~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

As far as recommendations on the adr situation. If you can move it over to the first day that would be best. And keep the second one, just in case. No worries about hoarding. You will still be able to release it in time If someone wants it. I am having the same trouble with the adrs. I think I should eliminate a few, but eating is part of the experience. But I don't want to spend all our time eating. Also, for me in the heat, I just can't eat much. Splitting meals might work if I can convince hubby he will get more food later. His eyes are bigger than his stomach sometimes.

Ruthie.....Glad to hear Maxine is ok. Sorry you had a rough time today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

WHOOT - that is AWESOME Sandra! Congratulations!

Thanks! It makes us feel good knowing that all of our hard work paid off. I also got corrected information today on my numbers. The $12,000 was our total from the whole school year. We raised $9000 at the auction last year with 80+ people and $8400 this year with 60 people!!! Nice to see we raised about the same with less people!!!

Me too - she seems to be doing much better.

She is very thoughtful like that. :lovestruc

Yah - I still don't have my Sunday paper... It was supposed to be redelivered on Sunday, then it was supposed to be redelivered yesterday, and then it was supposed to be here today... The delivery cut off on weekdays is 6:30... I will give them some extra time though - since we did have a snow storm last night.

Thanks Sandra!

**********************************************************

I was able to get one of my BIG auction bags cut out and quilted yesterday... I really wanted to get started on the applique, but I was distracted by other things in the afternoon... Sigh... Oh well - back at it today, hopefully I can get a lot done!

I had a dntist appointment yesterday morning - so it really threw my schedule off for the entire day. But I have clean teeth out of the deal - so that's good. :thumbsup2

We woke up to 6" of fresh snow this morning... Really super sick of winter right now. :headache:

Glad she's doing better!!

It is sweet when they do things for their siblings.

That's just frustrating about the paper. Hope they finally delivered it to you.

Great job on getting the bag started!! Want some of our heat? :rotfl: We've been in the 80's the last couple days! Our poor a/c is working over time! We get the afternoon heat so we have to run it unfortunately.

So I may possibly be coming for an August trip. Found a decent price on flights and I think G needs a trip after all that is going on here.

Is there a problem with this?? :confused3 I don't see it.

your right... popcorn:::cake: :mickeybar
num num

Yeah but.....I really mean it this time. Told Bradey and everything. Now he will kill me if I go back on my word!

I think i might know...

Gosh, all these people dissing my beloved Dessert Party! I loved the desserts there, and didn't have a problem with people getting up by the railing...there is plenty of room for everyone. And yes, I forgot to mention to you that they have a photopass person there through the whole party and it is a great shot! Even if I was just having the sweet tea and sitting, relaxing, watching the castle turn colors, it would still be worth the $25 price tag for me! But everyone has different experiences, I know that.

If this makes you feel ANY better: you sold me on this last time you went!!!
I am stuck between the dessert party or the pirate cruise!

Ok WONDERFUL Farrier came early and its an abcess she'll be ok...I in tears this morning went to church after P/T I'm no martyr but I love her so whispered I would gladly take on her pain.....:crazy2:

after the bottom of her hoof was incised/treated he had to ask her to stand on it so he could check opposite leg. Maxine: hmm..yeah right Stand on it ?? I am off and running on it BUT first I will knock you Michael on your butt & I will step on mom's good foot! :rotfl: After he caught her (as I was hobbling far far away) I then got stung on my right arm by a yellow jacket !

Hmmm. pain pill or wine ??? such decisions :confused3 Thanks you AGAIN for concern, love, care, prayers, bet I don't see 5 pm ! ZZzzzzzzzzzz

:faint:

good grief! glad Maxine is better. hows the foot today? pixiedust:

I am going to try to make this quick this morning - you all were very chatty yesterday afternoon.

having computer issues this morning..

I really HOPE you keep Chef's Mickey!!! especially since you haven't done it.
It's one of the better food places!!! Wish it would re-open for lunch. it's a top 5 yummy food.

It's looking like there will be no Chef Mickey's this time either.

I agree with Ohana too. We have two Brazilian steakhouses here that is KILLER! YET Tom won't give it up and we go there every time.

Love their breakfast though... It's been 5 years...

Yes Part 2 works just fine. you may have a part 3 & 4 if this keeps up! i can only imagine the trip report and how many chapters that will be!

