D~ V has certainly grown up and is a stunning young lady. love her dress and shoes! Hope she had a wonderful time.
That Robins nest is amazing
Thank you - yes she did have a wonderful time...
Yah, MM was standing over there the other day, because if you stand at that corner of our deck - you overlook the next, and momma Robin was not very happy with him.
Oh, D~ your daughter is absolutely beautiful. That natural beauty, seems in & out. Love her dress & her shoes.
Hope you enjoy the wedding, if you go.
I love to see nests with eggs. So nice Josh didn't move them.
Have a great weekend!
Thank you Dee... Yes, we thought for a moment about moving the next -but then we thought better of it, so I guess it will just have to stay there.
V- looks beautiful as always, loved seeing the future baby birds I like the spot momma picked, glad Kat's Dad is going over to Guam to be with T's great neice(I would want to do the same thing) and nice to see Lillian here
If you do go to the wedding have a great time
Thank you... We like her spot too - because we can stand at that corner of the deck and look right into the nest.
D, "V" looks absolutely beautiful...love the dress and the shoes.
Thank you Kathy.
V looks amazing! Hope she had a good time. 8th grade....she must be excited for next year!
The robin's nest is so cute....it almost looks fake. Guess you won't be moving those posts for a while
Thanks Suzi... Yah - she is getting excited for next year - mostly because she finally has some elective classes that she is looking forward to.
Nope - the posts are staying put. Wonder if there will be baby birds in there by the time you get here? I am not sure how long it takes Robin eggs to hatch - I better go research.
V looks very grown up. and the shoes are really cute.
Thanks... It's so hard to see her so grown up.
Yup I've worked at the science center for almost 9.5 years now. Moved up from humble beginnings to front line manager. Which is why I get to do fun things like stay until midnight for movies.
That does sound like fun!
Glad to hear the improvements in grandniece's state & continue to shake my head at husbands everywhere. DH's back doesn't go out, but he's got extra long tendons in his knees, meaning they will go whonky on him. Yet he insists on wearing crappy shoes to do yard work. Sigh.
I am the one with knee/feet issues... So I have to be so careful with everything I do. I grew up barefoot - and until about 5 years ago, I was barefoot all the time... It caught up with me, and now I can never be shoeless... Oh well - there are so many worse things out there.
Speaking of DH - he starts working with his dad next week and while the pay will be less than his "real" job was, we hope the stress will be much less. MUCH LESS. And he's picked up a couple of side jobs as well as plans to go through his comics and things to sell. It's making me feel better about our finances.
I pray that this transition goes well for you... I know it must be so hard, I know I was very scared when DH switched jobs a few years ago (when he retired from the National Guard) - but it was a good switch for him, and quite seamless. I pray this goes just as well for you and DH.
V looked beautiful! Beautiful girl ,lovely dress, and grown up shoes!
We had a nest of baby Robins in our yard we've kept watch on for awhile. They left home yesterday! I'm amazed they survived 2 dogs!
Enjoy a wonderful weekend! Ruth
Thanks Ruth!
How are you doing? Is everything going better?
Wowzers! V looks beautiful! I knew she looked like Alli, but in those pics, she REALLY looks like Alli and You!
Thanks Erin... Yes, she is really growing up... I think both of my girls are now taller than I am (though it doesn't take much).
Thank you! I'm just so glad it wasn't a very serious accident!!! I spent 2 hours on the phone with my insurance company yesterday (an hour of that was on hold

!!) But they have been awesome!!! They've helped me get a rental car, get my vehicle into a repair shop and told me the rules on getting my children's car seats replaced. It's not a law (that I understood anyways) but all the insurance companies in California (could be other states too but I don't know) will replace all the car seats in a vehicle if the vehicle has been in an accident. It doesn't matter how bad the damage is to the car. So now I have to go find 3 new car seats!! Right now my insurance company is taking care of all my expenses expect my deductible, part of the rental car (I have $16 a day rental coverage that I pay for) and will reimburse me once I replace our car seats. Which unfortunately won't happen until we return from our cruise next Friday. I'm sure the car seats are fine but why take any chances if they are going to be paid for by insurance.
It sounds like you have a good insurance company... I know that is something I always asked when my girls were little - is if they covered the car seats. It didn't used to be such a prevalent thing... I would get so angry when I was repeatedly given the blank stare, then I tried to explain that car seat companies
required you to replace car seats after they had been in an accident. I am so happy to hear that the laws have changed in some states, because I really feel that is an important law. And yes - definately replace yours!
Glad you were able to get some work done on your applique. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Me too! I will be up there assembling all day...
Thank you!! I hate them too but unfortunately you do have to drive into them every now and then. I did tell insurance about my shoulder problems and they also told me to get it checked out if it continues to bother me. Want to make sure I get everything covered regardless of who is found to be at fault. (Which by looking at the pictures should be him from what numerous people have told me who have had the same situation happen to them. So we shall see!!) I won't know anything until after we return from our cruise on Friday (we leave Monday!!).
Yay for leaving on your cruise... Hopefully everything is settled by the time you get back. It's probably a good thing that you will be gone for a few days.
I thought I'd share our adventure today:
They say bad things come in 3's so I'm really hoping we are done for a very long time!!! First my DH sliced open his hand last week at work (no stitches were need thank goodness!!), then the accident on Thursday and now today Jeremy thought it would be a good idea to mess around on his bed (him and Sarah are in bunk beds and he's the top bunk) and he fell!!!!! He split his ear open!!! With everything going on and with us leaving on Monday I really didn't need the 3 hour Emergency Room visit!!!! He is ok thank goodness!! He ended up with 8 stitches. I couldn't believe how brave he was. When the Dr was stitching him up he never moved but my poor baby did cry. Which I told him was perfectly fine because I probably would be crying too (and I almost did!!!) I had to stay strong for him during the procedure but later after all 3 were in bed I had a good cry. I really needed it. Here's how his ear looked after his stitches. (Before was just really, really bad. You could see the cartilage coming through.)

