Hi we are on this cruise. Me, DH and DS 12. I posted a thread in precruise posts about sharing some shore tours. I checked out tripadvisor. We aren't interested in taking the big bus tours. I booked RomeInLimo for all the ports in Italy. I reserved an 8 passenger van to see if anyone wanted to share the cost. Check out there web site. You can probably see my reservation on there if you check out the group tours. I've also booked a guide for the Vatican, Coliseum, Pompeii. If you're interested perhaps we can private message (someone will have to show me how to do it)

Latecomer here, as we were originally booked on June 7th sailing. It will just be me and DS (15). I tried to join the facebook page, but it either no longer exists, or I don't have permission to view. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.!

Happy to see others so excited about the trip. This is the first thread I've subscribed to Our family's first 2 week vacation. Pinching myself already. But it's our 4th Disney Cruise.

Luckily, we have family in London to stay with for a few nights, booked 2 nights in Paris and 2 nights in Barcelona pre-cruise. Took advantage of the Hyatt Credit Card reward for 2 free nights (no restrictions on categories)!

Our group is small, myself, husband and our daughter (10). Haven't booked airfare yet, but crossing my fingers I can get a one-way fare to London that's reasonable. Coming from LAX.

Looking forward to a magical trip!

One question for those that have done this cruise before. I assume you can cash Traveller's Cheques at Guest Services on the ship, but will they accept cheques in Euros?

We are from Chesapeake. Flying from norfolk to Charlotte,NC,then Charlotte to Barcelona

This tip may help you with your hotel reservation in Barcelona. I went ahead and opted to get a Marriott's Reward Credit Card. It allows you to earn 50,000 points with the first $1,000 charged within 3 months. The Renaissance Barcelona is a Marriott hotel. I used the card to purchase our family's airfare directly from British Airways. That earned us double points on top of the reward. Now I have essentially earned enough points to get 2 nights at the Renaissance for free in Barcelona. I know it is still a lot for airfare, but at least it got us 2 nights for free.

Hope this helps! BTW, we did the same thing for 2 nights in Paris using a new Hyatt card Plus, these new credit cards have the chip built in, so now we have a credit card that will work in Europe during the cruise.

My current challenge is about wether we reserve excursion through DLC or independent.

Specially in La Spezia as we want to go crazy on outlet shopping (specially the mall in Florence)

Hi everyone! We will also be on the Aug 16th cruise. There will be 11 of us: me DH, DS(26), DS(19), DD(23), DD's friend(23), and extended family members including nephew(9). We are interested in the Fish Extenders. So excited as most of us have never been to Europe. This will be our 7th Disney Cruise!

I don't know why I thought the port for Florence was Livorno. I just spent an entire day planning, only to realize we are going to La Spezia! Anyone have tips on transportation for this port?

We are doing all Disney sponsored excursions. We are a big group and don't want to take any chances. My parents are worried that if something happens the ship will leave without us. This cruise is a BIG deal for us. Most of us have never been outside the USA. So excited!

Just joined this board. My 12yr old daughter and I will be going on this cruise. Do you know much about the shore excursions. I have never been to Europe.