The TR will hopefully be short - I had the last one done in 5 months. :thumbsup2

Snacks are ALWAYS a good deal in the room!!!

That's what I was thinking too.

NO SECRETS i want to know what you ordered!!!

You'll find out soon enough.

My two cents on the LTT issue is this: I would make an ADR for arrival day/night. If you're going to be totally overwhelmed with food the other day it seems like a much wiser choice. Plus, if you do order Gatorade and snacks you can have a snack in your room or maybe go grab some fruit and have a granola bar and fruit? I am big fan of snacks in the room and in my park bag. I was going to say I have a toddler but I was a fan before the toddler was in the picture! Better safe than sorry!

I was thinking this exact same thing. My only problem is, we land at 12:15, and the very latest ADR we can do for lunch is 3:45 (if it becomes available even) - right now we are booked at 2:50pm... So we are going to be pushing it close. I could always do dinner at CRT that first night - but I hate doing an ADR - and a fully paid one on the night of our arrival.

THere is a 4pm dinner reservation available on the Disney website for LTT... The switch from their lunch menu to their dinner menu at 4... Does anyone know if I can still order lunch at this time - or am I stuck with dinner?

How on earth could the girls be sick of talking about Disney? That's what we're here for!

I know - I am so lucky to have all of you keeping me sane/insane. :rotfl2:

We did the dessert party about a year ago. It was a great place to see the fireworks, however, I don't think that the desserts were exactly up to par. They have a photographer that will take pictures and out them on your photo pass. There were a lot of people that staked out a spot along the railing prior to the fireworks beginning. That was a bit annoying.

Well, I am willing to try it once. And since we are doing a mini-Dismeet, it might be more fun than normal?

We also tried Chef Mickey's during that trip. It was delicious!!! I would highly recommend it. Have you ever tried Rose and Crown? We have a tradition of getting a 7:30 reservation and staying to watch Illuminations. We always request a patio seat. Sometimes you have to wait a few extra minutes but it is well worth it. The food is really good also.

OK - so now I have a Rose and Crown ADR on our Epcot day... At 7:30pm. :rotfl2: Still want to try Biergarten some day... I do still have it for lunch, but I am not sure which one I am keeping, because I only want one. LOL

Looking forward to more Disney updates. You really should not keep that all bottled up.

LOL

I have never sent anything to the resort but I think Chiara has used Garden Grocers (spelling???) a few times. It makes sense to me to bring some snacks if you are getting a delivery. Maybe some granola bars or something you can stick in your bags. We always eat cereal in our room for breakfast but are usually too tired and stuffed for an evening snack. I would advise against eating in bed but eating in the room is fine.

LOL I promise not to eat in bed. I was thinking of just ordering extra snacks when I order Gatorade.

Glad to hear you got some good swung done yesterday. Yuck on the snow. It was chilly and windy here yesterday but I never complain about the weather in GA since it is always better then snow. Curtis stayed inside for recess yesterday because it was too cold, it really wasn't that cold but I am sure there were lots of kids with no coats and shorts on since it was warm on the weekend.

LOL That has happened to V a few times this spring...

Good morning, D!

Good morning Mrs. B!

I'll give you a few rambling thoughts about food and ADRs . . . when I am planning our WDW meals, one of the driving forces for me is to eat what I can't get at home. So, if you can get good German food where you live, do you also have access to a nice French restaurant? If not, I would go with Le Chefs. To me, table service dining at WDW is an experience as much as it is sustenance. We've eaten at Le Chefs a couple of times and it was wonderful, and also an experience - once Grace Ellen wanted to sub her entree's side item and the waiter said he would have to go check with the chef. We looked a little puzzled. He came back in a few moments and said no, the chef said no! I guess it wasn't "right" with the meat she ordered? :snooty: Fussy French chefs at their best. :rotfl2: Another time we had a GORGEOUS waiter whose name was Jacques or something and I could have just sat there and listened to him talk with that dreamy French accent, no food required.

You are right... This is how I always used to do my ADRs, then I just got sidetracked. We do not have access to a nice French Restaurant... Hmmm... Now I don't know what to do??? LOL After the above comment - I had to go search out an ADR for Rose & Crown too... :confused3

Choosing restaurants is such a personal taste thing - everybody says Teppan Edo is not worth it if you have a hibachi restaurant near you, but we don't have a local hibachi restaurant since we live in the sticks, and love going there. Ditto The Garden Grill in the Land; we love it and think it's a great, relaxing meal. We are done with Chef Mickey's; we don't like buffets in general and the packed-in tables, mediocre food, and chaos is not for us anymore since my kids are older.

