haha now we don't watch it due to the current president lol! Cant wait for 2017 so it is updated. But anyway to the starter of the thread.....how does this not fit into Liberty Square? In fact it fits better here then anywhere besides Epcot who has a great American show.

Actually based on that reasoning Star Tours probably shouldn't be there either. But like you I love the disorganized mess that is DHS.

I agree but Star Tours was at least made to fit the movie making theme. When the ride opened in 1998 the outside looked like the set of a movie. The giant walker was half unbuilt to show the magic of movie making. You were to walk through the set of Star Wars 6 and through movie magic enter into the world of Star Tours. That I can live with. It worked. But it seems the new theme for the future of Hollywood Studios is going to be enter into your favorite movies like Star Wars or Toy Story. No longer seeing how they are made. Still that don't fix that coaster at the end of Sunset.

Just my opinion,; however, elimnating some of the attractions that are very lightly attended might free up resources for new attractions. If going by line lengths everyone can see that many places listed in this string of messages like Small World, Tomorrowland Speedway, Jungle Cruise are always busy so you really would be messing with fire if you suddenly eliminated those attractions. On the other hand, Stitch, Country Bears, Carousal of Progress, Figment, are all walk on and walk off attractions and would not create too much heartache if they were eliminated or updated. Yes there are people who love these attractions (Stitch)???, but how much money is spent keeping Stitch or Figment up and running for very few tourists. I would prefer Disney take money saved from closing lesser attended attractions and instead invest in the updating or expansion of current popular attractions like Soarin, Toy Story Mania, or some of the stage shows, or by spending money on new attractions like Seven Dwarfs or Expedition Everest.

I agree completely. Sure, there are some attractions I could do without, but I wouldn't see them gone just because I don't care for them. If nothing else they give other people something to do to keep the wait times at the rides I DO like down !! Sure they can be a little boring and cheesy, but many of these "outdated" classic rides at MK are still well loved... No, I think if you get rid of anything, you go for what gets the most universally "meh" reaction from your visitors. I think based on what I've read here most will agree that Epcot's future world needs the most attention. It seems to have the biggest divide in wait times too, so I'll use it as an example. If Ellen and Imagination Pavilion were completely revamped/replaced, you've not only brought something new into Epcot (which most people think needs it - not me I love Epcot, but again we aren't talking about me), but you ease the wait times on existing rides (hello Soarin' I'm looking at you and your endless wait times ) because there are other attractions to occupy them and everyone gets spread out more. And sure you'll have some people that will miss Ellen, Figment, and MJ... but ultimately not too many people are gonna be upset to see them go. As a business you gain more than you lose.

There are several things that I don't really care for and my kids don't ride, like the carousel but I wouldn't want to see it taken out. That's part of the area and there are lots of people that like it. I don't think it needs to go away just because I don't ride it.

HOP is a nice AC break and Walt classic. It isn't moving.

Speedway is DEFINITELY due for an update. I wouldn't get rid of it but I definitely would give it a refurb with electric cars.

To be honest I never understood Aladdin's Carpet ride. They already have a similar ride in the park in Dumbo AND the Astro Orbiter.

Speaking of which, AO needs some work. I've heard it's getting some work soon, and that's a good thing.

The concept of Ellen's Energy Adventure fits with Future World, but the movie itself and the animatronics could use an update.

Captain EO can get the boot for all I care.

No ride needs an update more than The Great Movie Ride, IMO. Lots of movies that fewer and fewer people recognize or connect with. The ride concept has so much potential, could be very popular with an update with newer movies.

Backlot could use an overhaul, but I wouldn't know where to start. It's an oldness living in the past. Again, it has potential, and needs something new to get people going to it.

I really don't see much that needs to be updated at AK other than the obvious Yeti. Could do with out Rafiki. Does anyone really even go there?

Totally agree that Backlot needs a serious overhaul. My last trip, the tour guide was a recording. I remember when a cast member would do the narration.

Not just "Stitch," but the entire concept of "We're going to harness you into a seat, turn out the lights and do things to you!" Bleah!

Then give Stitch an attraction that is cute and fun. I think the original "Lilo and Stitch" is a really good and underrated movie with a big, sweet heart at the core (and Pleakley is one of my all-time favorite Disney characters so he needs to be in any Stitch attraction!).

I'm also in the camp that thinks the Backlot Tour needs to be scrapped in favor of more attractions at DHS (expanded Pixar area/attractions would be my first choice). Haven't done the Energy ride at Epcot since 1999 and don't remember much of it, so I can't comment on that, but Future World could use a lot of love. I did the Imagination attraction for the first time ever last year just because there was no line and I really can't even remember it.

That said:
I love Small World! Maybe it's nostalgia for my childhood trips to Disneyland, but IASW is a favorite for me.
And I still do the Tiki Room (I know THAT's nostalgia), and Carousel of Progress (talk about the catchy song you can't get out of your head!).
And I like Hall of Presidents. It's not an "every time" attraction, but I like to do it now and then.
I also really enjoy Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico, but mostly because of the song and the Small-World-ish "Fiesta" scene (because it reminds me of the old Fiesta Train at Six Flags over Texas).
