Before the year of a million dreams started in August 06 we got picked as family of the day at MGM/Disney studios. I never expected it and had no clue how the families we saw were picked. I was talking to a CM that worked at TOT as I was waiting for rope drop when a really sweet CM came up and asked me how many people were with me I said me and my son. I wondered why she asked when she said would you and your son like to be our family of the day and open the park for us. I thought I would explode I was so happy. I said of course. Mind you my 11 yo son is very shy and wanted to die but she said he could just sit in the back of the buggy she took us to and let me do all the talking. I stood up and had to say "lights, camera, action Hollywood here we come". Then they drove us off in the front of the buggy to our ride of choice, my son chose rock n roller coaster and I chose TOT so we settled for his choice isn't that what us mom's do best, put our children first. lol The sweet CM met us there and said since I was nice and let my son chose she would give me a front of the line pass for TOT to use later. How cool. So we got to be first in through the ride and were the only ones on the first ride vehicle. How awsome it was. The funny thing is how excited people get and they kept trying to push in front of us and the CM who walked us through. It was nice not having to fight the crowd, normally I just take my time and let the pushers go in front of us but this time the CM keep telling people that they needed to get behind us. How cool is that. When we left the park the CM told me to make sure to stop by guest services and tell them we were family of the day and a surprise would be waiting there for us. We got the most awsome picture of us on the ride. It was a great picture because we were both so happy we were wearing the biggest smiles and we had nobody else in our picture. What an awsome memory that was for us and even if I never get picked for anything again I see that experience as a once in a lifetime thing. Imagine the thousands of people who are waiting at the opening of the park and they picked us out of everyone. I felt like I won the lottery dreams do come true at Disney World .