We do have a few hibachi grills near us - and I am not real big into them. We've done Garden Grill twice and loved it - however, last year the girls didn't get any real character interaction - we think it's because they are older. So, we've decided to skip GG this time. Who knows - it may end up back on our list, because it used to be a must do.

Also, when I think about you going in August, you are NOT going to want a bunch of heavy meals in that heat. So I would limit myself to one sit down meal a day, if you can. I remember one trip, just after Pop had opened and the dining plan was new and included appetizers and tips, my kids BEGGED me to never again plan so many meals in one trip.

I agree with this... So, as of now (subject to change) I have one meal scheduled per day... Provided I can get a later LTT meal on our arrival day. I also have 2 scheduled (now) for our Epcot day (Biergarten lunch and R&C dinner - hopefully on the patio with a view of illuminations) - I plan to let one of these go soon. Then on our last MK day, I have a very early breakfast at Crystal Palace and a dinner at BoG... Which I am fine with having both of these in one day - since it is our last day and they are 2 meals that are quite far apart. The biggest issue I had with our other MK day is due to meal scheduling - those meals had to be close together... So hopefully I can get a later ADR on our arrival day and this issue will be no more. :thumbsup2

Random:

I don't think the dessert party is all that, and I'm a gigantic sweets person.

Well, I think we are doing a Dismeet there, and since it's something we've never tried before - I am willing to give it a whirl once. I have read quite a few reviews on it, and stalked every photo thread I can - so I don't think I will be too diasppointed when we go, I feel like I've read a mix of good/bad reviews - so I think I have a good general idea of what to expect. I think we are more going for the seat (which I know it non-existant after the shows start) and the good Dis friendships. :thumbsup2

Great idea to ship water/gator ade. I would begin stalking the Walmart website in hopes of scoring free shipping. We've done this in the past with great results.

Good idea!

Have you considered shipping a box of stuff (clothes, toiletries, etc.) to limit the amount of checked baggage? It's not that hard to do. In fact, have you considered getting a Fedex account (and special pricing) for your bag business? That would make it so easy to ship stuff to WDW and back home. IIRC from my ex-husband's business, negotiated rates are about half the published rates for shipping.

I have thought about shipping a box, but as of now, I am leaning towards not. :confused3 I will have to see how full our luggage looks after we get more packed. I will consider checking in to Fed Ex. :thumbsup2

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

Thanks! You've had some great ideas and you've been immensely helpful. :thumbsup2

Having an ADR the first day wasn't stressful at all. I read somewhere on here that you should plan 5 hours between touchdown at Orlando airport and your first ADR. I followed that rule on the trip with my Mom and we had way more time than we needed. We actually got to Epcot almost 2 hours before our ADR.

This is good to know, and an excellent tip. As of now, our ADR is 2.5 hours after we land... the latest we can do, and still get lunch is about 3:45... So that would give us 3.5 hours - which is still a bit too close for me, I think we may be rushing things? Yikes! :faint:

On my solo trip I made my reservations for dinner so I had hours and hours before the ADR. I know you probably don't want to do dinner for LTT since the menu is different from lunch.

Yes, this is exactly our problem. If only they served Freedom Pasta for dinner - all of my probelms would be solved.

I would just make the reservation and if you feel you are rushing too much to get there just cancel it. I wouldn't worry about hoarding ADRs since LTT doesn't fill up like some of the other restaurants.

Yes... This is what I think I will do... Thanks Ariana!

I go to WalMart once a week email me a list before coming down, save delivery fees, pay me when you see me...no fuss no muss NOT going out of my way I promise

I LOVE you Ruthie... But I can't let you do this for me... You are doing enough as it is and I must draw the line. Besides - I will be ordering some heavy items and I cannot have you to carrying all of that with your shoulder. I can order directly from Walmart, and deliver it right to our resort... and I will use a free shipping code. It's very economical and they have everything we need. I appreciate the offer very mcuh - I really do, but this will work out well - I promise. :lovestruc

[OK now we need prayers for Maxine, I got home last night and she LIMPED over to me when I went out to say hello, I swear it's the same leg as me ( and Alli if I'm not mistaken?..the right one )

So sorry I missed this last night. So relieved that everything is OK.

