Attractions

Im sure this is on here somewhere, but I was wondering who has done attractions before and what you thought of it? I was accepted for this role but it was one I wasn't real excited about doing so Im trying to decide.

I worked @ mini golf and my roommate worked at Innoventions. She had a lot of fun there as well...many interesting stories.

I didn't work in attractions but a few of my friends did and they all loved it. They worked in MK POTC TL Speedway and one worked at EPCOT as a Kim Possible person. (No clue what they do lol) But they all seemed to like their job a lot. I'm sure Jungle Cruise and Great Movie Ride would be one of those things you would have to enjoy doing seeing as it's a lot of spiel. But not all rides have spiel.

I would definitely say take the role in attractions! I worked in Dinoland for a year and had an awesome time. When I worked in Dinoland I was full-time, but we had a lot of CP's and I met the greatest people ever. Working the attractions you get to learn how to interact with guests and every day is something new even if the work itself is the same. Attractions tend to have younger casts and in Dinoland, at least, the CP's usually became a close-knit group. In attractions it really is a team atmosphere because everyone has to work together, but you get to have a lot of fun! I can try to answer your questions if you have some specific ones.

I worked at Big Thunder Mountain at MK and loved it!!! There was a lot to learn but after doing it for a while, you get the hang of it. There were some positions that I liked more than others but that location had a pretty big cast and a lot of CP's, which I liked. It had a lot of guest interaction. It was an amazing experience for me.

I've done attractions in 2 different locations- Toy Story Mania, and Great Movie Ride. And I am currently fulltime at GMR (and loving it!). It's a lot of fun

attractions is totally the best. imo, you're on the front line of making magic for people. they come for the attractions (okay, maybe the food too), and you really get to get into your role.

Attractions is like the most popular role here in the UK for people applying to the International College Program.
Everybody wants to be an attractions CM

I'll be starting as an attractions CM in June and I can't wait!!! Like lots of posters have said, you get lots of guest interaction and this is what I am really looking forward to!

I've done several roles and attractions was my least favorite. I did a spieling role, which was my top choice, but it got really old really fast. Waaaaaaay too repetitive. I just did it for the summer but I cannot imagine doing it for a full semester, I would've gone crazy. It's fast paced, which makes the day go quickly and you're usually with tons of other CPs which is nice. But I usually leave it off of my resume because it wasn't very "professional" and doesn't mean much to future employers. The others roles I did were more intense and closer to my major, so those are more impressive in the long run.

Definitely go for attractions. My DD was a CP at Space Mountain last year. That particular attraction can take a toll on your patience, due to frequent break downs and therefore irritated people. You do learn all about customer service though In the long run she enjoyed working there and all of the CP's there became great friends....they still talk and take trips to visit each other. Just go for it and enjoy the experience.
