FYI... I had to go through and remove half my smilies. Sigh.
I am going at Christmas, unless you need him before.
I think I want to decorate for Christmas in the next few weeks. I want to put our small tree and Cs tree up this year and couple of my smaller village things out. I haven't wanted to decorate in a few years but I want to this year which is strange.
Thanks D I am so happy to have my power back. Today I am playing catch up but need to find who has groceries since we lost all of our food.
Thanks Chiara! I did contact someone already about grabbing an Eeyore.
We were sitting in the livingroom last night, and MM was playing - as I am wondering, how in the world is my village going to survive the holidays with MM? I might not be able to put it up this year.

Unless I baby gate the entire livingroom for the entire season.

I don't really want to do that though - he doesn't like it as it is, when we close the gate.
So glad you got your power back. But I am so sorry you lost all of your food. Do the stores have much of anything for you to stock up on?
I will be at WDW the week of Thanksgiving and will be doing the luau at the Poly so I could pick it up for you.
Thanks for the offer!!
Where is Marianne idea? Sorry this is just too exciting!
I don't know if this would help, this is what i carry with me on DSLR days. that camera get HEAVY after a while: point and shoot, the DSLR, 2 lens, extra SD cards, hood for lens, batteries, lens covers, tri pod, Cleaner for lens, and soft cloth, of course the shoulder straps (2) just like need two pairs of gym shoes? Same concept! Tripod goes into a locker until fireworks time!
Marianne and I talked about this privately. And thanks for all the info - I sent you a PM.
If any of the others going before me have no luck finding Eeyore, I will be happy to look when we go in early December....just let me know.
I think the Minnie is now my favorite....love it.
Thanks Kathy! I did send someone a message - it looks like I have lots of back ups though.
Minnie is so cute too! I love the little lacy part (can you tell I don't sew, I have no idea what to actually call that material :lmao. I can't wait to see the Pluto one.
I can definitely look for Eeyore when I go in a few weeks. Mom and I are huge shoppers, never saw a gift shop we didn't like, so we will be in every shop in Disney. Just let me know if you get one before we go.
Thanks! That would be eyelet trim.

I appreciate the offer - but I have contacted someone about Eeyore already... However, I know MM would be in his glory if he had one for every day of the week.
Okay, this Minnie is my favorite. For sure! Love that little bit of eyelet trim.
I've been sewing skirts for my DGDs and playing Christmas music all the while. I know it's early, but I started watching Christmas movies while I was sick, and it really put me in the mood. I'm one of those weird ones who loves Christmas music/movies and it doesn't really matter where we are on the calendar!
Sounds like you'll be getting your Eeyore, but if something falls through, we're going on 11/28 and would be happy to pick one up for you.
Thanks Lois! I am the same way - the girls and I usually watch Home Alone in July sometime - we didin't do it this year though. I love Christmas movies and everything about the season... I really got in the mood bad a few weeks ago when I was making my Holiday Cookies bag... I made the mistake of turning on the Christmas music channel on Pandora. It was all over after that.
I would offer...but it looks like you have lots of volunteers already...if they can't find it, let me know and we will check when we go right after Thanksgiving!
Nini
Thanks Nini!! I did get someone to get one for me... I will let you know though.
Looks like I am going before everyone else? Leaving 11/11, I would love to pick it up as we will be going to 'Ohana's one night! You won't even have to pay me as you can just take it off the amount I will owe you for the bag I am going to purchase next week
Monica
Thanks for the offer Monica... But I already asked someone else. I really appreciate it though.
I don't know which of your bags is my favorite!! Minnie is beautiful!
I was in the hospital for several days with severe vertigo and nausea. I came home late yesterday afternoon so that was the best gift of all.
I hope things are calming down in your neighborhood, you've had a long few weeks.
Thanks Ruth. I am so sorry you were in the hospital again - I didn't know. I am glad you went though, because you just never know. I hope you had a good birthday anyways.
Chiara - glad you have your power back and I hope you can get everything back to "normal" soon. How is J doing with the aftermath of Sandy?
Decorating for Christmas early sounds good - you might as well enjoy it for as long as you can
That's why I always put my village up the weekend before Thanksgiving, and keep it up until the end of January... Those darned buildings and accessories are so expensive - I like to feel like I am getting my $$ worth out of them. LOL
D~ seeing how MM deals with Christmas (and a tree) will be interesting.
Tell me about it...
Sign up for Southwest's e-mail notifications and they will let you know when they open up bookings for your time frame. Sometimes they run great sales so it is good to be on their list.
I know I am signed up for them, but I didn't know I could put in my dates and have them more specific. That would be awesome!
Minnie looks great, I love the lace trim!!!! The lining fabric and contrasting bias look perfect. Her expression is so life like, her eyes are so expressive.
Thanks!
I usually bring my DSLR to the parks and on our last trip I made a bag just for this purpose - it was similar to the bag that I had in Charlotte but "shorter". I put lots of slip pockets in it. I mostly carried my cell phone, a small bag that served as my wallet for my CC, money, room key, extra memory card, maybe a battery. I also carry my fairly small video camera to catch those fabulous Disney moments on "film". My video camera is about the size of a small telephoto lens. I also carry a few ponchos (for rain or Splash Mountain) and maps. I am not a great photographer so by the end of the week I usually ditch the DSLR