And yes, it is Alli's Right foot.

[I found no cuts, no obvious injuries picked up her hooves best I could (we must have been quite a sight) so the farrier (hoof guy for non-horse people) will be here at 6 I am praying it is nothing but a stone bruise or something really really minor I can take pain but heartbreaking when its an animal SO wish I was Dr Doolittle ...will let you know later, if I don't get back here then really pray hard because that will mean the next visit is the vet

Ruthie

So, so, so glad that everything turned out OK.

Oh those poor girls of yours being bombarded with plans of the best vacation of your life!

I know... I don't get it. :confused3 Even if it is turning in to a yearly event. LOL

I am actually considering shipping down this time too! I was planning to ship some water and snacks from walmart and just keep my eye out for free shipping. I think the Gatorade is a great idea and I will get some this time. We will be in Florida so we can pick up water and snacks, but if I'm running short on bag room, I'm going to have to ship stuff down and bac (Hopefully not! I do have the biggest suitcase ever but it is always at capacity! ) if you come home with an extra bag, do you pay for it in cash at the airport? like we get one checked bag, 1 carryone and 1 purse for free, additional bags have to be checked. I'm wondering if I have an extra bag when do I pay for it. My boss is paying my flight and I don't want them to get billed for it, if by chance I somehow decided to pick up a mickey suitcase or something.....

I plan to watch for free shippnig too... I've heard that the resorts don't like items arriving more than 10 days before you arrive... So, I will probably order at 10 days out and we should be fine.

Yes, you pay for extra bags at the airport when you get there. I know you can pay for them on line too and save a bit if it's more than 24 hours before your flight - but I would double check with your airline - some of them are different.

I looked into garden grocer last time and it was pretty pricy.

I agree.

Is there a problem with this?? I don't see it.

Yeah but.....I really mean it this time. Told Bradey and everything. Now he will kill me if I go back on my word!

LOL popcorn::

Okay, so I just had an idea...and I am not an expert on the dining plan by any means, so tell me if I am wrong. You are getting the refillable mugs, right? You get a bottle drink from the coolers with a QS meal included in your DDP, right? I saw on Andre's site that they have Vitamin Water and Powerade in Sassagoula's....can you just grab one of those each morning with your breakfast and drink from your refillables?? And if you don't want to carry an extra bottle around in the park and have it be warm when you drink it....like I mentioned before, you can just get free ice water and bring along the Gatorade single serve powder packs. That's what we do....less to carry is always my plan

This is a good idea - however... The girls like fruit juice in the morning with their breakfast... So, I was going to get fruit juice in the morning, so they'd at least have that.

I am still excited to try it... You know me - I will do almost anything once. I am more going for some time to sit an chat - since I know we won't have much of an opportunity otherwise. And we can always make it fun - right? :rolleyes1

WAIT! Stop the presses....they have SWEET tea? I thought it was just iced tea.... If that is the case...then my husband will LOVE the fact that I just booked it for the first time for our short June trip!

Nini

I don't think it's the same sweet tea you are referring to Nini?

I call it sweet tea....it is sweet iced tea. I think it's probably the same stuff they have in the food courts...Gold Peak, right? I'm sure it is not the authentic "southern sweet tea", but it tasted pretty good to me. They had hot coffee, tea, cocoa and some juices and the sweet iced tea. The only way I drink iced tea is sweetened...no lemon...so if I drank it, and I did, it had to be sweet. And it was super duper hot out that night, so I know it wasn't the hot tea

That's what I thought.

Ok WONDERFUL Farrier came early and its an abcess she'll be ok...I in tears this morning went to church after P/T I'm no martyr but I love her so whispered I would gladly take on her pain.....
after the bottom of her hoof was incised/treated he had to ask her to stand on it so he could check opposite leg. Maxine: hmm..yeah right Stand on it ?? I am off and running on it BUT first I will knock you Michael on your butt & I will step on mom's good foot! Just so happy and relieved to hear that Maxine is OK!!!

Sorry about the foot - the photos you sent last night look painful... I hope the wine and rest helped.

