I'll be able to figure out how to use my sewing as a diversion to work stresses instead of doing virtually nothing.

Wow! You all were chatty yesterday!

YAY!!!! you have your dessert party!!! I am so happy for you guys!!! Suzi was really on top of that! cuz ya know she's SUPA SMAAT.

going to finish my editing on photos before i do a report on our EPIC weekend.

I cannot wait until you post photos - I've been waiting anxiously to see them! I need a new profile pic on FB. :thumbsup2

Hi! Thank you and welcome! :lovestruc

Soooo... Tell me what those cream puff looking rolls of deliciousness are??? I am pretty sure I could eat 12 of everything there! I was only sad because I did not see anything that resembled a Napoleon... I think I will be eating lots of those. LOL

Oh WOW...those pics of the dessert party...pardon me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard!! I've never gone since we are always stuffed from the dining plan and DH wouldn't do it justice anyhow since one or two bites is enough for him.

Have a great day!

Thanks Lois! Yay for garage sales to pay for vacations... Currently - I detest doing garage sales... It's just so much work. So, I just give everything to BFF she does the garage sale and keeps the profits from my stuff (unless it's something major) - then it's out of my house. :thumbsup2 I hope your garage sale is a success!

D, I am woefully behind and I know I won't get here before I leave for Disney on Thursday (I got all behind with being in Dubuque for the bridal shower, bachlorette party, etc. and then caught a bacterial infection and after work last night I went to bed and will do so again tonight.

Love the DIS meet photos.

And what a fun surrpise for your birthday.

No worries Kathy, I know you have been so busy. I am very happy to see that you've checked in here on The Dis though before you leave... I can't believe how much you have going on over the next couple of weeks! Such and exciting time for all of you! I cannot wait to hear all about it!

Goodness Gracious~ how did I fall so far behind??? I was still subbed to Part I and not getting notifications any longer...DOH!

Your trip with the girls looks like so much fun! I love that they all conspired to throw a big birthday bash for you....and you helped cook for it and had no idea!

LOL - and perhaps the best part... Even Suzi and Mo were clued in on it... V had stolen their #s out of my phone and texted them from her Ipod to let them know that there was going to be a party... So, I was totally clueless. :rotfl2:

Your trip is coming up so quickly! Cannot wait to read another D~ TR!!!!

I am also VERY excited about yet another piece of information I am holding onto right now...

Yay!!!! I am excited too!

So glad to hear that Kat is progressing... Decision being made elsewhere? Isn't that weird?

Yep. That's how we roll here in the islands.
:rotfl2: Ahhh... Bob Marley and steel drums.... Doesn't get much better than that.

YEAH Mon... Dont worry be happy

You guys crack me up!

OH GREAT.... now you have me wanting to do the MK dessert party!!!
not sure HOW that is going to happen.
Love your new calendar. I think we are supposed to meet on the 21st. quick meet & greet. no autographs please...only pictures.

Yes, I have you down for the 21st for sure... Not sure how that other day got in there? Maybe we talked about it at one point?

Wow, those desserts look yummy! I think one of these days we'll have to skip dinner and just go to the dessert party! I would so drive down there and meet you guys for the party, but that is hands down the busiest week of the year at work for me I work at an elementary school and the kids come back on August 20.

Awww, bummer... I would have loved to have met you - finally!!! Well, if there is any way you can make it work - even over the weekend - let me know! I would love to meet you!

:goodvibes Congrats on being an Auntie.... he is adorable
Don't let her fool you she's really a Downeaster

Thanks... I have not heard the term "Downeaster" before... You may have to enlighten me?

D-Thomas is perfect!!!
Our backup name for Joe was Thomas. I always wanted Joe but DH wasn't keen on naming him after my living brother but he was all Joe when he was born. My brother Joe was thrilled! So happy now that we named him Joe. My brother Joe's birthday was 6/2. I still miss him so.

Awww... That is such a sweet story...

It seems that once I get up there to work, I can't make myself leave... But other days - I can't get out of my sewing room fast enough... LOL The problem is that I have soooo many things to get done for our trip, and I know that once I finish this last bag set, I am free to work on our trip stuff in my spare time. :woohoo: And thanks to Jennifer (at princess pie bowtique) - she has me designing bags off of her headbands and I have her designing headbands off of my bags for our trip... It's getting a little out of hand - but rediculously FUN!

**********************************************************

I made lots of progress in my sewing room yesterday on my custom order. Then in the afternoon I switched to my final big auction bag... I was trying to figure something out in my head - and I think I got it yesterday - so that makes me more pleased about this set. I really hope to finish it by the end of the weekend - that would make me immensely happy!

I've been deep into trip planning for our own trip... Because of my conversations with Jen yesterday - I have sooo many customs ideas, my head is twirling from the excitement of it all, and it also forced me to add an entire extra bag set on to my work load for our trip.... :rolleyes1 If you all saw my list, well... It's kind of crazy - I still dont' know how I am going to get it all done... It would make me immensely happy if I could get started on something this weekend - but I dont' think that will happen?

Ok - better run... I *think* I work at Target today... I haven't been there in 2 weeks, so I haven't seen my schedule, I am just going out on a limb... I will be there in Red and Khaki at the time I normally am, and hope for the best.

Have a fantastic day everyone!

They usually have mini cream puffs...but I think you are looking at the canolis up in that picture. Yum
... Those are delish! But my favorite are the Mango Shooters....yummmo. Can't wait!

OK from what I can remember - there were pudding cups with graham crust, choc and berry mousse, cookies, mango shooters, assorted tart (key lime and fruit ones) choc and PB tart things, choc covered strawberries, double or triple choc mousse, truffle balls which OMG were my FAVE!! -- canoli's, creme brule and an ice cream machine.. might have been more I just can't remember.. LOL