and I'm down to a small bag with my cell phone and room key. I am totally looking forward to using my original Disboutique lanyard / wallet on the trip with my brother. I figure his wife can be in charge of lugging around her DSLR and I can be in charge of getting fast passes!!!
This is good to know - thanks for taking the time to give me all that info. I think the bag I have planned may be perfect for those who tour like you do.
LOL I am glad to hear you are using your wallet/lanyard. That makes me super happy!! I am glad you get to take a trip with your family - what wonderful memories you all are going to have!
Hope Alli's school community can continue to heal after all of their losses.
Thank you. It seems to be going OK, there was a town meeting the other night, so the parents could address their concerns. I was not able to go, but the local paper did record the entire thing and put it on their website - I am going to try to watch it today.
Alli will be going back to school on Monday - I pray that things are a little more normal around there, and pray that nothing happens between now and then. She has done an amazing job with her homework - I am so impressed. She is all caught up on everything, except her Spanish work - her teacher never got it to the office for me to pick up.

Which is too bad, because that is Alli's favorite class.
Minnie is awesome! I can't wait to see the rest!
Chiara I am so glad you guys have power again. I really don't know what is going on out there other than with my friends which is just sad. I despise TV though.
I am sure you will find it before but we will be there in Feb and I can look for Eeyore. MM is so sweet <3
Thanks Callie... We may need a 3rd Eeyore by then.

I will let you know. LOL
happy to hear Alli is feeling better....hope the school and community can continue healing!
the new Mickey & Minnie bags are very cute!
Chiara, happy you got your power back...my friends in NJ and LI are still powerless but okay, of which I'm very grateful!!
Thank you Lisa.
I just love the lace detail on the front pocket!
I was just looking on
Amazon yesterday for a little Eeyore stuffy to send to a friend that was a little down. They have a bunch of them, but I only saw one "laying down" one. It was a 20" long pile one. Not sure what the "long pile" means, but it looks similar to the one in the pics. I think it was about $30??
Thanks Suzi - I might go look on Amazon - that is a great idea!
That's so funny. My dog has had a duck (beanie buddy) since we got her and I've sewn it up so many times Lost one of the wings a long time ago. It's gotten so yucky that I don't even want to put it in the washing machine anymore, so I bought a brand new one at a flea market (they don't make it anymore) and she won't have a thing to do with it! She still drags out that nasty one. She goes to get it every time she's ready to go to sleep. It's got a hole in it's cheek now and I haven't even tried to fix it.
I'm going to WDW in early Dec. and will be glad to look for Eeyore if you haven't gotten one by then!
I loved your story Stephanie - that's probably what will happen here. The girls have this Pug stuffed animal, with just a few beans in it - but it's little... MM has started carrying that one around too - with those buggy Pug eyes, just makes me ROFL.
I've washed his Eeyore so many times, he is just crusty and gross. LOL The other day, after he had ripped out Eeyore's ear, I had put Eeyore on my counter top in my sewing room, so I could stitch his face back shut, and MM just sat there staring at it and whining... I had no choice but to fix Eeyore right that minute - at least he was dry. LOL
Thanks for the offer to look - I have someone lined up already.
Love the mickey and minni set. I think they are going to help boost your trip fund
I love the idea of a SLR bag!!!!!! I didn't cary my SLR in the parks because I didn't want the bother. I am now totaly regreting that, as my photos with my pointand shoot / ipod totaly suck!
I found I didn't carry much in the park - there was tons of room in my bag. I carried my wallet, cell, point and shoot (but won't need if have SLR), ipod, maps, and little waterbottle. A water bottle could be cliped on the outside so just a few pockets would be great. A place for memory cards and an extra lense would be nice too. I'm sure you will come up with something great!!
Hope you have a great weekend.
Thanks Tracey! And thanks for all the info - I think the bag I have sketched out will be a great park bag... The only part I am worried about is for those people who want to carry a tripod - there won't be room in the bag for that. I hope you have a great weekend too!
Thanks!
Loving all the new bags! I may just have to start collecting them too along with my Pluto stuff.
I'm one of the ones that rarely makes it on the DIS on the weekends. Just too much else to do. And the DIS is such a good distraction at work. (Didn't there used to be a "guilty" smiley? Oh well, this one will have to do).
Thanks! LOL So, that's it - you all peruse my PTR while you are at work.
I love them all, can't wait to see the next two since they are your favorites! I will be away from home tomorrow on a day trip, so I will just have to take my iPad because I have no patience and can't wait till I get home
Have you seen the little gates to put around Christmas trees to keep toddlers out? You may have to invest in one of those
Monica
Thanks Monica - I am getting ready to post pictures shortly.
love love the minnie bag and the donald bag. Can't wait to see what else you have planned.
LOL Thanks Chiara!
Donald is awesome. I will have to try and get on the boards tomorrow to check out your top two favorites.
I guess I am one that doesn't make it onto the boards on the weekends. I don't seem to make it on the computer very often on the weekends but it is not like I'm doing anything exciting.
Thanks Liz.
Thanks Erin!
Love the Donald and Minnie bags! Also not sure if you saw my other response but I will be at WDW in 2 weeks and going to the Poly for the Luau one night if you still need someone to pick up a new Eeyore.
Thanks Holly!
Holy sewing machine Batman!!! It took me a while, but I am finally caught up on your PTR!!!!! I might have missed something along the way, but we'll probably never know.
LOL Welcome!!!
First I want to say that I was deeply saddened by everything that is going on in your community. Here's to hoping that things are improving and that your community can begin to heal. I think you are a wonderful mom and have made some great decisions regarding your girls. I work in a middle school and I WISH we had more parents like you that take a vested interest in their children and their well being!! After all, anyone that works in a school will tell you that it all starts and ends at home! You're doing a great job and it sounds like you are raising 2 spectacular young women!
Thank you. I get the feeling that some people think I am a bit extreme for pulling Alli out of school for so long, but I just sometimes freak out about things... I find the older my girls get the closer I get to them, and if anything were to ever happen to either of them - I would likely go insane. This was a topic of discussion at work the other day - so I know I am not alone in this. But... I did what I felt I had to do, and Josh was in agreement. My only regret is that maybe she missed out on some activities as school that were geared to help the kids grieve - but I am not sure about that? Thanks for your vote of confidence though.
I am totally awestruck by your sewing abilities! I would love to learn to sew...but I guess if I'm going to do that I should probably start with stitching a straight line first! Your UPB's (and accessories) are adorable. I love the Minnie one...of course it helps that red is my favorite color! I am sure your bags will more than help you raise the funds for your trip.
I'm here for the long haul...I guess we all are! I can't wait to here more about your trip planning...and your bags of course!
THank you!