The ONLY place we have previously found that serves actual Sweetened iced tea (as opposed to iced tea that you have to add the sweetener to) in all of WDW is Tony's.

Thanks for the info...

Nini

We have not eaten here yet either... I need a 12 day MK only vacation, so we can eat everywhere.

Oh no RuthIE.....I am so sorry, I feel horrible that I am laughing at your pain....but seriously....

If it's going to happen to anyone these days...

I'm so glad she'll be ok. I hope you get better soon as well

Me too!

I have an ADR booked for our arrival day - dinner at Tony's. Our plane (yes, I finally made plane reservations since the price went down today) gets in at 10;30 am, so we will have plenty of time to check in and get over to the park. We did the same thing last time we went but ate at LTT. We may have to try LTT for lunch one day while we are there. I've been thinking about moving some of my reservations around, but I'm not sure just what I want to do yet. We are planning on doing the dessert party one night though, just waiting for the reservations to open up. I bought some light sticks for Charlie and me for the parades - I swear sometimes I think I really have 5 kids...

So happy to hear that you have airfare! Whoot! I can't wait to hear how all of your days come together!

Speaking of which, I loved your comment about the love/hate relationship between your girls. Mine are the same way. I never know whether they are bffs or can't stand to be around each other. Two weeks ago they were on the outs, well at least Shannon was, Kate did not know about it at the time. Thank goodness they live in different cities. They are currently bffs again. I've learned to stay out of it as much as possible. I know they will make up eventually.

I know - both of them are taller than I am now, so I just try to stay out of their way. LOL

Sorry I haven't been around. My quilting group was here for a week for a retreat. I didn't seem to get much accomplished during that time, but I did have fun.

Glad you had some time with friends!

I told my dd Kate about Alli and her ankle and how she wouldn't stay off of it. Kate said she should talk to her about how important it was to let it heal.

She is getting there, and doing better.

I know there was more I wanted to comment on, but I can't remember right now.

Ruthie - I hope all is well with Maxine. Feet issues are not to be messed with, as I'm sure you know well.

It was great to see you!

This is exactly what I am thinking of doing... Yes, I agree - the food is part of the experience, and it's so nice to be able to sit down and relax. The good thing about - if we can get our ADRs to swtich nicely - is that we can leave the park earlier that morning - it might still be crowded when we come back later, but by the time we are done eating - it shoudn't be too bad. I hope.

Ruthie.....Glad to hear Maxine is ok. Sorry you had a rough time today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Me too!

Thanks! It makes us feel good knowing that all of our hard work paid off. I also got corrected information today on my numbers. The $12,000 was our total from the whole school year. This is so awesome Sandra - what an amazing accomplishment for all of your hard work!

Glad she's doing better!!

Me too!

It is sweet when they do things for their siblings.

I know - it doesn't seem to happen often, but V is so giving with everything.

That's just frustrating about the paper. Hope they finally delivered it to you.

Yes, the Depot Manager personally drove it down to my house and hand delivered it... I felt a little badly - but after 4 weeks of this, well - maybe the drive would make it more important to them? But I do have my paper, and only 2 days to plan my grocery shopping trip... I have a feeling this one will not be that good. :(

Great job on getting the bag started!! Want some of our heat? :rotfl: We've been in the 80's the last couple days! Our poor a/c is working over time! We get the afternoon heat so we have to run it unfortunately.

I'd gladly take some of your heat - our furnace is running as I type.

**********************************************************

So happy with my sewing room progress yesterday. I am working on one of my BIG auction bags, and the applique was quite tricky... I am so HAPPY with how it turned out. I love it when my brain, my fabric and Mr. R cooperate the way they are supposed to. I was able to get so far yesterday, that if I am quick, I might be able to run up there before I go to work and do the final assembly.

I am also hoping to finish up a couple of half started projects during the remainder of the week. And possibly cut out my next BIG auction bag before Monday - that way I can work on it as time permits. :thumbsup2

V and I watched Tangled last night - I love that movie so much!

I have to work at Target today... I hope it's busy.

Allison has a track meet tonight - which she will be going to, but not participating in.

I had a question above highlighted in RED - hopefully someone has an answer for me?