This one was taken while we were waiting for the Dr to come stitch him up. He wanted one with me. Jeff was at home with James and Sarah.

Awww... Poor Jeremy... He does look awful brave. I know I would have been bawling right along with him - I am such a wuss... I also cannot do any type of blood or wound cleaning - I get eeked out. Hopefully it heals fast and he is back to his old self in no time (if he's anything like my girls - he would have been back to normal when he left the ER).
If I don't see you again - have a great trip!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!
**********************************************************
Well, my auction ended yesterday... I had a couple of last minute bids... Congratulations to Terry.

I had such a hard time sending that bag out, I so badly wanted to keep it for myself... If I had the time, I would totally make myself a similar one, because Jimminy is one of my favorites too. But it went out in yesterday's mail and it's well on it's way to it's new home.
After the auction ended, I went upstairs to finish my applique... Many thanks to Nini and Miss B for helping me figure out the finishing touches I wanted to put on it.
Then I had some lunch and tried to take a little nap... I knew I'd be trying to drive home from the wedding late at night, and I go to bed so early - I often have a hard time driving any time after 7pm.
The girls and I got ready and all dressed up... and we left for the wedding... About 2 miles down the road - we were dying. My air conditioner is still not fixed, and we can't open more than one window just a crack - otherwise my car makes this awful wind thumping noise... which is horrible, it feels like your ears are going to explode. We tried to tough it out, but by the time we were about 15 miles from home, we were all miserable - and we had another 2 hours to go. I made the executive decision to turn around - which Alli was very upset about (she had speant a lot of time getting ready for the wedding...

).
We detoured a little bit to BFF's house, and we decided to go to Applebees for dinner - so Allison's efforts wouldn't be wasted. It was a nice meal, we haven't eaten out at a sit down meal in quite some time - so it was fun. I had some new Mexican dish... Chicken, shrimp, rice, avacado, lime, cilantro... All of my favorites - it was very good.
After dinner, we stopped at the grocery store - Alli needed hamburger buns for a Track BBQ... Poor V had made the mistake of wearing her new formal shoes to the wedding, and by the time we got to the grocery store - she had open blisters on her feet. She didn't want to stay in the car because it was so hot... so we put her in a cart. I was laughing so hard that there were tears going down my face... I even made BFF push her, becuase Allison and I couldn't control our hysterics...
Then, later in the store - BFF had to add "bumpers" to her cart... And I was LOLing again, because as I took the picture, I noticed V's toes sticking out of the cart...
I know... We are huge dorks...
Then girls and I came home - it was later and cooler - and the drive wasn't as awful... Really felt bad that we didn't tough it out and go to the wedding, especially since our ride home would have been fine - but I didn't know that at the time.
When we got home, we watched some TV and went to bed. It was kind of a nice relaxing day. However, my stomach started acting up again from that Mexican meal... This is driving me crazy... There must be some sort of spice they use in Mexican dishes that I am reacting to? BFF thinks it the combo of Lime/cilantro (because Chipotle uses a lot of that too) - but I don't think so, because I use those two things together at home all the time. Maybe it's the avocado? I don't use that at home much? But it's almost the exact same pain that I had with all my gall bladder issues - but it ONLY happens when I eat Mexican. It's so bizarre... I took 2 ibuprofen when we left BFF's house, and I ended up taking 2 Aleve right before bed, because the ibuprofen was only dulling the pain, but it was still there. I think the Aleve worked? I fell asleep almost right away and woke up feeling fine.
Today - I will be in my sewing room all day - working on assembling the bag... I hope to finish it up and work on the wallet applique. I am pretty certain, I won't finish this set until tomorrow moring - but that will be fine, as long as it goes out in tomorrow's mail - I will still be on schedule.
I hope each of you has a marvelous day today.

Thinking of each of you and sending out prayers to those who need them, and those who don't.
D~