That's all sewing is, just a straight line - with the occasional curve. You can do it, I know you can!
Hopefully I can get to trip planning soon... I hope to book our trip by the end of the year.
Hi D - This looks a lot liek our Eeyore. Ours is super soft and the tail can come off (well not really, it has a string). We got ours at the MOA
Disney store about a year ago. They may still have some.
That is exactly the description of MM's Eeyore! I was just at the MOA TDS last week, V and I specifically looked through all their Eeyores, but they had none like MM's.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
The Minnie bag gives the Dumbo bag some stiff competition! Love the eyelet on it. Gives it such a dainty touch.
LOL - thanks Tink - but we know how you feel about Minnie bags.
***********************************************
No news to update about Alli's school - which is good. She will be going back on Monday. She is all caught up on her work - she has been working very hard this week and devoting most of the time she would be in school to doing the work she was given. I am very proud of her. She badly wants to make honor roll her entire high school career - and I am so proud of her for having that goal! Just having that goal - having the desire to achieve it and try her hardest is all the Josh and I ever ask of our girls... We don't expect them to bring home a 4.0 - we just ask that they try their hardest.
I apprieciate all the offers to get MM's Eeyore... I should have known that once I mentioned it in my PTR - he would be living in Eeyore heaven for the rest of his life.

I am so lucky to have such wonderful Dis friends!
I am still working on my custom order for this week. I am so very happy with how it's turning out... I really like it a lot - and I am in love with the fabrics, they fit the theme of the bag perfectly! I was hoping to be further along than I am right now... but the wallet applique is taking longer than I thought. I hope to have pictures of it posted this afternoon, but I don't think I will be done in time to make it in the mail today.
Once I finish that, I am debating what I want to do with the rest of my weekend... I would like to make a few more accessories to go with my SSP, but I am not sure which ones to do? Or which character to coordinate with? To be truthful - I am a bit sick of Mickey, Minnie & Donald (GASP!)... So, I may just go with the other 2 characters. But then I wonder what I should do... I am thinking a journal cover - I just LOVED having my journal cover on my journal on our trip, and without that journal, I wouldn't have been able to do my TR - I referenced it all the time. Then, I was thinking about doing a Water Bottle holder... I've had a few requests for those - and I do insulate them... But I am not sure. I could also do a couple of GAC pouches? I am just not sure about doing them, because if I put a nice applique on them - they get to be upwards of $50 each - and I think that is a lot of $$. Otherwise - I could take these last two days and make one more bag...

Most likely - as long as I leave it to last, I could get a wallet/lanyard set done for it too.
^^^ So I would really love some opinions on that.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend... I will be posting bags all weekend - so if you happen to stop by...
D~