That's about all I can think of... Ruthie - I am so glad that Maxine is OK - now I hope your foot is OK too, it looked awful! Ruth - haven't heard from you in a few days... everything OK? Missing Chiara too - I know she is busy trying to get ready for the baby. I have not heard anything from Mrs. Drewsky - I hope her delivery went well and that she checks in when she can. I wonder how Dan is doing, I know Lois is visiting her dd - so we probably won't get an update on him - he could always check in on his own - but doubtful. LOL

Have a great day everyone!!! :lovestruc

D~

So I may possibly be coming for an August trip. Found a decent price on flights and I think G needs a trip after all that is going on here.

We were posting at the same time...

OMG!!!! Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would be BEYOND THIRLLED!!!!!!!!!!! Please keep me updated!!!!! :cool1:

D~

OK - above, someone (can't remember who now...) mentioned getting a 7:30 ADR at Rose & Crown and request a patio table, for a view of Illuminiations.

Are there any other restaurants in Epcot that do this? If so, reviews please. :thumbsup2

D~

It was me!! I believe that La Hacienda does have a patio. If you do go to Rose and Crown try the vegetable shepherd's pie. It is so delicious. It is really worth a try if you've never been there before.

The dessert party is also worth a try. In my previous post I may have been a little negative about it. While the desserts weren't my favorite the location is worth the money. We were there during Spring Break so that may have had something to do with it.

Have a great day!

WAIT! Stop the presses....they have SWEET tea? I thought it was just iced tea.... If that is the case...then my husband will LOVE the fact that I just booked it for the first time for our short June trip!

Nini

Nini - you probably already know this, but the one place at WDW that we've found to have "true" brewed sweet tea is the Garden Grill in the Land. When we eat there we basically soak it up like sponges. Or ticks. We engorge on real sweet tea because we know we won't be getting it the rest of our trip. :rotfl2:

D~

We did Rose & Crown in Dec. I got fish and chips and they were good, but nothing out of this world. There were some dishes that neighbors of ours got that looked phenomenal though! We had an 8pm reservation and our reservation didn't take long enough for us to watch Illuminations from the table. Plus, we were on the patio, but on the upper level of the patio so there was an awning over us. We ended up watching from their viewing area which is a roped off section for their guests. The view from the lower level of the patio might have been a little more straight on. I'm sure we could have taken more time with dinner, but our 2 year old wasn't having it!

has been announced.

You got me all excited! I was searching high and low on all official Disney sites... so I called the TA line...no Free Dining has been announced. They have been getting calls about this for a few hours... said a rumor is going around...

Have to keep watching!

Free dining has been announced.

Yahoo! This will fall within my dates! Now I just have to wait until May 9 to re-book.

I have a 7:50 ressie for Rose & Crown and am hoping to be able to see Illuminations from the table - if we get a patio table. Last time we went, we were seated inside. I had the bangers and mash and it was very good. (Sausages and mashed potatoes - one of my favorite dishes).

Nini - Danny25 has posted on the DIS that free dining will be offered on May 9. He's been pretty much spot on for all of his announcements so far, so I'm thinking he probably knows what he's talking about.

The FD is for Sept 2 - Sept 25 and you have to book between May 9 and September 15.

D~ Does this mean WE won't get FD? (not that it matters to me, but my kiddos it would....and I know you have been on the look out.).

I'm pretty caught up (sorry for getting so far behind again).

Congrats on POFQ...that is absolutely awesome. And what a great savings.

Love your Day One plans...and having a DIS meet with Suzi is icing on the cake.

So I may possibly be coming for an August trip. Found a decent price on flights and I think G needs a trip after all that is going on here.

I am so happy that you will be taking another trip... I am only sad because we will miss you by mere minutes.

Thanks! We ate at La Hacienda last year, and were not all that impressed with it. :( But I do have ADRs at Rose and Crown... at 7:30 though - someone mentioned that was a bit too early to see illuminations?

That is what I am thinking too.

How great that you got so much done in your sewing room yesterday

Thanks Lillian... It's nice to finally be able to finish off some projects that have been on my mind for a while.

This is good to know... Our reservation is at 7:30, so I am worried that this may be a bit too early? Typically - we usually spend a little over an hour eating at sit down restaurants.

has been announced.

So sad... but there is still hope for the end of August - even though it doesn't make any sense, why they'd totally skip over us for promotions. I really could have used FD, but now that our reservations are switched around, I was going into it knowing that we probably wouldn't get FD, so I had to be able to afford our trip.

You got me all excited! I was searching high and low on all official Disney sites... so I called the TA line...no Free Dining has been announced. They have been getting calls about this for a few hours... said a rumor is going around...

Have to keep watching!

Nini

Thanks for the official update.

Yahoo! This will fall within my dates! Now I just have to wait until May 9 to re-book.

So happy for you!!!

I have a 7:50 ressie for Rose & Crown and am hoping to be able to see Illuminations from the table - if we get a patio table. Last time we went, we were seated inside. I had the bangers and mash and it was very good. (Sausages and mashed potatoes - one of my favorite dishes).

Do you think that 7:30 is a good time?

I am pretty sure not, unless the dates get changed. You have to check in on one of the dates in the offer in order to get FD for your trip. Maybe your dates are a little more flexible than mine?

Thanks Kathy - no worries! :) I know you've been super busy. We are very happy about FQ, cannot wait to go back! And I am super excited to be able to meet so many Dis friends!

**********************************************************

Well, I went up to my sewing room before getting ready for work yesterday, and I was able to finish one of my BIG auction bags. I was very pleased with myself for that.

Then I worked at Target all day. Since I am a photolab/electronics team member - and our plano team was resetting electronics (in a big way) - I followed them along and back filled. I always enjoy working with these ladies - we have a great time - these are the same people I went with to the craft fair in Wisconcin last fall. So, it was a good day - and it went by fast.

Came home, made a hotdish for dinner...

Then I went back upstairs to work on a bag that I had to set aside a few weeks ago... It was a very detailed bag, and it was someone from my waiting list... so in that case, I do what I can and I go back to it when I can. I was very happy that I finally finished her last applique. I hope to get it assembled this morning. If I can get this bag finished up and out the door - I would be very happy with myself.

I finally started on my couponing and shopping list last night... not having my coupons on Sunday really threw a wrench in my whole week and schedule - especially since this week is a shopping week for me. I was up pretty late last night, clipping all my printed coupons (I usually print them all week long and pile them up, then clip and sort them with my Sunday paper coupons), clipping my ad coupons and organizing them. I usually make a partial list while I am organizing. I hope to work on my last two stacks this morning/or later this afternoon.

I am metting up with my... OK I will get this right... Josh's brother's wife's mom for lunch today... She is here from The Netherlands, and she is willing to bring all of the baby items I made back in her luggage to save me shipping costs. I am excited to see her, since it has been almost 2 years. Although, I am sad to see all the sweet baby items go - the little one is due to arrive in a little over a month - and we are all so excited!!! It sounds like Brian and Myrthe may be coming home for Thanksgiving this year... :woohoo: We also have finalized plans to meet with them and Josh's dad/step-mom in Aruba in 2015... We are all looking forward to that!

Anyways.... I hope to get back at a semi-decent hour, so that I can do more work... I have a few options available to me. First - I would like to work on the applique for the coordinating wallet for the auction bag... If I can get that done - that would be another full set finished. Which brings me to 2 full complete sets out of 5 done... Only a little more than a month left to finish the other 3. popcorn:: I must work faster and make better use of my time. My other option, is to work on one of my half finished bags... I have a bag that was intended to be one of my bags for our upcoming trip, but after much lamenting, I've decided that it really doesn't "go" with anything I am doing or wearing - so, I think I may finish it off and auction it? I have not decided for sure yet - but I hate for all that fabric to go to waste.

Since tomorrow morning is a shopping morning for me, I won't get anything done tomorrow... I am hoping to get up there in the afternoon for a little while.

But I will be workiing up there all day on Saturday... Josh is working - so I am going to take advantage... I hope, by then - I may have a start on the next BIG auction bag?

My next few weeks - my schedule is FULL, FULL, FULL... Right through the end of May - so any time I have to work on my auction stuff will be on the evenings and weekends only. Which is going to be a topic of discussion at the dinner table one night yet this week. As a rule - at 3:30pm, I am done in my sewing room for the day. For the next few weeks - I will be pulling some evenings and weekends so we can pay off our trip on time.

Anyways - I better get a move on it... I have lots to do today.

Thinking of all of you today and hoping/praying all is well.

D~

I do hope they open it for you.

He is amazing!!! one problem with this is it gets the people there during MY vacation which makes it more crowded... :headache:
